Why not reveal salaries of the UN personnel? I have a guess that a monthly wage of a regular P4 can cover monthly expenses of a village somewhere in Africa.

The salaries of UN staff is public and is pegged against the US civil service salary scale. It is higher than most countries in the developing world, but it is a fair pay for the work that they do, especially since they have to leave their home country and also commensurate with recruiting staff with sufficient qualifications and experience. What you need to focus on is the share of salaries of the world's corporations/private sector where the salaries of the factory workers are less than a millionth times that of the CEO! And besides who would ensure that small village in Africa actually receives the money! Agreed the UN could be more efficient and impactful but this is organizational rather than staff salaries. Just putting your question into perspective!

@@ruxlin5916, First, private sector generates income, so it is completely beside the point. Second, by mentioning wages of the UN personnel and spendings on the organisation itself, I wanted to draw attention to the fact that organisational expenses make probably two thirds of its budget and just one third actually comes to the people in need, which is not fair, at all. I have an assumption that people, liked this video, are the UN staff, or connected to it somehow or want to work there. Third, I strongly believe that UN staff as well as staff of other big international humanitarian organisations should be driven by humanitarian principles rather than material if you know what I mean. I've met numbers of UN personnel, ICRC employees and some other organisations whose first motivation was DSA or BLA. At the same time, there were small NGOs, which employes worked to help those in needs wholeheartedly, despite being paid modesty.

I'm sorry but the US sent 18 billion to the UN IN 2022!! That's more than 3.6 billion if my math is right.

He didn't mention the enormous salaries of UN staff, and wasteful expenditure on lavish offices.

Have you ever seen the requirements for ANY job at the UN? Do you expect people who can speak multiple languages, usually owning years of experience and several high-level degrees, to work for free?

@@igor_patrick They are ordinary people with extraordinary salaries.
