Some characters DID notice things up with Frisk, tho. But yeah, not as frequently as with Kris, probably since they all already have some backstory with them.
Kris as I believe has more control over themselves than Frisk. Kris has broken free a couple times, but also with more control on them self, They have more of a chance of being possessed, as it seems.

Spamton is lowkey one of the darkest characters in both Undertale and Deltarune so far. He's a failed and corrupted salesman that's nothing but a puppet now, and when he finally thinks he's freed from the strings controlling him, he realizes that he's nothing without those. I think Kris feels a similar way because of how they're suddenly being controlled through their soul and that's why they're impacted so badly by the fight...
I am pretty sure he is a broken soul, broken after whatever helped him stopped. When he broke, something made him their puppet, and the reason he says "Hello? is anyone there..?" is because his true self was able to win for just a moment.. But his puppeteer didnt let that last long. I feel like he is the new gaster.
I'm gonna be honest, currently I'm holding Spamton NEO as one of the best bossfights Toby has ever created. The return of the yellow soul mode, the new mechanic of a [[BIG SHOT]], so many different interactive attacks that work so well for Spamton (also the things you have to shoot being blue really helps), all encapsulated in this poor glitchy spam program that just wants to be free. Not to mention, it's clear that this is Toby's way of giving us a full Mettaton NEO fight, after all these years! All the little references and callbacks, and the fact that it's implied Mettaton himself designed Spamton NEO's body, create this perfect mix of and old and new and it's just... _mwah._ Sorry Jevil, I've got a new raving lunatic to gush over!
Kris is scared by what Spamton said about 'puppets and strings' because kris KNOWS that theres SOMEONE controlling them, and thats US. And one of Spamton's lines "Maybe you three can break your own strings." might play in future chapters where we try to make the characters do something but they refuse and do the opposite.
I just complete the snowgrave route in chapter 2, and I hope for nothing more than to be put into my place. Feels so horrible doing the genocide paths in these games

Remember when someone said : "can anybody hear me? Help..." Through spamton in his shop ? Maybe that was gaster trying to comunicate through him, also jevil's backstory also seems to be tied to gaster, maybe all the secret bosses have a story with gaster. And all the shadow cristals were given by him.

I really love the relationship of Spamton and Kris, its incredibly traumatizing for Kris to be controlled by a force that he doesn't even know of. To see Kris see another person go through a similar conundrum like he had is much more disturbing. The cutscene where Susie and Ralsei realize something is wrong with Kris is one of the absolutely vulnerable and best cutscene's in the entire game, the fact that we see Kris be in his probably most vulnerable state and is being offered the question to what he thinks of the fight earlier, or to stretch it a bit, even YOU, the player, is hard to not care about, and at the end of the day, Kris can't even answer the question that could have maybe let his feelings out and at least ease the situation, whether you say Y/N it doesn't matter, picking yes would just be ignoring what Kris really feels and not caring at all, while picking No, which is the best option imo, although you are picking the choice which Kris would have picked, it doesn't matter, Kris NEVER gets to do what he wants, down to the point where he can't even at least talk about what he feels, someone will pick what they feel and express it themselves, without feeling what the person feels themselves, it's simply unfair. Not to call out yt'ers, but most people that have played this (including me) always choose specific choices for the sake of not themselves or the avatar (Kris), instead for the sake of the people around them, you know what the consequences are if you say this "specific-word" to the person, but you are ignoring or not realizing the consequences of what could happen to yourself. Which connects to the ending of the first chapter where we (the player) have made choices that has made consequences that has led to Kris REALLY to getting out of control and doing even the most crazy acts just to get YOU to stop controlling them. (Yes, This is the most longest youtube comment you've ever read, I "tried" to make it short, there's too much I had in mind, if you get tired reading sorry I guess?) Anyway, I hope more secret bosses have a connection to the other characters, especially Kris. Waiting for 3+ years to see this was absolutely worth it.
The dialogue after the Neo fight was actually really interesting, showing that Kris has their own reactions and obviously a personality and we are the one controlling them :oo
Spamton has some interesting lore but the most suspicious character in this chapter is Ralsei -Why did lancer get turned into stone when he left his dark world while Ralsei didn't? Doesn't that mean he is a lightner? -How does he know the layout of the school? -He asked Kris if he wants cinnamon or butterscotch, doesn't that remind you of something? In conclusion, Ralsei is Asriel

The story certainly sounds quite... interesting, and a bit creepy, too. First Jevil, now Spamton. I wonder where Toby is taking this, are we finally going to find out more about Gaster? Awesome secret, though. This is the first and only boss fight in Deltarune that uses a different soul than the determination one (so far, at least), and that just makes it quite special.

