    Did mine 2005 GMC 2500 6.6, got the part of off amazon, much cheaper than GM, needed to use the harness that came with kit, tried to stick the connects together without it. Took me a while to tell it was off by a little. Harness worked fine. Engine DID NOT have to relearn, cleared the codes with just a regular OBO code reader, cross my fingers Turbos working like new again.

      What brand?

      Well I changed the Vane sensor and the boost control solenoid and the codes came right back.

    Did you get the sensor re-learned? I changed my out about two years ago. Now it sounds the same as it did back then. Like air flopping while on idle. Turbo is getting charged in a few weeks. Going to install a new sensor as well.

      Yes, it was relearned on its own. It's been working pretty good. I do get now if the truck sits a few days the turbo unison ring gets struck but after a few mins, of driving it comes out of it. And it is fine the rest of the time.

    I use a couple cement blocks with a board on top to make a scaffold to stand on. Gets me just about the right height and doesn't move around on me.

    I HOPE YOURE BEING HONEST. U say the code came back on that means the sensor didn’t fix the problem. I changed the same sensor and I changed the turbo boost control solenoid and the codes still came back and I didn’t get it relearned.
    Either there’s another problem, the sensors I bought don’t work or it needs to be relearned. It’s 1 of the 3. Or even 2 of the 3.

      The my truck relearned it all I did was drive it. Yes the code clears itself, it will not be in your active codes. You see that has been stored list. Depending on your scan tool. I do get code once great while. When the truck sits for few days and not used. I have figured that out. But once I start driving about 400 feet it works again. I hope you didn't buy the cheapest one out there. I know when I looked at the they were from 50 to 300 bucks. I when in the middle of the price range. I know that my Unison ring in must be getting stuck in the turbo, it has 310 thousand miles on the stock turbo now. Happens when it sit for long time. Still driving it every day, down the road on day, since I've done this video. I haven't brought in a shop.

      If I was go out to my truck right now it wouldn't be in the active codes. The is only trigger when get stuck. Then it show up again. If clear all codes it will not be in stored it gets stuck. Which it be in the active till it does it drive cycle and the in only in the stored codes. Which is very rare now. If I had say it happens about twice a month and usually happens when I drive my other truck and let Duramax sit. Maybe I should do update video on this. This really all I can tell you from what happened my truck. I really wish I could help you with your. Maybe the sensor isn't good, maybe your Unison ring is really stuck and wore the slot and pin. That doesn't let it function. Maybe that your truck does need to be relearned. Maybe the solenoid change cause that it needs to be relearned. That I'm not sure of I didn't do my solenoid. What I would do is call Is Ryan's diesel service in Wisconsin ask that question. See if they can share that information.

    Take off the air resonator! Take off sensor with a wrench. Connect the wire is all you had to do.You went through a lot of trouble but glad it’s running

      But as the vid described getting the old wire out whole is the problem

      Exactly I used a 26 MM WRENCH TOO EASY LOL. prob could of even used a crescent wrench.

    So what code popped up? Also did you have to relearn the sensor after a few days? I gotta do this to my truck.

    • @detailisretail
      @detailisretail  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I didn't have to bring it in and have a relearn done by the dealer. In two days, the truck relearned its self. But I don't drive a lot like most people. My truck is running fine. my code was P0046

      @@detailisretail I have P0046 and P2563 which some people say replacing the sensor will take care of both most of the time. Also Im guessing they only made 06-13 sensor thats why they give you the adapter. Been reading the reviews on the link they been saying the it wont work on 04.5-05.

    • @detailisretail
      @detailisretail  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dirtslingger12B Not sure on the 06-13, I didn't use them at all. Mine just plug right in. It might have been changed before, I don't know all the history of the truck only had it for two years. My check engine light has been on since I bought the truck. The EGR isn't working and I changed my turbo mouthpiece. I haven't addressed that yet. How I know there was something wrong from the poorer mileage and the sound of the turbo. Sometimes at startup, it would sound like it was venting pressure. So I didn't need to have a code reader to know that something was wrong. I'm the type who would rather listen to my engine run than have the radio on.
