So true, we know that. 50 years behind, we can only dream of the same relationship as with China. President Trump wanted to do some big deals with Africa, he has already invited African leaders to the White House. Maybe if the contracts are mutually beneficial.

We are not God nor Saint. We are just looking for win win cooperation. The cooperation based on mutual respect. Chinese people know how it feels to be poor and desperate. We were so poor, so desperate and deeply bullied. We just hope that the world to be a peaceful and wealthy place everywhere. By developing the new market together, both Africa and China gain their benefit together.

Some very positive comments here. The next stage for Africa is going something about security. The more developed Africa becomes the greater the security threat will be.

Africa needs to realize that they MUST be able to develop technology on its own and not look for "handouts" or "help" from anyone. This will require a cultural change at the family level. A desire to deeply learn very very complex science and a desire to improve that knowledge at a world level. NOT training, but education.

nothing is free. in return for technology, china will take minerals and resources back to commie land. and leave massive pollution behind. water contamination. if they pollute their own country, what makes anyone think they give a sh*t about africa?

I did a QUICK search looking for any reports of "massive pollution" due to the railway construction and found none. I understand this doesn't mean there are no environmental impacts or other oppositions. As you know, the railway operations have been turned over to Kenya and doing quite well considering the size of the project. And yes, I'm sure China is not doing it for free but it's more of a win-win for both nations than anything I've seen from other countries. If you have a source that talks about the pollution, please post.

I'm not Chinese. I'm not Asian however China,s Silk Road brings trade to the world helping under developed countries to grow. Africa is rich in natural minerals & that would be great trade for them should China help develop that. As long as Africa is aware there will be a cost. Russia has greatly developed through China's assistance. China seems fair & they're not killing people on their journey.

The great Chinese industrialization did not happen without the help of the USSR, a strategic ally. China's industrialization started with transportation, and agricultural systems development. It appears that they are using their own model of success with Africa. And as in the past is doing it in the face of the west. It is up to Africa to define the strategy when dealing with China. Greed will only take us so far, look at the west...

    • @Bombfun

CRBC China Road and Bridge Construction has orders worth US200 Billions in hand, I believe, with net profit only 2-3%. Such projects in Africa and Indian sub-continent earn very little but has a great Chinese influence in the third world countries, gathering a momentum for political support in the United Nations and inter-continents where China needs supporters.

The Kenian professor is bragging as far education level of kenian. How do you measure kenians are higher number of educated people compared to the 54 african countries? If so what kept you building the railroad? I used to live in kenia and all the univeristies, hospitals, the limited number of indusries, and businesses almost most skilled labour is handled by british, indian, and other nationals. Majority of eduicated kenians reside in nairobi and suberb areas.
The hghest eduicated population in africa is nigerians, even that appear hard to confirm knowing nigerians conning behavior/culture.

The biggest problem black African countries have is believing in themselves it's funny how China has its own continent the Europeans have their own continent the Americans have their own continent but everybody needs something from the black man's continent
if the black man in Africa we'll stop being greedy and corrupt and unify all of its countries organize all of the African Countries
the black African does not need one dime from the Chinese Africa has all of the wealth right there within its resources it just has not learned how to turn its natural resources into
when have you ever seen a country come to help another country and dump one whole million of its people off

Europeans were not and will not assist in the progress of Africa. Keep up the good work China. You will be rewarded by being asked to build Chinese military bases near South Africa for a peaceful take over. China you will gain 45% of SA resources for you good deeds. Keep doing good and building your military China.

  • @justinaackah6515

We only need Chinese expats not security men, cooks etc. We should speak the truth. What is the need for Chinese doctors in Nigeria? The government says he doesn't know anything about their arrival. Can they be military men. Another Chinese doctors in Zimbabwe. We've also heard Chinese built 13 police station and Chinese police are the ones that are there. What if they are special military trained men. Who knows what they can do to us in future. But in any case is it advisable to open up your security to another nation? Will Chinese allow Africa to do that in China?

You should be building your own infrastructure. I would be embarrassed if I were always reporting on other countries building infrastructure for me. No sense of self determination, pride or sufficiency. This is why they think that we are lazy and stupid. You have all of these universities yet you don't add value to your goods or provide jobs for your people via a manufacturing base. Pathetic.

This piece of reporting in degrading to Kenya, is that first shot the best she could find? her outlook is condescending as if Kenyans may not be capable to understand this technology, i refuse to listen to her crappy interview. if the Chinese was allowed to converse in his local tongue why did the Kenyan have to converse in a language in which he obviously is not comfortable? its so easy to pay blacks to insult other blacks!

I just want when other black critics other black that they are constructive and understanding don't just disagree but give a why you don't agree. We need more African to be interested in Africa!