Is it just me, or does the text at 30:26 reflect the favorite flavor that the player can choose when creating their vessel? I remember pain being one of the options, and here Spammton mentions it. Has anyone else noticed this?
Honestly out of all the playthroughs I've watched thus far? You seem to have found the most secrets (or random unnoticed stuff) about deltarune, such as the toliet where berdly was or the Addison's at 51:38. I didn't even know some of this stuff existed till now. If there was an award for finding the most secrets in a playthrough for this game, I think you definitely earned it.
There's one detail I notoced! In the long room where you get and return the Disc for Spamton, you checked each of the dark places before checking the robot-thing at the end. Every message you got there said that there's nothing interesting, however ONE of those wasn't just shown, it was progressively typed with sound, as if someone was saying it outloud in there. Kinda gave me chills!
Kris didn't like being compared to a [Heart] on a [Chain] huh, probably because he is one. And when Spamton finally lost his strings...He just broke. Maybe Kris worries the same will happen to him when he loses the SOUL.

I feel bad for Kris, he wasn’t even supposed to be in this situation where he feels like a puppet. Our SOUL (the player) was supposed to be in some vessel, not inside of Kris. Kris is a whole human who’s lost a lot of control over their life, being commanded around by some invisible force. No wonder he’s so shaken up by spamton’s battle. It hits close to home. Regardless of how good or evil regular Kris is, having little agency behind your actions all of a sudden one day must be traumatizing.
Same here, I wonder if our SOUL is the same from Undertale… it would explain why ours seems to override Kris’s most of the time. However, I wonder if our SOUL is really human… since a human cannot absorb another human soul. Maybe Gaster found a way? Or maybe it’s not applicable since it’s differs from Undertale to Deltarune

Every single time I saw Nubert, I made it my duty to say out loud "Yo, is that my man Nubert?" Sadly, this chapter didn't add the dialogue of Susie saying "My man!" from the 6th anniversary stream. At least my man Nubert is... you know, in the game.
Ok so a lot of theories around spamton (mostly just mental connections): In the fight he tells the audience to stop taking his furniture, maybe thats what he was telling the movers (the ads say that he got evicted) The phone call was basically the end of his career, in his fight and shop you see phones. In his dialuge if you talk to him in the shop, he talks about yelling into the phone so something big must have happened with him and his secret manager (gaster..?) He mentions mike in his shop dialogue, and being trapped maybe he wasnt always a robot, the poster in the allyway shows a more human looking spamton. And the creepy shop dialogue of calling for help might be mike trapped in spmaton (its a pretty big stretch) Adding on to this his dialuge right before the fight says things about it being dark and heavy symbolism of being trapped and being let free. I think this just might be him trying to break free from his prison. Spmaton is just such a weird and lore-heavy character , I want matpat to make some theories
Now thinking about it, it could also be that before spamton was a human person. At his death gaster tried to take his soul into another body so as not to let him die but little by little the body of Spamton got corrupted and became this way. It would also make sense because when spamton asks for help in the shop it is the only time he speaks in a normal way like a real person ............
Fun fact: In the video merg mentioned the call from Undertale where a unknown person accidentally calls the wrong number and ask for a G... Before realising and singing the wrong number song... On a completely unrelated note did you know the spamton neo's theme (big shot) contains world revolving, power of neo, dummy and the wrong number song... Very Very Interesting.

during the battle in one of attacks spamton has phones attached resembling hands. He basically speaks with his hands during this moment (33:08). And there are 6 salesman after the battle, and number 6 is related to many undertale easter eggs (for example fun value for mystery man is 66). And the way spamton was talking about darkness gave me chills.

