This. This is what true figure skating should be - it's elegance, grace, fluid on ice, gliding with ease, captivating you from start to finish. NOT a mere exhibition of quads and other jumps connected by stiff, mindless skating in between. Like people have already said below, just watching Yuzu practice even without any jumps is already much better than most other competitive programs - and together WITH his beautifully effortless jumps, no one can simply compare.

I haven't seen this in a very long time and I'm really glad I looked again. I just reminded myself that his skating is one of the most amazing, beautiful, graceful and natural art forms I've ever seen. 🇨🇦💕
This is so emotional program. It is just an ad lib play like a pianist! He has already perfectly made it! He and his skating skills can control any kind of music! The judgers neither even understand skating nor music. They don't deserve this sports!
It's been more than three years since I won the Olympics in a row, and I still see it many times every day. You can see that not only the players inside the link but also the spectators outside the link are nailed to the beautiful and smooth skating that does not make you feel the pain of the right ankle that has not completely healed. The supple and beautiful figure that has been slowly trained over time so as to focus on the fingertips, toes, and body performance, which are the basics rather than difficult jumps, is just like a model of figure skating. How happy we are to show it! I've never seen a person so charismatic.
his victory at PC Olympics was proof that "men make plan and God laughs". Against all odds, with the media writing him off and crowning others even before the competition began, with a career threatening injury, he **believed** he could win, even if he could only jump quads 2 weeks before the competition. I can't even begin to understand how someone can have that much faith. But he was right, he believed he could and he won. He really is a very very special kind of human being.
Just your existence makes us happy. Yuzu on the ice is without no words. It’s like a hymn to beauty. No one can ever reach this level of perfection. You never fail to move my heart and soul. Thank you Yuzu so much.
okay but this whole video is so beautiful to watch and comforting ... i get anxious and stressed out alot, and sometimes i feel just tired of life you know? but this video just give me such peace and calmness i cant describe ... from the way he is gliding on the ice its just so fascinating and the music makes it so much more emotional ... this may sound weird but sometimes i just cry whenever i rewatch this video ... altho no words are said, just music and hanyu skating, its so comforting and touching ... hanyus really one of a kind

to be honest i’ve never watched ice skating but yuzuru hanyu caught my eye he is amazing he glides on the ice with out even trying his spins and jumps look so natural i dont even know how to explain it
I just discovered Yuzu these past few weeks but I can already tell why he is the GOAT. Its like he's floating in the ice! Everything looks so graceful and elegant. I agree that the jumps/quads is what makes figure skating so exciting but its just one of the factor. I'd say artistry is what makes it so mesmerizing.
Just 4.5 minutes of him doing stroking practice with a few 3A and quads thrown in and already it's more beautiful than most competitive programs. He's just captivating to watch.
He is fantastic. No wonder Brian said he marvels at seeing Yuzu at practice. Brian sees that everyday. WOW! And yes, better than most men's and women's comp programs combined.

After I learned about Yuzu only 10 month ago, watched and rewatched every programme available of him and got more and more fascinated - now I stumbled over this video. This is so precious! Such a gem! The idea of combining his amazing practice routine with this music is fantastic, thank you so much! Imagine he did not have any music there actually. Just a few days ago he was asked in an interview whether it is difficult to always put so much emotion in his skating, and he replied it is difficult for him not to put any emotion! That is him! He is emotion and music! The moment he enters a rink he feels nothing than pure joy, even above pain. To see him gliding over the ice is the most beautiful thing I ever saw and felt. He still has the pure soul of a child, it can not be spoiled. Just mesmerising, enchanting! Now that he retired from competitive skating, to see a video like this comforts me and gives confidence he will have so much more to give to us.

I saw a ballet teacher commenting it’s like an adagio on ice, and she is right. When I first saw this footage I immediately thought about Muse, so there it is 😊 I hope one day, maybe in the next share practice, he gives us a chance to watch his cool down session for a few minutes. [This PC practice had music from other skaters’ programs playing while he was skating, actually.]

