The sensor should be cleaned with an approved EGR and Carb cleaner. If you’re renewing the sensor, the part number is 1181041B02. If you already know how to remove the air cleaner assembly, jump to 5:36 in the video to get straight to the PCV valve removal.
Faulty or clogged PCV valve symptoms include:
• Rough idle
• Engine misfire
• Poor fuel economy
• Possible check engine light on the dash
• Whining or whistling noise from the engine
• Excessive suction at the oil filler cap
• Possible oil leaks caused by increased crankcase pressure
• Poor engine performance

This careful step by step approach without silly music or unnecessary chatter is exemplary.
Thank you :)
I did a terrible mistake by buying a new valve including gasket for like 3€ incl. shipping from AliExpress. Since pcv valves are very simply constructed, I thought there couldn't go anything wrong. It's just a plastic housing with a spring and a simple piece to close the hole inside. Guess what, that new valve got stuck in closed position occasionally which caused pressure in the engine clock and forced engine oil into the burning chambers, which also caused stuttering performance and a lot of smoke. Now I use my 20 year old original Nissan valve again, cleaned with an ultra sonic cleaning device and now I don't have any problems anymore. At least the new gaskets is doing it's job.
Thank you for the video and the whole Micra K12 Playlist. Was a huge help for me so far!
You're welcome, thanks for watching !
May I use Electronic Circuit Cleaner Spray for these cleannings?
Nice video quick question i have misfire cylinder 2 remove sparks plug and was full of petrol and the rest of cylinder is clean do u know what could be thanks
It sounds likely that it's a faulty spark plug or ignition coil that's not igniting the fuel.

Thank you !
sir, what is the difference between CRC,WD40 and EGR cleaner?
Perfect
Thank you !
What are the symptoms of a dirty pc valve?
I added them to the video description
A bad PCV can cause poor idle, rough acceleration, poor fuel economy and other problems.
Is there any chance that you could
do the same video for the 206?
I don't have the 206 any more, sorry
Hallo. Great video. Is it the same PCV valve for Micra k12 1.4 65kW (88HP), made in 2004? Thank you.
Thanks, It should be similar but you might need to take it out to double check it
Thank you for your reply. My wife owns the described Micra. It started consuming a lot of oil (1 liter of oil per 1000km). And also it has backfire from exhaust when throttle is reliesed, so I have doubts that the PCV valve is stuck in open position. Do you think that this make sense?
hello, what role does that valve have, please?
When the engine is running, any gases that blow past the pistons and into the crankcase are rerouted through this valve back into your engine's combustion chambers rather than vented into the atmosphere, like in the old days.
Can This Cause The Car To Misfire ?
It's one possible symptom of a faulty or clogged pcv valve
Can you do this without disconnecting the battery?
yes, but advisable to cover the top of the battery with a towel or rag to avoid shorting it out with tools.
Or else check Engine might show
Can pcv valve cause smoke in cold start
It's one possibility. Check this link: www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/know-how/engine-smoking-why-its-happening-and-what-to-do/
If it is very clocked up, then yes. It can cause pressure in the engine and force engine oil into the burning chamber, which causes smoke. Happened to me with a faulty valve, which got stuck and kept closed.
Hej.
Is it the exact same as the valve in this video ?
Podgrzałem suszarka do włosów i wyszło.
Well done ! :)
Pozdrav, imam problem Sa micra 1.6 drzi veliki ler gas i varira gore dole drzi na 2000 rpm i idem do 2500rpm
Is the engine light coming on ?
@screwsnutsandbolts no, there are no errors on the diagnostics
@screwsnutsandbolts i can't check throttle position or maf sensor parameters

Yes, it could possibly be a faulty pcv valve causing the problem. They are quite inexpensive so it's a good idea to renew it first and see if it fixes the problem.
I live in Greece and today I went to the Nissan dealership to ask about same pcv but for Nissan Almera and they told it cost 61 euros and the seal 6 euros.

Nissan k12 2004 1 lite - engine dies upon start up if you dont hit the gas straight the way -ive done new plugs / new coils / new fuel pump / crank sen / cam sensor / new air intake filter / cleaned the throttle body / any ideas at all was thinking change the main 02 sensor - at a loss -
Is the throttle body motor working ?. When you turn the ignition to the 'on' position you should be able to hear it working for a few seconds
Just checked now I think I can hear it working when the key is in the on position - you think it might be a throttle body problem ? I’m delivering pizzas / deliveroo, work - about 70k on the clock, atm maybe I should change pvc valve? and o2 sensor ?before the cat and new throttle body and cross my fingers - don’t want to spend to much 😮 stacking cash to buy a tidy little 1.4 or 1.6 Vtti Toyota auris / Corolla - pretty much my dream car, they look really well made, maybe 150k or 200k with regular maintenance - going to struggle to get 100 thousand miles out of the little Nissan - she’s had a bloody hard life but less than 100,000 miles is so so so disappointing, / I really really need something well engineered that can run and run - devouring the Toyota auris Haynes manual atm see if it’s going to be the car for me - what’s your thoughts on the most reliable small car for under 3k
Think its electric power steering on the k12 - it’s like manna from heaven for delivering - in and out of tight spots all day and night, and the turning circle is phenomenal for delivery work, - test drove several different Corolla and as nice as they are the steering doesn’t compare for delivery work - but think build quality may be far superior 😊
Just ordered new throttle body fingers crossed - anything else it could be got about £500 to throw at it 😂