My personal theory is that all the calls in Undertale actually come from Deltarune and have somewhat bled into Undertale because of multiversal mishaps (I mean, you ARE save scumming in the world) Wrong number song: Spamton or someone who ends up like Spamton calling "G" Sans' call: he is coming over someone's place in the hometown, my bets are on Asgore, they are certainly on amicable terms and Asgore's fridge is where you put the first egg. Sans doesn't necessarily have to know about the egg Alphys' call: she's calling Ice-E for a pizza, a treat that doesn't exist in Undertale buy certainly exists in Deltarune
Spamton Neo is straight up just Deltarune’s Mettaton, he even has the spotlight wings and arm canon (also I heard Ghost Song, Power of Neo, and Dummy in his song Big Shot).
Ok, random theory here. So I believe that gaster is trying to get his soul out of the void by putting his emotions into empty characters. With jevil, that's his playful emotions, spamton is his fear, and so on maybe. I think this is his hope that he can be somewhat free from the void, because it's absolute nothingness, so I see why. Idk just had this pop into my head. Update: Ok, I just updated this like 3 seconds later BUT, I think that since there are 7 chapters, it could mean the 7 sins. Spamton is greed for obvious reasons, but I think Jevil is pride. Because he only wants to have fun for himself, and doesn't care about anyone else. Again just popped into my head
The two secret bosses: spamton and jevil both have encounter or hear the mysterios man (gaster). Jevil met him and started to see world as a game, spamton propably comunicated with him with the phone. They both had the shadow crystal. My theory is that gaster has helping both of them or gave part of him self to them ( maybe the shadow crystal is part of gaster) and maybe gaster is the so called knight.
Well, Sean says that Spamton found the crystal in the robot's body when you talk with him after you beat the chapter, so, that's not a good connection point
gaster isn't the knight SPOILERS... for what it's worth we see kris create a new dark fountain at the end of chapter 2, we know he's the knight now, just not why he makes the fountains... is he trying to end the world, does he just like the adventures? i'm betting it's the second one, since he's seemingly perfectly willing to close the fountains and only seems to make 1 at a time

Okay, if the Shadow Crystals transfer over for every chapter, you already know that there's gonna be a secret boss for every chapter leading up to 7, and if you collect all the Shadow Crystals, you will get the true ending or something in Chapter 7.
i believe if you fight the chapter 7 secret boss with all the shadow crystals, maybe you get to re fight every secret boss, since assuming you have all 7 shadow crystals, that means you have beaten each respective secret boss, i think the chapter 7 secret boss would corrupt the secret bosses and make them come back to their physical forms (not just weapons / armors) and you have to beat them
Spamton is probably one of my favourite characters now. Simply because: 1. encountering him for the first time made me start to question the game I'm playing 2. Fighting him made me realise Deltarune can get dark at times. 3. Adds more layers to Kris as a character 4. Makes Ralsei more mysterious and sus
Spamton is like a mix between Jevil, Mettaton, Flowey, and Burgerpants… very interesting combination. Also I’m seeing a pattern, and ima guess the next secret boss in the next chapter will also get their life recked by Gaster

With all of the comments here, and the fact that I am as late as hell, you probably will never see this. But I do want to let you know that the mannequin is NOT useless, it actually probably saved from from a death or two. It reduces damage taken from Spamton NEO bullets by 35%, so don't bully the mannequin :(

I like how Toby tries different things in this chapter, from sprites (i was stunned when i saw the heroic entrance and the back flipping from the wheel what's it) or the messing with with how many or which characters we battle with and ofc than the unique cart fight... Which is than again presented during Spamton but now in different way. I just like Toby having fun with it all, and am truly looking forward what will the other chapters bring... And also ya, I did Spamton on my first try but it was realy challenging, ultimately i find this whole chapter harder in terms of evade patterns which i like, i hope that this scaling difficulty will go higher and higher.

@@derekspradling7452 to be honest, the snowgrave route is a lot darker and more disturbing, which i still find absolutely amazing. but to me it just doesn't have the same emotional punch in the gut the genocide route had, again, to me at least. however, both are still pretty great.
The ending of Big shot has the same tune as one in Mad dummy, symbolizing that Spamton is a puppet with no will of its own, sort of like a dummy. His and Jevil’s fights are the only fights in the game that show the text: “The air cackles with freedom” as they both mention it in dialogue before their fights.

