Let me tell you, this song is one of the iconic rock songs in history. Would you believe it? Guns N Roses have a lot of good songs, and I loved most of them. If you could, would you react to more of their music? I would be so happy to see it 💙
My fave band of all time since 1989! Axl has one of the most powerful, flexible, versatile rage and recognisable voices of anyone ever! Their debut album Appetite for Destruction is one of the fastest selling debut albums ever.
November Rain really is one of *those* songs. Once you've heard it, it stays with your forever.
You should also try "Don't Cry" or "Paradise City".

I actually talked about this group Guns N' Roses with this title because it is part with these two other groups of the 90's of the very closed club to have exceeded the billion views on TH-cam!

This song "November Rain" was released in June 1992 (not in 1983 or 80's! lol 😁😅) as third single taken from their third album "Use Your Illusion I" ( the first of discs released simultaneously on September 17, 1991) ranked no.18 in TOP 50 in France and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in USA becoming the band's sixth and final Top 10 hit as well as the eighth and final Top 40 hit to date as well as the longest-running song on that chart!
The song is considered a "power ballad" with an orchestral background. It is the second longest track on the album, the longest being" Coma" which is over 10 minutes long.
For radios, there is a shortened version of about 6 minutes.
It talks about the ability to overcome difficult times in a romantic relationship.
The music video was shot in New-Mexico (church ) and in L.A (Orpheum Theatre for orchestral scenes) by Mike Souton and directed by Andy Moharan on a budget of nearly $1.5 million.
The album version of the song is used in this one which explains the length of the clip (9'17)! It also won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Cinematography in 1992.
In the videoclip, singer Axl Rose's girlfriend is Stephanie Seymour, an American model and actress.
She also portrays the role of the bride who in the end when the rain comes commits suicide, the wedding gradually turning into a funeral.
You can also see in the famous guitarist SLASH who also worked with Michael Jackson on his title "Dirty Diana" (1988) where we also see him in the videoclip.
I suggest you continue with this group with the songs of this first opus of the 90's (Use Your Illusion I) with their title "Don'T Cry" (1991), "Live And Let Die" the same year which is the cover of Paul and Linda McCartney (maybe a "Double react"???) and for "Use Your Illusion II" the songs: "Knockin' On Heaven'S Door" in 1991 which is the cover of Bob Dylan (maybe a "Double React"???), "You Could Be Mine" in 1991 ( soundtrack of Terminator II, a movie that you know and like! 😉).

Love crazily the versatile melody and the dramatic progression of the whole track and of course Slash's mindblowing guitar solos. A treat. My son bought the CD at it's issue and don't know how many times listened to this track, It was so addictive to me.

It is a song of theirs that is seldom reviewed or reacted to as people tend to go for the better known songs like Sweet Child of Mine, Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle and November Rain.

Just a fun fact for you! The lead Guitarist Saul Hudson who goes by the stage name Slash feared for his life a little bit while filming this video. His solo in front of the small church was shot with an actual helicopter. The helicopter literally flew around him in all directions to catch those shots. That's why he had so much wind blowing his hair. He said it gave him slight anxiety and he was afraid of being hit. You wouldn't know that in the video though! His amazing talent and passion along with his entire beautiful self shine straight through. 😊❤
Funnily enough, Axel Rose (from Guns and Roses) went to a concert of Pet Shop Boys (there is a photo of Pet Shop Boys and him at the back of the stage) and he loved it. He took one of the songs of PSB (My October Shymphony) like an inspiration for November Rain. The concept of pop music and big orchestral was used for that song. So the existence of this song is because of Pet Shop Boys. It's not a joke.
This is my all time FAVORITE Guns N Rose's songs & just songs in genral. Gives me chills eveytime I hear it, takes me back.
GnR performed this at the video music awards a while back. Elton John accompanied them (playing piano) onstage.
It was the “biggest production in the history of the VMA’s” (with full orchestra).

This was from that time when music videos were becoming like little movies in themselves. GnR we’re so huge they could put out a song so long and have it be a hit. But this was also their last big hit. Nothing as big after this. And with grunge coming in at the time.
It’s a great example of the division between Axl and the rest of the band, him wanting to do bigger and bigger arrangements, the rest wanting to do what they’d been doing before on Appetite. I remember Axl running around in booty shorts and doing duets with Elton John at the Freddie Mercury tribute. They were on a totally different wave length.
Still the Use Your Illusion albums are amazing (though with some absolutely skippable tracks). If you want to hear some more epic GnR from this era you can’t go wrong with Civil War, Don’t Cry, Estranged, or Patience from the GnR Lies EP with the original lineup doing acoustic.
No one ever cut this song when it came one. Epic songs like this, it's just a given to let it play out..
You should do a reaction to the group Londonbeat. They are criminally forgotten but had some nice hits in the early 90s. Most notably "I've Been Thinking About You" and "You Bring on the Sun"