What a lovely thing to read. Thank you for writing Kurt's comment. Throughout Yuzuru's competitive years he has been very vocal about his admiration for Yuzuru. It really is like watching an animal. I joke that he is one with the ice but at those times, watching him just freely gliding on the ice, you can feel their connection even through a screen.
All these have to be learnt with endless daily effort and transform a jump as a beautiful ART! Gosh, what a guy you are Yuzu!!! A beautiful Lotus flower coming out from the dirty water of JSF (oops!) We’re all so fortunate to live in the Hanyu Era. He is just one of those skaters that can interpret and feel everything, he visually and physically transposes that for us on the ice. He respects it, and we respect him.
So beautiful, I washed Yuzuru skating in 2021 for a hundres of time . I'm happy everytime i see him especially when he skates because he is beauty, greatness, a person lauded for discipline and effort.Yuzuru teaches people that Success doesn't come easy. But it takes patience and effort.His perseverance, patient determination and genius were beautiful and grand. I pray to God bless Yuzuru and his family. and his coachs , God bless you.

He is a genius full of talent, with an extremely sharp mind who relentlessly strives to become better in everything he does, but it’s his discipline, hard work and self analysis that made him reach the technical and artistic level that no other skater has ever reached. There are some great interviews and documentaries where Yuzuru talks about his strategies to strengthen his mental health. He can teach us so much 🥰

I bet Yuzuru is really happy to see so many of us drooling over his beautiful skating skills. He has always been talented, and he was taught the correct technique since he started skating, but he pursued those skating skills like he was the worst skater ever. He never stopped wanting to be less than perfect. He looked at Patrick Chan's sublime skating skills and wanted to get there and surpass him. Patrick has always been one of his goals. Now Yuzuru stands as the sole representative of outstanding skating skills in the singles field. His mission was accomplished and surpassed.

Watching other skaters, yes they have power or skill but yuzuru has something in him that makes his programs a whole new universe. With every spin, pose and jump he does, it’s such a surreal moment. he never fails to impress me every time i see him skate, even though ive been a fan since the olympics.. it’s really an honor to be alive at the same time of yuzuru hanyu’s career, and it’s honestly something beyond figure skating for me. when he is on ice it’s not just a program, he performs with so much artistry and has the ability to connect his emotions to the audience. i cried when i watched hope and legacy for the first time as well:) idk how he is doing right now, but i hope yuzuru stays safe and healthy💜

Особенно на тренировках, этот парень в чёрной экипировке - выглядит совершенно неземным существом, спустившимся с небес, чтобы показать мастер-класс настоящего фигурного катания ... Эти простые - то ли упражнения- еxercise, то ли импровизации, - они выглядят как законченные, художественно оформленные композиции, причём сам Yuzuru, - испытывает не меньшее наслаждение от своего мягко-плавного скольжения, чем те немногие зрители за бортом арены, также как и их виртуальные "двойники". to be honest i’ve never watched ice skating but yuzuru hanyu caught my eye he is amazing he glides on the ice with out even trying his spins and jumps look so natural i dont even know how to explain it
I just discovered Yuzu these past few weeks but I can already tell why he is the GOAT. Its like he's floating in the ice! Everything looks so graceful and elegant. I agree that the jumps/quads is what makes figure skating so exciting but its just one of the factor. I'd say artistry is what makes it so mesmerizing.

Just 4.5 minutes of him doing stroking practice with a few 3A and quads thrown in and already it's more beautiful than most competitive programs. He's just captivating to watch.
He is fantastic. No wonder Brian said he marvels at seeing Yuzu at practice. Brian sees that everyday. WOW! And yes, better than most men's and women's comp programs combined.