Spamton is lowkey one of the darkest characters in both Undertale and Deltarune so far. He's a failed and corrupted salesman that's nothing but a puppet now, and when he finally thinks he's freed from the strings controlling him, he realizes that he's nothing without those. I think Kris feels a similar way because of how they're suddenly being controlled through their soul and that's why they're impacted so badly by the fight...
I've never thought about the Kris part hence why Kris was having goosebumps after the fight :0
I am pretty sure he is a broken soul, broken after whatever helped him stopped. When he broke, something made him their puppet, and the reason he says "Hello? is anyone there..?" is because his true self was able to win for just a moment.. But his puppeteer didnt let that last long. I feel like he is the new gaster.

I'm gonna be honest, currently I'm holding Spamton NEO as one of the best bossfights Toby has ever created. The return of the yellow soul mode, the new mechanic of a [[BIG SHOT]], so many different interactive attacks that work so well for Spamton (also the things you have to shoot being blue really helps), all encapsulated in this poor glitchy spam program that just wants to be free.
Not to mention, it's clear that this is Toby's way of giving us a full Mettaton NEO fight, after all these years! All the little references and callbacks, and the fact that it's implied Mettaton himself designed Spamton NEO's body, create this perfect mix of and old and new and it's just... _mwah._

I really love the relationship of Spamton and Kris, its incredibly traumatizing for Kris to be controlled by a force that he doesn't even know of. To see Kris see another person go through a similar conundrum like he had is much more disturbing. The cutscene where Susie and Ralsei realize something is wrong with Kris is one of the absolutely vulnerable and best cutscene's in the entire game, the fact that we see Kris be in his probably most vulnerable state and is being offered the question to what he thinks of the fight earlier, or to stretch it a bit, even YOU, the player, is hard to not care about, and at the end of the day, Kris can't even answer the question that could have maybe let his feelings out and at least ease the situation, whether you say Y/N it doesn't matter, picking yes would just be ignoring what Kris really feels and not caring at all, while picking No, which is the best option imo, although you are picking the choice which Kris would have picked, it doesn't matter, Kris NEVER gets to do what he wants, down to the point where he can't even at least talk about what he feels, someone will pick what they feel and express it themselves, without feeling what the person feels themselves, it's simply unfair. Not to call out yt'ers, but most people that have played this (including me) always choose specific choices for the sake of not themselves or the avatar (Kris), instead for the sake of the people around them, you know what the consequences are if you say this "specific-word" to the person, but you are ignoring or not realizing the consequences of what could happen to yourself. Which connects to the ending of the first chapter where we (the player) have made choices that has made consequences that has led to Kris REALLY to getting out of control and doing even the most crazy acts just to get YOU to stop controlling them.

That has got to be the best reaction to spamton neo I've ever seen.
There's one detail I notoced! In the long room where you get and return the Disc for Spamton, you checked each of the dark places before checking the robot-thing at the end. Every message you got there said that there's nothing interesting, however ONE of those wasn't just shown, it was progressively typed with sound, as if someone was saying it outloud in there. Kinda gave me chills!

I feel bad for Kris, he wasn’t even supposed to be in this situation where he feels like a puppet. Our SOUL (the player) was supposed to be in some vessel, not inside of Kris. Kris is a whole human who’s lost a lot of control over their life, being commanded around by some invisible force.

Ok so a lot of theories around spamton (mostly just mental connections):
In the fight he tells the audience to stop taking his furniture, maybe thats what he was telling the movers (the ads say that he got evicted)
The phone call was basically the end of his career, in his fight and shop you see phones. In his dialuge if you talk to him in the shop, he talks about yelling into the phone so something big must have happened with him and his secret manager (gaster..?)
He mentions mike in his shop dialogue, and being trapped maybe he wasnt always a robot, the poster in the allyway shows a more human looking spamton. And the creepy shop dialogue of calling for help might be mike trapped in spmaton (its a pretty big stretch)
Adding on to this his dialuge right before the fight says things about it being dark and heavy symbolism of being trapped and being let free. I think this just might be him trying to break free from his prison.
Spmaton is just such a weird and lore-heavy character , I want matpat to make some theories
Now thinking about it, it could also be that before spamton was a human person. At his death gaster tried to take his soul into another body so as not to let him die but little by little the body of Spamton got corrupted and became this way. It would also make sense because when spamton asks for help in the shop it is the only time he speaks in a normal way like a real person ............

during the battle in one of attacks spamton has phones attached resembling hands. He basically speaks with his hands during this moment (33:08). And there are 6 salesman after the battle, and number 6 is related to many undertale easter eggs (for example fun value for mystery man is 66). And the way spamton was talking about darkness gave me chills.

