It is interesting because one of my teachers is called Maribel, which in my life has been an "uncommon" name for people and is even more "uncommon" in literature. Actually just because of that my teacher started liking Zun's work using the frase "it is wonderful to find a literature character named as me".
What leads me to the main point... There are a large amount of charaters and themes from Touhou that relate, or sometimes even reseamble, people I know or moments of my life. That is one of the reasons I like Touhou so much and I give it that divine ranking among stuff.
To everyone and anyone, Touhou has ever mirror someone you know or to an stage of your life?
I've always liked hearing the Touhou music, even before I properly introduced myself to Touhou. The first Touhou song I think I ever heard was the theme of the Prismriver Sisters, and I thought it was cool. I eventually heard remixes of U.N. Owen was Her?, Border of Life, and Necrofantasia. Then, as of I think just last year, I started listening to more Touhou music, mainly remixes. I still hold a special place in my heart for Border of Life and Necrofantasia, but I have also come to really love some other ones (History of the Moon ~ Gensokyo Millennium, The Gensokyo the Gods Loved, Love-Colored Master Spark, Septette for the Dead Princess, and more). And of course, I can't forget Kid's Festival ~ Innocent Treasures. Love that one to pieces.
So, I'm not sure if I've had Touhou mirror a stage of my life or someone I know, but the music has always stuck with me and it strikes a chord in me that only New Age music (my favorite genre) has ever struck. Touhou music is special to me, and it means a lot to me for some reason, even though I've never played the games.
Oh... I also discovered first Tohou music than the game itself. During 8th grade, (4 years ago) I was looking for hard songs for piano and I encountered with U.N. Owen was Her? remix that was named as Fairies Air and Death Waltz on Synthesia. About half a year later I found as a suggestion the version of U.N. Owen was Her? from Pinneapple Disciple. I heard to it and just thought it was strage. Later I found Necrofansia from SFF.
But when I understood that this was Touhou was when I was searching for songs named as "themes" when I started with the letter "A" google searched for "Alice's Theme" and as result was the one of Pinneapple Disciple... (And I have to say... that since then Alice has been a great mirror of my life.) I decided to look for who/what was Alice Margatroid which led me to the Touhou Wiki... and now I am here.
That's amazing. Glad to know someone else who started with the Touhou music. :) I don't know if any of the Touhou characters are a reflection of me. I just know for sure that the ones I find interesting are Reimu, Marisa, Alice, Yukari, Yuyuko, Youmu, Maribel, Renko, everyone from the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Kaguya, Eirin, Mokou, Byakuren, Sanae, Aya...and maybe a few others. And of these, I really like Reimu, Yukari, Maribel, and Renko most.
I, myself, have found Touhou through kcwhkoh or however you spell it. The veryfirst song I listened to was a piano arrange of Luna Dial, meant to be jazzy. I then wanted to find the origins and found it, even though i didn't like it at first. It grew on me and now I'm a big Flandre Scarlet fan.
Touhou in general is my nostalgia fuel, something about it always gives me a strong sensation of familiarity i can't place a finger on...
I mean, it played a part in my early days in the internet, so when i listen to the songs or look at the fanart or flashes that introduced me to it, i cant help but feel a huge sense of nostalgia since it reminds me of my long journey and my sparking excitement in a place that taught me many important things in my life and the beautiful memories i shared with my family and friends
So i safely can assume touhou mirrored a great part of my life, and i hope it still does in the years to come

Renko and Maribel can't be bosses. They're literally just simple humans. Renko can deduce the time immediately by looking at the stars. And Maribel can see boundaries. Nothing more.
Hecatia Lapislazuli This is unfortunately true. They are cool characters but I don't see them ever being bosses, especially since they exist in a different time period than the content of the games.
My comment initially was more of a wish, I didn't think they would be bosses, the moon theme looked like a very slim possibility.
But who knows? Sumireko was a boss too.
ZUN's works have changed over the years...
I've noticed that his style has become... different over the time it took to get to TGA. After being stuck in the Windows era for so long, I guess I've started to like more of his stuff. Too bad you can't post up the latest 3 CDs...
This song would make an amazing last word theme considering the speed and energy of this theme. And considering the increasing use of Outside World in main and sub line Touhou games.
I'm hoping ZUN adds Renko and Maribel as a boss and I hope that this song will be their last word theme.

It is amazing the almighty-picture of Maribel in this video.
It sounds like something that would come out of Seihou. Especially given the introduction.
As for me, it mostly reminds me of The Last Judgement from Mystic Square.

Actually, that would be pretty interesting if it were true, because of Reimu's and Yukari's relations with eachother; In fact, it's believed that Yukari is the one, or at least part of the team, that originally set up the Hakurei Barrier.

I've seen images of these two girls a thousand times and I still don't know their names... Are they the protagonists? Is the purple one on the right the young version of Yukari? Is the white one on the left Reimu before turning into a Prohect Shrine Maiden?
Left is Renko, right is Maribel Hearn. There's.. A lot of theories about the relation between Maribel and Yukari. There has to be some sort of connection between them though, there's far too many details that line up.
I have a theory that Renko is Yuyuko before she died and that's why Yukari and Yuyuko know each other so well
@@bluetoad2813 I think that this theory isn’t bad but it can’t be possible for the simple reason that they are from a near future so yuyuko can’t be alive in the future and dead in the present 😓
@@aaathoms if you think that way then the Maribel = Yukari theory would not make any sense either, but this theory is strong considering the possibilities of time travel and it's paradoxes (and also the manipulation of the boundaries between reality and dream). If you consider those factors then the Renko = Yuyuko would be possible too. For me this theory is probably wrong, but for other reasons (for me it simply doesn't seem plausible and is not falsifiable).