Watching him glide and turn over the ice is hypnotizing and relaxing.
After I learned about Yuzu only 10 month ago, watched and rewatched every programme available of him and got more and more fascinated - now I stumbled over this video. This is so precious! Such a gem! The idea of combining his amazing practice routine with this music is fantastic, thank you so much! Imagine he did not have any music there actually. Just a few days ago he was asked in an interview whether it is difficult to always put so much emotion in his skating, and he replied it is difficult for him not to put any emotion! That is him! He is emotion and music! The moment he enters a rink he feels nothing than pure joy, even above pain. To see him gliding over the ice is the most beautiful thing I ever saw and felt. He still has the pure soul of a child, it can not be spoiled. Just mesmerising, enchanting! Now that he retired from competitive skating, to see a video like this comforts me and gives confidence he will have so much more to give to us.
Oh, what a lovely comment! Thank you for taking the time to write it. Yuzuru’s cool down sessions are legendary and so beautiful to watch. I saw a ballet teacher commenting it’s like an adagio on ice, and she is right. When I first saw this footage I immediately thought about Muse, so there it is 😊 I hope one day, maybe in the next share practice, he gives us a chance to watch his cool down session for a few minutes.

What a lovely thing to read. Thank you for writing Kurt's comment. Throughout Yuzuru's competitive years he has been very vocal about his admiration for Yuzuru. It really is like watching an animal. I joke that he is one with the ice but at those times, watching him just freely gliding on the ice, you can feel their connection even through a screen.
All these have to be learnt with endless daily effort and transform a jump as a beautiful ART! Gosh, what a guy you are Yuzu!!! A beautiful Lotus flower coming out from the dirty water of JSF (oops!) Looking at this COOL guy, again the heart got heated! Strongly hope in this season there’ll be no "???” after the announcement of the scores, and the strongest hope is they will evaluate that splendid art on the ice with the highest and most skilful technique in the right way!

So beautiful, I washed Yuzuru skating in 2021 for a hundres of time . I'm happy everytime i see him especially when he skates because he is beauty, greatness, a person lauded for discipline and effort.Yuzuru teaches people that Success doesn't come easy. But it takes patience and effort.His perseverance, patient determination and genius were beautiful and grand. I pray to God bless Yuzuru and his family. and his coachs , God bless you.

He is a genius full of talent, with an extremely sharp mind who relentlessly strives to become better in everything he does, but it’s his discipline, hard work and self analysis that made him reach the technical and artistic level that no other skater has ever reached. There are some great interviews and documentaries where Yuzuru talks about his strategies to strengthen his mental health. He can teach us so much 🥰

I bet Yuzuru is really happy to see so many of us drooling over his beautiful skating skills. He has always been talented, and he was taught the correct technique since he started skating, but he pursued those skating skills like he was the worst skater ever. He never stopped wanting to be less than perfect. He looked at Patrick Chan's sublime skating skills and wanted to get there and surpass him. Patrick has always been one of his goals. Now Yuzuru stands as the sole representative of outstanding skating skills in the singles field. His mission was accomplished and surpassed.

I cannot explain it...I have been a casual fan of skating for maybe 15 years, but more ice dance and pairs...I knew about Yuzu of course but never paid him attention...and last week I got a rec on my home page of Notte stellata and i fell in love. since then i have been obsessed, but I find myself coming back to this one again and again , he truly is magnificent

SC Chiu I would definitely agree, he shows elegance in his all programs like no one else. Watching other skaters, yes they have power or skill but yuzuru has something in him that makes his programs a whole new universe. With every spin, pose and jump he does, it’s such a surreal moment. Absolutely stunning.

he never fails to impress me every time i see him skate, even though ive been a fan since the olympics.. it’s really an honor to be alive at the same time of yuzuru hanyu’s career, and it’s honestly something beyond figure skating for me. when he is on ice it’s not just a program, he performs with so much artistry and has the ability to connect his emotions to the audience. i cried when i watched hope and legacy for the first time as well:) idk how he is doing right now, but i hope yuzuru stays safe and healthy💜
