I love her comments about wanting to have an "oldie's" home for musicians like Casa Verdi in Milan. I love to be with older people myself, and would love to see her realize her dream of establishing such a place. I would go there just to be with older people who are fascinating to talk to.
When someone interviews a football player, it is mostly a sports journalist, or someone who understands football to a certain extent. When interviewing a writer, it has to be someone well read, etc... When interviewing a musical giant/monument/genius like Matha Argerich, It would be nice if it were someone who understood ANYTHING about music!!!
OMG I feel the same way she does about practice. I hate getting on the piano to practice, especially when I can just be on the computer all day watchin anime or somethin, but once I start I can be on the piano for a whole day and not notice.
She's still a little girl who does not like to practice...:-)) Dutoit was a very lucky man to have her...;-) Love you Martha. Garde toujours en toi la petite fille rebelle jusqu'à la fin de ton beau voyage...:-)
hm dont know what to say :S this is just such a weird feeling of satisfaction or pleasure to actually hear her telling some stuff about her life, even if just tiny bits. It still sculpts a character which fits right into the complete Master she has become and yet shes so natural. Boss-mode^^ No reason to be unnatural, because theres nothing/nobody who could reach you to challenge, outperform or hurt you. No competition and no need for competition. Great status -.- I guess that can give you peace
@slerk9 Yeah. You wouldn´t believe that she is nearly 60 and one of Sweden´s most experienced music critics would you? (also married to one of Sweden´s best pianists.) I don´t think one should pretend to be what one is not! (in this case clueless.)
@pianoandvideogames What's so funny about that? Okay, it's kind of cute when she refers to people slightly older than herself as 'oldies' , and that she's making jokes about herself being old too, but was it actually that funny, as in CAPITALS funny? The change of subject apparently wasn't hers anyway, but the editor's.
Don't mind me, I'm just binge watching Martha Videos
I love watching her smile. She's so adorable and endearing. She's still like a little innocent girl even though she's in her 70s.
what is the thing in her hand ?
Friendship bracelet from Japan.
I find her infinitely fascinating. What a talent!

wow, how can someone with such talent and perfection in the music world be so humble? What a nice person she is. If only my teachers were like her. :)

YES! Amen!
I could not agree more. She is not meant to ask about bracelets when she interviews a musical genius such as Martha.
She has a lovely smile. Charming and forever young. Martha you are beautiful :)
Agree, Agree, Agree.
I am sure you meant underrated. Martha is a reigning queen of the piano with nobody in sight even close IMNSHO.
What a amazing smile...on top of everything else. Brava Martha!
A Goddess! Nothing else describes this world treasure
This was such a treat to watch. Thanks for sharing it!!
She's wonderful! So talented and so friendly.
what a beautiful engaging woman..thank you so much for the video...

I so much agree with you.An amazing lady, and an incredible mind.
A remarkable pianist. Her English is good
She speaks 6 languages. Khatia Butatishvili does 5.
And Bruce Liu three!
God Bless Martha Argerich.
What a charming old lady ! She has long long grey hair, and sometimes she is with sweet and pleasant smiles on her face.
Estás divina, Marta!

さすがですね。アルゲリッチは。才能があふれているね。
Muchos Argentinos y gente de habla español nos gustaría enender estas entrevistas. Amamos a Martha
No se podría poner subtitulos en nuestro idioma?
What is that bracelet on her arm? Where do you get such a bracelet?
@jimhoyl I don't see a facial resemblance. I could see people saying that Jack Benny and Jascha Heifetz looked a lot alike.
lol how she speaks!good Argerich! :)
Wow this is not the best interview I've ever seen. Is she working for a network?
I'm listening to her play Chopin's Piano Concerto as I type this. If anyone can play it better than this I'd like to know who they are.
:)
2:35 that was awkward "it's not fun?" "no". Odd interviewer
terrible interviewer. too bad. Argerich is always insightful to watch.
Haha great answers by martha.

Are you a pianist or a musician? Are you always very judgmental ? Even you can't play as well as stupendous Martha, I worship the ground she walks on.
the interviewer is absolutely clueless
She doesn’t know much/anything about music!
The interviewer is not very good. She gets in the way somehow.
What a stupid comment..she had just done a concert!!!
strange exchange
@ellandelachapelle trolllllllll
Some stupid questions...
Brush your hair...
Most overrated pianist of our time