Ok, random theory here. So I believe that gaster is trying to get his soul out of the void by putting his emotions into empty characters. With jevil, that's his playful emotions, spamton is his fear, and so on maybe. I think this is his hope that he can be somewhat free from the void, because it's absolute nothingness, so I see why. Idk just had this pop into my head.
Update: Ok, I just updated this like 3 seconds later BUT, I think that since there are 7 chapters, it could mean the 7 sins. Spamton is greed for obvious reasons, but I think Jevil is pride. Because he only wants to have fun for himself, and doesn't care about anyone else. Again just popped into my head

The two secret bosses: spamton and jevil both have encounter or hear the mysterios man (gaster). Jevil met him and started to see world as a game, spamton propably comunicated with him with the phone. They both had the shadow crystal. My theory is that gaster has helping both of them or gave part of him self to them ( maybe the shadow crystal is part of gaster) and maybe gaster is the so called knight.
Well, Sean says that Spamton found the crystal in the robot's body when you talk with him after you beat the chapter, so, that's not a good connection point

Okay, if the Shadow Crystals transfer over for every chapter, you already know that there's gonna be a secret boss for every chapter leading up to 7, and if you collect all the Shadow Crystals, you will get the true ending or something in Chapter 7.
i believe if you fight the chapter 7 secret boss with all the shadow crystals, maybe you get to re fight every secret boss, since assuming you have all 7 shadow crystals, that means you have beaten each respective secret boss, i think the chapter 7 secret boss would corrupt the secret bosses and make them come back to their physical forms (not just weapons / armors) and you have to beat them

When I noticed World Revolving playing in Spamton's shop I got goosebumps
I like the callbacks in the secret bossfight.
Makes me wonder if we are going to meet more bosses related to Undertale in future chapters.
Spamton is probably one of my favourite characters now. Simply because:
1. encountering him for the first time made me start to question the game I'm playing
2. Fighting him made me realise Deltarune can get dark at times.
3. Adds more layers to Kris as a character
4. Makes Ralsei more mysterious and sus
Spamton is like a mix between Jevil, Mettaton, Flowey, and Burgerpants… very interesting combination.
Also I’m seeing a pattern, and ima guess the next secret boss in the next chapter will also get their life recked by Gaster

I did not see that in my playthrough (as the teacup ride had already rose up by the time I went back to the area) and have not seen that in any other playthrough.

With all of the comments here, and the fact that I am as late as hell, you probably will never see this. But I do want to let you know that the mannequin is NOT useless, it actually probably saved from from a death or two. It reduces damage taken from Spamton NEO bullets by 35%, so don't bully the mannequin :(

I like how Toby tries different things in this chapter, from sprites (i was stunned when i saw the heroic entrance and the back flipping from the wheel what's it) or the messing with with how many or which characters we battle with and ofc than the unique cart fight... Which is than again presented during Spamton but now in different way.
I just like Toby having fun with it all, and am truly looking forward what will the other chapters bring...
And also ya, I did Spamton on my first try but it was realy challenging, ultimately i find this whole chapter harder in terms of evade patterns which i like, i hope that this scaling difficulty will go higher and higher.

Not making demands, I just can’t wait to see his reaction to how much darker this genocide run is. :-) There’s a lot to this chapter and I love it. Each chapter is going to be like a game by itself.
@@derekspradling7452 to be honest, the snowgrave route is a lot darker and more disturbing, which i still find absolutely amazing. but to me it just doesn't have the same emotional punch in the gut the genocide route had, again, to me at least.
however, both are still pretty great.

BIG SHOT is literally just leitmotifs to Mad Dummy, NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A, THE WORLD REVOLVING, and Power of -NEO- and I love it
The ending of Big shot has the same tune as one in Mad dummy, symbolizing that Spamton is a puppet with no will of its own, sort of like a dummy. His and Jevil’s fights are the only fights in the game that show the text: “The air cackles with freedom” as they both mention it in dialogue before their fights.
His theme is actually so good and it’s cool how you can hear remixes of other boss themes aswell
Fun fact: ONCE, during the NEO fight, if you press f1 he full heals you.
