Yuzu inspired me to try ice skating again recently - I vastly overestimated my own skills and struggled to do even the most basic movements, and my whole body hurt the next day. I was under no illusions that ice skating was easy, but I realised that I'd been focussing mostly on the jumps and spins to determine a skaters ability, and it was only once I'd been aggressively humbled that I found an appreciation for how smoothly Yuzu moves on the ice. Watching him skate makes you feel powerful because he makes it look so effortless. It's only once you compare him to other, more heavy footed skaters that you realise how gorgeous his footwork and transitions are; his attention to all details of his performance just exudes grace. You notice other skaters seem to forget their arms in performances because they're focussed on their footwork, but Yuzu brings such artistry to every stroke and always includes creative choreography that utilises his whole body to really draw you in - his flow is akin to a ballet dancer. So, in conclusion, no one skates quite like Yuzuru Hanyu. "I bet my life to skating every time" indeed.
Why the other skaters simply don't sit back and watch him skate. There's no one like him! I would. And after he finishes, I would resume my practice. How can they focus on anything else when Yuzuru is soooooo close.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰
Yeah, it really was. I’d recommend anyone watching Yuzuru’s competitions to NEVER miss a practice. You may see something spectacular and unprecedented that has never been seen in an official competition, like the several 4A attempts he did at GPF Torino. Plus practice is very important to him so he gives his all in practices too.

So I believe they actually benefit from it😊

I always thought male skating was a boring demonstration of power, full of stiff moves... few skaters were interesting... Johnny was interesting... no wonder I ended up loving Yuzu's style. He is a genius, I don't even know if figure skating will ever have another male skater like him, ever. He lives for FS, he loves the sport and wants to push it forward. His programs have a reason to exist. Otoñal and Origin are not the first time he paid homage to figure skating, he's been doing that for a long time: NDP, R&Js, Firebird, POTO, Danse Macabre. Yuzuru has revisited classic skating programs as well as bringing innovative stuff like SEIMEI, PW and LGC. Really, we are blessed to live in the Hanyu Era.

While Yuzuru, his expression, everything, just everything, bcome one with him, from the moment he entered the rink. Yuzuru mentioned he only did a couple of weeks of ballet, so his splendid carriage, his beautiful arms and hands are all self-thought. They are product from his undying love for figure skating and beauty, his talent and his never-ending search for perfection. As Belinda Noonan said "Hanyu Yuzuru is a genius"! One of the reasons for him to float on the ice are his excellent skating skills, the use of his edges, his strong core and knees. He already had good SS foundation when he started at TCC, but there they made him aware of how much better of a skater he'd be if he improved his already solid foundation. So together TCC team and Yuzuru's relentless dedication (and natural talent) made him an even faster, smoother and polished skater.

Njegove ruke su zaista anđeoske /ne pitajte me kako to znam/ Njegovi dugi prsti su okrenuti prema spolja što ukazuje na izuzetnu fleksibilnost koja krasi čoveka. Takvi prsti imaju još bolji efekat u njegovom izražavanju tokom plesa. Posebno ako se zna da on igra i kliže celim svojim bićem!!!! Oči mogu i da lažu, ruke ne. It’s nerve-racking, isn’t it? 😩 you’re not wrong to feel that way… Have you heard of the horrible crash on the ice Yuzuru was involved in, the season after his first Olympic title? There is a rule in figure skating that says whoever has their music playing has complete right of way. Unfortunately not all skaters respect that. But the worst is not that, the worst is when there’s no skater’s music playing and you still see some getting on each other‘s way like Bradie Tennell did to Rika Kihira several times during GPF Torino.
@@ValHanyu I am from South Africa and sadly this is not a sport here. I absolutely adore figure skating and would give anything to attend these contests. But luckily there is such a thing as You Tube😜 I saw the horrible crash and his performance after the accident. My heart broke as I watched him fight. As a mother I could only imagine what his own family went through. I think he is the absolute best because of the passion he puts in every performance.😊🌺
It’s his beautiful 4T3T (quad toe triple toe combo) 😍 and since we’re talking about jumps may I point out the Saut de Basque (a ballet jump!!!) he does right after the hydroblade? No else does that 😭 ballet dancers do it on dry land, with ballet shoes that weigh nothing, whereas Yuzu does it with heavy skating boots, affer a hydroblade AND at the end of his program 👏🏻

Yuzuru is magical, regardless of costumes and I'll say also regardless of programs because you could watch him just doing his cool down routine and be mesmerized. Hello... sorry but I visited and revisit every practice session and full program videos 😁😄😅 other skaters only won when Yuzu made mistakes. And Yuzu made mistakes only when he got injuries that wasn't 100% healed during competition (at times still won with that condition) For Olympic 2018 he had only 6 weeks for prep after rehabilitation and literally took baby step after baby step. Yet he managed to get gold! It was in an interview with Brian Orser that I came to know. That's why a commentator said "I swear he's not human", "He's half robot half alien", "the other worldly Yuzuru Hanyu", "a combination of Beatles, One Direction, & Beyonce" 😅🤣

Wow 🤩 I just watched him. You were not kidding when you said Hanyu inspired 🥹The step sequence 🥹 even the pivots, skaters rarely do pivots anymore 😭 the saut de basque! The many twizzles, not to mention the lunge and the fluidity! I saw the FS too and was glad he dropped some of the arms aloft, his jumps are already beautiful he doesn’t need them. Oh wow what a promise! Thank you for showing him to me, I’ll keep an eye on him. This is a good week, Mone Chiba just medaled at 4CC and she’s still a Jr. It’s so good to see beautiful young skaters 💕
Sorry for the delay. It's Otoñal by Raul di Blasio. It was first skated by Johnny Weir in the 2000's. It left a huge impression on Yuzuru so now, after he met his goal of winning 2 Olympics, he decided to "skate for himself", as he said, and pay homage to two skaters who helped form his skating style: Weir and Plushenko (in his free program Origin).

