Why is he consistent then? because he drives differently from other fast guys outside. Even Max make mistakes but most often those mistakes doesn't manifest to fuck up his race in longitivity.( We'll yeah maybe others)He has that margin within himself. He drives differently

Driving every corner on the edge of track limits is amazing. And that lap after lap.

so surprised to see him not even using his 6th gear in the fast section before the last chicane. he is using a m4 GT3 right? must have modified his own gear ratios in game.
Yeah, he's driving a BMW M4 GT3. It's not modified, just a setup adjustment. :)
also, that straight is uphill. staying in 5th gear with higher rpm (more torque) is simply faster

@@Shifftee yes the long section leading up to the bus stop chicane, turn 15 to 18, flat out on 5th and i’ve been using 6th the entire time. will give this a try.

It’s not possible to get telemetry data and inputs in spectator mode, but you can see some data, like top speed, in the video on lap data.

That’s the in-game time. Max ended his driving stints around 4 AM Hungarian time.
why is the video of him driving not from his actual screen? you can tell it's a replay or someone else watching it live cause the inputs are slightly wacky.

The race started at 12:00 GMT on Saturday and ended at 12:00 GMT today. He was driving at night for three stints and finished around 4:00 AM local Hungarian time. BTW, what is Zulu time?

I don’t see why people praise Max. Hungaroring was a pure example of how lack of sleep and huge physical load affects peoples mood. He should pick either one or the other. It would be okay it he actually put the game down and focus on the race ahead, maybe we would see what he’s truly capable of but rn I see iRacing as hinderance to his F1 career…

Max was not petulant at all, it was literally just anger and frustration as anyone that is dedicated to something feels. His team made a lot of mistakes aswell.
His engineer never called him childish, he meant that the discussion between the stewards and Mercedes was very childish and that he wouldn't fight them. The fact that people interpreted this as him calling Max childish is MENTAL, because Max was not being childish at all.
