I checked in 1957, with 3 Big Brothers and 4 Sisters, I heard The Best! My Favorite by these Men: When You Get Right Down To It and Trying To Make A Fool Of Me!
I was born in 1961, and this is our music. Not the music they doing today. We didn't have this. These singers will record their voices to electronically created sounds and then the engineer will put it all together, but when they get on stage, most are performing to the engineered release of their tracks. I know this because I'm one of those engineers. Thanks Gwen for your comment. This is our music.
Our music is pre-hightech created. No voice machine. No computer generated music or harmonies. No beat box. Real musicians. Real singers. People that sound the same on the radio or in your living room. When you can blow and harmonize in acapella, that's real authentic singing. Never duplicated.
The Delfonics made the BEST slow songs EVER. All of their songs are swoon worthy. I even had a boy ask me to go with him while slow-dragging to one of their songs at a basement party in 1972. I still listen to their music 🎶 ❤😍
You are absolutely and ultimately on point! No matter the length of time that I don't hear a song by my boys--each time that I do-tears join the party. And it has really nothing to do with a past love. It is just something about the way these guys just can bring their simple words together. I will forever be a Delfonic guy.
Yes ! Our artists simply went into a studio, with a group of musicians and sang their hearts out ! Happy to have grown up on this type of music ! Glad you appreciate it too !
Oh my...memories of young love, slow dancing, and just plain laid back and listening. They were backed up by TSOP an entire orchestra based in Philadelphia ( The Sound of Philadelphia )
This song 🥲🥲🥲 I Got Goosebumps. The voices are so iconic and the message is so heartfelt they poured they heart and soul out to those girls back then ❤️
Black music talent was overflowing, and the lyrics were mostly about love. I know now that the powers-that-be subverted the R&B genre, I believe, because of our global appeal. Not to get too political, but from Big Band to Motown to Pop and Rap, we cover it all.
Wow, this takes me back when I was a teenager and would have a radio by my bed at night and listen to these songs. Today, some would call them simp(s). But, these simp(s) got attracted a lot of women.
Hello Ms. Ashley, I enjoy your reactions to the old school music. I would greatly appreciate if you would react to Ms. Marlena Shaw - "Go Away Little Boy." Please listen to end. Thank you.
I was seventeen when this song came out. Back in the day I had every album the delfonics came out with, great song an memories. I'm glad you had the opportunity Ashley to enjoy it
I’m old enough to remember that album when it was brand new. Every morning before school I would put on that album, followed by The Jackson 5. I think my family got so tired of me being the first one getting to the record player that my younger sister and brother started getting up before me to turn on the local Black AM radio station.
Quarter parties (Basement), Swedish knit pants/ sharkskin suits/ beaver hats/ high roll collar shirts starched to the max & sippin on some boone's farm 🍾 strawberry hill !!! We was so spoiled and didn't even know it!! Best musical era EVER!! Ahhh the memories!! TJHS Class of seventy-deuce (72) #StoneColdClassic🔥🔥🔥
I Gave To You brings a tear to my eye every time. So pure and beautiful. (P.S. I know it’s going on your Grandmother’s playlist!) (P.P.S. Can someone start playing horns like the one @10:01 again? They really used to set ballads off!)
I don't know who came up with this simp sh@# our women feet was not supposed to touch the ground. We need this kind of love back in our communities. We were lovers not killers.
👍 Yep, this era regularly produced songs in praise of women and about deep heartfelt love. Can't stand the filthy, degrading, vulgar noise that passes as music.
A lot of great classic music evokes memories of childhood and teenage years. But the Delfonics were a mainstay on WNJR and for my Brick City family memories of the brother who used to sell the “Bootleg” tapes inside @Cooper’s deli🎼🔥
Correction, Kanye produced that Teyanna Taylor song and sampled that Delfonics record for her song. In typical Kanye fashion, being able to chop TF outta that first few seconds of the guitar and speed up the vocals, my goodness. An acquaintance of mine, Adrian Younge got a chance to work with William Bell of the Delfonics and made a song and put out a video called, "And You Have Found Love". I missed out on being in the video due to work obligations...lol
DATING, BACK THEN "60'S & 70'S + WAS "BEAUTIFUL"!!!😊❤ THE (CONCERTS, HOUSE PARTIES,ETC. WAS WONDERFUL AND LOVING ❤️. THE BEAUTIFUL 1970,S MY ERA WHEN YOU GET THAT LAST DANCE WITH YOUR GIRL YOU JUST WANT TIME TO STAND STILL RIGHT THERE
You have to hear The Ebonys Forever, another classic Soul song and Group
The great Tom Bell orchestration was apparent in all their songs, the background music was beautiful, clearly evident in both of this songd

You need to check out the live performances around the time they recorded these songs, from the 60's and 70's.
