If i dropped my procrastination and i was there I'd help you Pull those Zip Board Roof panels off of the house and build the A Frame connecting into the existing house roof Trusses in the attic. Then wed zip board back over the A frame and tie It all back into the house & have it all done & dried in in a day or less. But I'm 4 States away from you and all i can do is make suggestions and chew my fingernails watching as i procrastinate my own projects... 😂

Don't feel bad, our power went out Thanksgiving day while the bird was in the oven just as my mom was thinking the worst thing that could happen would be for the power to go out. Dinner was a little late but being with family made it great!

I helped my DAD, with building decks and additions, for people. I understand the concepts for leveling everything. DAD was great at it. You have that roof flat tho. No pitch for the runoff. I was just finding it sort of strange. With the rain, snow you might get there. Love yal. Prayers Always
The main reason to make an abundance of tasty side dishes ( mushroom green beans, stove top dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, etc.) for Thanksgiving is in case the turkey is a bust. Lots of pies and cool whip make everything right. Beautiful tree. Merry Christmas.

I'm sure you'll take the winter months to start working on the upstairs inside to get you all moved in sometime in 2025. Here's hoping with Trump winning that prices go down on building supplies so you can afford to get done what you need to.! You two are awesome and hard workers. So nice to see how you care so much for each other and the kids. Do you think now you'll send the kids back to school since all the crap they were teaching will not be happening anymore? I was a teacher for years and I never heard of half the stuff they are teaching theses kids. It confuses them for sure but with strong parenting you can teach your children that no matter what no one can change you. God made you as you are. I have a 13 year old granddaughter who says some teachers are crazy but she ignores them. That's because my two daughters are teachers and tell them be respectful but ignore dumb things. lol all six of my grandkids are pretty smart and don't listen to BS. I'm sure your kids don't either. It's hard work homeschooling kids but it does teach them better social skills. being in school. You do you, but I'd love to see the kids interacting with others than you friends kids. Kwim. They are lovely children but need other kids to grow. Just my opinion. Your kids your way. Love you all!! ❤️💖

Lol, live and learn. In-laws flew out one Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving morning came, my turkey was frozen solid. So , I snuck outside. Car in the driveway slopping down, so I coasted down the road in neutral. Started the car , and drove 30 mind one way to the only store selling unfrozen fresh turkeys and got back before they woke up. I have never grinned a turkey. Butter basting works well. Put some under the skin too.😊
I'm glad the kids are fine though. Things happen and kids sometimes get hurt during play. They love each other and will laugh at this when they are adults🥰🥰🥰

Gary must own a nail mill. I love his sense of pride in ownership. However, this construction method is sooo much overkill and triple as expensive as it should be! The framing for that small a gable roof is strong enough to support several tons of "anything"! Wow!

So, it’s taken you about 3 years to get this far, paying cash as you go(& Gary’s engineering this to be a bomb shelter 😂)so, 3 more years & you’ll be sitting on the deck enjoying it. Keep a checklist of all the tasks as you go. Checking things off will keep you motivated.

A thought. Can you make the stairs up to the landing anytime soon? It would certainly ease access while you are framing the roof.
We don't plan to build them until our metal is on the roof or at least in route to be.

I would have wrap around porch with you door on side so you could enjoy front view through windows ! But You have plan and you cabin looks ace 👍
Their original plan was to have a total wrap around porch, but realized it was going to be too expensive and didn't want to go into debt to build it.

The roof is taped, what you are seeing is "ice and water shield", a protective layer that goes under the metal 💚
