Going through this route made me feel like the scum of the earth for traumatizing Noelle, good job Toby Fox. And glad that you're enjoying (suffering through is more accurate) this route too, Merg!
A very interesting secret is the hp that Noelle is reduced to in the fight with Berdly goes to 55, and in roman numerals it is “LV” which is just crazy to think about, Toby knows how to hide his secrets a bit too well
Yeah... Noelle is sad because she killed her classmate, and Kris is also sad, because he was forced to force someone else, his childhood friend even, to kill his fellow classmate. It's all sorts of messed up. Which is exactly why it's my favorite route right now, it's very very interesting, to watch how people react to it.

You know, it’s interesting to think it took an entire day for the community to find out how to access this route. Really goes to show how specific the requirements for it is.
The original finder of the route, Brandini, apparently found it on his second playthrough when he went back with Noelle to get an item he forgot, he probably didn't trigger the route completely on his first attempt, but he most likely pieced together everything.

In Deltarune, Kris manipulates Noelle to kill, as Noelle kills more darkners, she loses control and possibly her own soul. That's why she “blacks out” she's not doing the killing, Kris is making her do it. Kris “Makes” her do things she doesn't want to do. As did Chara with Frisk in Undertale. Fun facts: In the first Annoying Mouse Room, you don’t have to do that “proceed” thing It’s completely optional but it’s so cool that that sort of hint to future events can be triggered After getting the Freeze Ring, instead of being fearful when going into battle, Noelle just slides into place If Kris’ HP reaches 0 in the Berdly fight, Berdly will tell Noelle to come to him, but Noelle will say that she can “still hear their voice”
Answering your question Merg, yes, Kris (and Susie, Ralsei) get strong too, when Noelle kills enemies. That is the quantity of HP, which every character has in chapter 2: Kris: 120 HP Susie: 140 HP Ralsei: 100 HP Noelle: 90 HP As you can see, the HP increases when you kill enemies.
We also get insight into how Kris feels about all of it. When Kris meets back up with Susie and Ralsei, they notice that Kris "doesn't look so good", and Susie gets cut off from saying they look like they're sick. And, well... Kris has been defending the entire time in battle, hardly a scratch on them. Then the real kicker, once Spamton NEO triggers his defense: *_"Kris_* cried for help... but nobody came." *_"You_* whispered Noelle's name." Snowgrave confirms multiple times that all these horrid actions are the Player. From Noelle's realization near the end of Snowgrave that Kris is acting strange and had a terrifying voice that wasn't there, to if Kris gets downed in the Berdly fight and Noelle saying she can "still hear their voice", to Susie and Ralsei visibly noticing something's off with Kris when they meet back up, to Ralsei queueing in Player leaving to watch the Susie cutscene, only for it to not happen. Noelle even touches on some of Kris's "worst" behaviors. Over and over again, the route gives you option after option to stop. There's no one to blame for the way this route went but the Player. Because Kris didn't *_want_* any of that to happen. They're able to control their body language in times of great emotion outside of the players control, so the fact they looked hurt and sick speaks volumes (by the way, some further evidence for this; when you try to play the piano in the hospital, Susie notes that Kris looks pissed (because Kris can play the piano, but Player can't), and Spamton NEO's Pacifist secret boss ending has Kris either say 'yes' strained (as if forced to lie) or yell 'no' (as if finally getting an outlet). It wasn't as mentioned with these specific little tidbits in Chapter 1 as it is Chapter 2). Kris is mischievous, yes. They do like pranks, they do like causing chaos. But they don't wanna be anywhere near Snowgrave's levels, given their reaction. It sucks we made them watch this all go down.
I like how berdly is arrogant , selfish and has desire and bit of crazy (funny) to be first in first route While now he is showing no such desire , being totally serious and only want to save his (only) friend
I really enjoy this Merg, because you're 1 of the few youtubers that go deep into the secrets of the games they like. Also notice small things like changes in the music, the dialogue, the animations... Makes it feel like all the work Toby put was worth the trouble.
2:55 I like I his initial reaction to this is,” oh hell yeah!” I don’t know why I was just laughing so hard during this entire video; I couldn’t help it! Merg’s reactions to everything, like when you get dialog options like “proceed”, made it very funny for me!
Which also makes me wonder, if you aren't getting hit by cars when on the line inbetween lanes, you could use that to walk through the black "bridges" and maybe find something in the pacifist route?
i remember when this was first discovered, everyone freaking out/being super stunned and talking about it and making names for it. probably my favorite memory from this game so far haha
Something interesting I noticed is that whenever you make a significant choice to proceed down the snowgrave route, it plays the same little jingle. It sounds awfully like an inverse of the noise the mystery man makes when you inspect him in Undertale.
Fun Fact: In this version of the Berdly fight, his sprite appears more serious, and he can only use that one attack, but it’s a bit harder than normal. Edit: apparently, he actually has two attacks, but the other one is also harder.
I really like that detail, because it shows how much he cares about Noel. He dropped his smug facade and dramatic acting the second he realized Noel could be in genuine danger. Like Queen said: He's a good guy, just annoying. And I love him for it.
29:44 I dont think its intentional, but when Kris looks at you like how he does after every dialogue or scene. In this specific scene, the fence makes it look like Kris is smiling
Yeah that was one of the creepiest things for me. Seeing Kris smile while turning to the camera and then everything being normal again made me feel like I'm going insane aswell.

