- After Ed Bolian set the record for the NY to LA Cannonball Run he discovered another band of outlaws that had taken a different approach to paying homage to the legendary races of the 1970s. He decided to try to find a car to participate in their low budget cross country race - The 2904. He found this 12 owner, 2 accident, salvage title S55 with the airbags previously deployed and the frame damaged on Craigslist Las Vegas and bought it for $1,500.

Ed Bolian You could find in TH-cam, 3 Lambos with Singapore REG invovled in a pile up which caught fire on the MALAYSIA North-South PLUS Highway....and the funny part is, the drivers ain't the owner, they just ditch the cars and took a bus back to Singapore...l am too lazy to look for the link.

This guy is one of the best story tellers I have ever seen.
So I've been having a really really bad few months lately and I just have to say, listening to any of ed's stories always helps to cheer me up. He might not see this but I just wanted to leg him know I love cars I love vinwiki and all of these stories are extremely entertaining and definitely help a bad day to feel better. My first taste of an AMG was when we took that car on the Rally! I couldn't believe how well it handled with all that fuel and extra weight.

Ed so much blew away the record of 2904, they have to made a special Ed Bolian Clause to the rule. Only pre-OBD II car are now allowed.

I drove a $1,900 Mercedes e300d Diesel from Los Angeles to New Orleans cost me about 200 fuel 36 hours solo. Wasn't really trying for time though.

Thanks. Yes, it was quite a laundry list. In addition to the clutch, throwout bearing, rear main seal, all fluids, all filters, tires, brakes, wheel repair, bumper repairs, etc. there was a ton of stuff I have forgotten in the last 6 years.
$19-20k total.

01-02 was 355 hp. 03-06 was 493.