One of the reasons for him to float on the ice are his excellent skating skills, the use of his edges, his strong core and knees. He already had good SS foundation when he started at TCC, but there they made him aware of how much better of a skater he'd be if he improved his already solid foundation. So together TCC team and Yuzuru's relentless dedication (and natural talent) made him an even faster, smoother and polished skater.

А особенно в этом контексте меня поразила "White legend". Очень короткая миниатюра, но за это время Yuzu продемонстрировал всё, на что способен и превзошёл сам себя. Балет в "рафинированной" экспозиции... Батманы, специфика телодвижений и, конечно же, - совершенно изумительные руки, - позиции которых годами "ставят" в балетных классах. Редкой красоты зрелище !.. Знает ли Yuzu балерину Г. Уланову, - понятия не имею, - но у меня, глядя на на него, - возникли ассоциации именно с ней. Такого феномена, как Hanyu Yuzuru в фигурном катании никогда не было и не будет. Остаётся только позавидовать самим себе, что мы имеем такое счастье в нашей жизни. 💐🌞💐

Yuzuru Hanyu ima u sebi unutrašnju lepotu koja se manifestovala na fizičko telo. Njegove ruke su zaista anđeoske /ne pitajte me kako to znam/ Njegovi dugi prsti su okrenuti prema spolja što ukazuje na izuzetnu fleksibilnost koja krasi čoveka. Takvi prsti imaju još bolji efekat u njegovom izražavanju tokom plesa. Posebno ako se zna da on igra i kliže celim svojim bićem!!!! Oči mogu i da lažu, ruke ne. Aktuelni šampion /videla sam i njegove ruke/ ...... da ne trošim reči....

As I said in another comment similar to yours: the skaters in practice with Yuzu have a bigger audience, plus they also have a chance to see excellence right beside them. Many skaters (recently I remember Camden Pulkinen and Shun Sato) who have shared ice time with Yuzu say it's a great opportunity to see his flawless technique up close and learn something. So I believe they actually benefit from it😊

It’s nerve-racking, isn’t it? 😩 you’re not wrong to feel that way… Have you heard of the horrible crash on the ice Yuzuru was involved in, the season after his first Olympic title? There is a rule in figure skating that says whoever has their music playing has complete right of way. Unfortunately not all skaters respect that. But the worst is not that, the worst is when there’s no skater’s music playing and you still see some getting on each other‘s way like Bradie Tennell did to Rika Kihira several times during GPF Torino.
@@ValHanyu I am from South Africa and sadly this is not a sport here. I absolutely adore figure skating and would give anything to attend these contests. But luckily there is such a thing as You Tube😜 I saw the horrible crash and his performance after the accident. My heart broke as I watched him fight. As a mother I could only imagine what his own family went through. I think he is the absolute best because of the passion he puts in every performance.😊🌺

It’s his beautiful 4T3T (quad toe triple toe combo) 😍 and since we’re talking about jumps may I point out the Saut de Basque (a ballet jump!!!) he does right after the hydroblade? No else does that 😭 ballet dancers do it on dry land, with ballet shoes that weigh nothing, whereas Yuzu does it with heavy skating boots, affer a hydroblade AND at the end of his program 👏🏻

Yuzuru is magical, regardless of costumes and I'll say also regardless of programs because you could watch him just doing his cool down routine and be mesmerized.

Hello... sorry but I visited and revisit every practice session and full program videos 😁😄😅 other skaters only won when Yuzu made mistakes. And Yuzu made mistakes only when he got injuries that wasn't 100% healed during competition (at times still won with that condition) For Olympic 2018 he had only 6 weeks for prep after rehabilitation and literally took baby step after baby step. Yet he managed to get gold! It was in an interview with Brian Orser that I came to know. That's why a commentator said "I swear he's not human", "He's half robot half alien", "the other worldly Yuzuru Hanyu", "a combination of Beatles, One Direction, & Beyonce" 😅🤣

Wow 🤩 I just watched him. You were not kidding when you said Hanyu inspired 🥹The step sequence 🥹 even the pivots, skaters rarely do pivots anymore 😭 the saut de basque! The many twizzles, not to mention the lunge and the fluidity! I saw the FS too and was glad he dropped some of the arms aloft, his jumps are already beautiful he doesn’t need them. Oh wow what a promise! Thank you for showing him to me, I’ll keep an eye on him. This is a good week, Mone Chiba just medaled at 4CC and she’s still a Jr. It’s so good to see beautiful young skaters 💕

Sorry for the delay. It's Otoñal by Raul di Blasio. It was first skated by Johnny Weir in the 2000's. It left a huge impression on Yuzuru so now, after he met his goal of winning 2 Olympics, he decided to "skate for himself", as he said, and pay homage to two skaters who helped form his skating style: Weir and Plushenko (in his free program Origin).