So I watched Mariusu (sorry if I spelt that wrong) play this route a week or two ago when it first came out. And I was horrified because of it to the point were it kept me up a bit at night. Something about this route hits different than the gen one in undertale. I guess it’s because Noelle’s reactions to us doing things feel so real that it can honestly spook the player a bit (unless your super brave lol) but honestly I just feel bad for her. We are practically backing her in a corner. Sorry for the long comment.
Deltarune: Your choices doesn’t matter Also deltarune: Ah yes, there is a secret route that you can take if you *choose* to walk backwards when meeting Noelle.
Holy shit even with other Snowgrave playthroughs I have NOT seen that dialogue in the first mouse room. I keep learning things about Toby's games fucking years later
Currently, I’m playing game neutral/non snowgrave genocide route(I have more HP, but less in Final fight. Does it reminds you of something? Anyway...) and I defeated Berdley by Attacking him(it results in his arm getting harmed or maybe I missed something, cause in first fight against Queen he is trying to unplug himself damaging arm/wing in process). In scene where 4 protagonists wake up, Berdley notices that he cannot move his arm...
The one problem I'd have going through the Weird route would be killing cats. Not cool! Manipulating Noelle, terrifying her, freezing Berdly, destroying worlds, easy peasy. Killing cats? No way!

Fun facts: In the first Annoying Mouse Room, you don’t have to do that “proceed” thing
It’s completely optional but it’s so cool that that sort of hint to future events can be triggered
After getting the Freeze Ring, instead of being fearful when going into battle, Noelle just slides into place
If Kris’ HP reaches 0 in the Berdly fight, Berdly will tell Noelle to come to him, but Noelle will say that she can “still hear their voice”
“Battle against a true hero? Berdly?”
But sadly, he was featured in a tutorial about keeping chicken in a freezer.

