    Bass on the fly are great fun! Although I think you are further South and on a bigger body of water than I fish. BTW I googled Somewhere in America and now I know where that honey hole is.

    • @Unsensitive
      @Unsensitive ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had some close calls after 3-4 decades of fishing with uncle and father.
      1 hat went for a swim
      1 fleece had a treble cut out of
      Felt some wind on many close calls.
      Never any accidental thingy hookings though.

    • @CONEHEADDK
      @CONEHEADDK ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Unsensitive I once caught my own heavy brass tubed fly in my cheek while fishing icey water for salmon - had to cut it out when I got home.. Never fished without glasses after that, and never taught casting to anyone. who weren't wearing some. Have sold a few of my own pairs to randome anglers while driving around checking out PTs. Once spoke with a gear store guy, who told a story about an angler, who came to the store all the time.. Then he stopped coming for at while, and when he returned, he could share the story of "not needing to wear eye protection, bcz he never overhand casted, but only did Spey aso" - then one day his leader wasn't really hooked to the water, and the D-curve pulled the fly right into his eye - and he lost it.. Safety first.!

    @larrycisneros929 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, that’s just not right…. I’m so jealous.
    Central California (Motherload lakes) is the only real action we have, where I live. Our rivers are blown out….. too much water, no trout.
    A clowser at the end of your redfish rig, 8wt, Rio outbound, WF8/S3.. 2x floro leader… and some shoulder. Bass…. From shore, or a boat casting close to shore… strip, strip, strip, roll cast, pull and send a loop, let it load on the surface, then, hero cast… You’ll be a hero one morning… not like you guys…. You guys suck at fly fishing!

    I like your stuff but on these longer videos I don't usually stick with them, because, I'm sorry to say, I don't enjoy the commentary; it's too chuckly and over the top for a long video. I'd love to hear more about how your thinking about the fishing, where you cast, what the fish may or may not be doing, the fishery, just some real information, instead of 'wow, did you see that!'. Maybe it works for other people, I like calm informative stuff. Thanks for posting. Beautiful fishing hole.

    • @HugeFlyFisherman
      @HugeFlyFisherman  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I get it, but that stuff is boring. It’s bass fishing, not rocket science. Cast to the structure. Start with surface flies and if that doesn’t work go deep. Thats it. That’s all there is to it. That’s the whole process. Maybe you’re overthinking fly fishing, and maybe my videos aren’t for you.