Quite an interesting variation on the genocide route. Toby really knows how to keep things fresh where so many sequels just fall back on old tricks
ive waited for this a lot
overall for merg reaction
lol
Me too
Answering your question Merg, yes, Kris (and Susie, Ralsei) get strong too, when Noelle kills enemies.
That is the quantity of HP, which every character has in chapter 2:
Kris: 120 HP
Susie: 140 HP
Ralsei: 100 HP
Noelle: 90 HP
As you can see, the HP increases when you kill enemies.
Even in the pacifist route Kris, Susie, and Ralsei have more health than CH1, kinda strange
@@OctoNap yep, in chapter 1, each character has:
Kris: 90 HP
Susie: 110 HP
Ralsei: 70 HP
@@hikarioss2122 I'm pretty sure it's
Kris 100
Susie 120
Ralsei 70
Unless it somehow glitched when I played
@@OctoNap Nah dude, I just saw a gameplay from chapter 1 now, and it's exactly what I said before.
@@hikarioss2122 ok I'll check later, I believe you but I'm making sure
Noelle definitely went through a lot this route, but so did Kris. I mean, he was forced to do all those terrible things just like Noelle.
Yeah. I feel bad for both.
Don’t wanna be that person, but Kris is not a dude. Gender’s thrown out the window, here.
Kris is pretty freaky, but all the "proceed"ing and commands, that is entirely YOU, the player.
Kris is "huffs markers and hides under neighbors' cars" weird.
The Snowgrave route player is _evil_
We also get insight into how Kris feels about all of it. When Kris meets back up with Susie and Ralsei, they notice that Kris "doesn't look so good", and Susie gets cut off from saying they look like they're sick. And, well... Kris has been defending the entire time in battle, hardly a scratch on them.
Then the real kicker, once Spamton NEO triggers his defense:
*_"Kris_* cried for help... but nobody came."
*_"You_* whispered Noelle's name."
Snowgrave confirms multiple times that all these horrid actions are the Player.
[ P r o c e e d. ]
Merg saying that he's drugging Noelle was the best thing I've ever heard
As soon as he said that, I was like "I hate this route even more now.... which is why I'm going to do it on a separate file"
When
I like how berdly is arrogant , selfish and has desire and bit of crazy (funny) to be first in first route
While now he is showing no such desire , being totally serious and only want to save his (only) friend
Everyone can be a good person if they only try. ;)
I really enjoy this Merg, because you're 1 of the few youtubers that go deep into the secrets of the games they like. Also notice small things like changes in the music, the dialogue, the animations... Makes it feel like all the work Toby put was worth the trouble.
2:55 I like I his initial reaction to this is,” oh hell yeah!”
I don’t know why I was just laughing so hard during this entire video; I couldn’t help it! Merg’s reactions to everything, like when you get dialog options like “proceed”, made it very funny for me!
I went on mergs channel at least 5 times per day the last 3 days, just because I waited for that route all the time...
FINALLY
I was waiting for him to do this! How is merg now a master at avoiding the cars?!?!
Which also makes me wonder, if you aren't getting hit by cars when on the line inbetween lanes, you could use that to walk through the black "bridges" and maybe find something in the pacifist route?
Also, Merg needs to wear the watch in the dark world for it to have an effect
he doesn’t need too, but for extra dialogue he should
@@ozzie6447 Yeah, it just seemed like he wanted the special dialogue which requires you to be wearing the watch when talking to Noelle afterwards.

He can use 2 attacks actually, someone got the tornado one
I really like that detail, because it shows how much he cares about Noel. He dropped his smug facade and dramatic acting the second he realized Noel could be in genuine danger.
Like Queen said: He's a good guy, just annoying. And I love him for it.
Toby really nailed that scene when Berdly was just casually *chiling* with Kris and Noelle

I knew that I wasn't the only one that noticed that... It was so creepy, I felt like I'm getting insane because of this route...
It doesn't seem like Kris' expressions, or emotions and thoughts, are controlled by player, so overall unlikely that it was intentional indeed

@@NRobbi42 You’re correct. I kinda lost track of time lately. The point still stands, though.

Holy shit even with other Snowgrave playthroughs I have NOT seen that dialogue in the first mouse room. I keep learning things about Toby's games fucking years later
Fun Fact: Noelle's HP is at 55 in the battle against Berdley, because in Roman the number 55 means "LV".
Ah, Toby Fox and his Easter Eggs...
That's so cool!
So, you have chosen to play as evil incarnate. This route literally brings tears to my eyes.
“Kris just made that up”
Oh, eeehhh let’s say yes.
The one problem I'd have going through the Weird route would be killing cats. Not cool!
Manipulating Noelle, terrifying her, freezing Berdly, destroying worlds, easy peasy. Killing cats? No way!
