Pascale. We've been with you and Troy for a long time on your many adventures, and you have brought a lot of joy and fun into our lives. Please know that you and your family are loved.
Thank you for letting us celebrate her through old videos and pictures. I was always drawn to her being so intelligent as she watched, learned and just listened to her Mom n Dad growing up. I had missed seeing her around as much as before and wondered what she might be up to. I’m so sorry that she had that bad habit with roos. She is free from all restraints now and happy though missin yall. Thank you Ms. Jet for being such a likable and true friend to your family. You are missed as well as very loved for your sweet spirit. Thank you Pascale and Troy for making that home for her. Hopefully her spirit returns in some way as you go about the block reminiscing her presence. May comfort find you some rejuvenation as life goes on. Gotta love all you can, including yourself. Give yourself some time to ‘just be still’ and thankful. You all are loved. Take care.
Pascale and Troy, I feel your pain at the loss of Jet, my 15 year old labradoodle passed in June, theirs now a huge void in my life that he filled for so long ( his name was Sailor). What a shock with jet, and for you to have gotten into the dam to retrieve her Pascale says a lot about your strength and obvious compassion. Constance is growing fast and I love that adorable little outfit she’s wearing. Take care, be kind on yourselves, Pascale perhaps its time for a nice swim in the ocean.
Sending all of you some love from California. Losing a pet, even a working pet is hard but I know you gave her a beautiful 3 years, Thank You for that 💞 Rest and know Pasquale you are on a very challenging path as the moment of a young one and a homesteader. The hours can feel so long and like you will never get to a more carefree spot, but they will. Until then, be gentle with yourself and don't stress the small stuff, and yes, that includes YT. You are doing an amazing job. 💞💜💞
You and Troy have taken to farmsteading like nobody I’ve ever seen before. Your skills in the kitchen and garden have so impressed me and obviously others who follow your channel. Kudos and know that you bring joy to so many.
When pets reach the end of their journey it is so much tougher than we believe it could be. They become a part of us in the short time that their lives are gifted into our care. Feeling for you all.
What a wonderful life! The dream! My wife and I have been following your channel since sailing, and I cant lie: I was almost sad you stopped sailing. But now, I think this is another magnificent dream come true. Absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Watching you from the other side of the world in the United States! I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. We've lost 2 in the past few years and it's very hard. They become part of your family. Jet had a wonderful life with your family filled with love and happiness. She went doing the thing that she loved.
Hi Guys. Tip: A safe and effective control method for slaters is to cut 25mm (or thereabouts) metal water pipe into lengths of around 30 - 40 cm. Place an approximate desert spoon amount of snail pellets towards middle of each pipe and position in the garden. The bait can only be accessed by the slaters who like to hide in the pipe during daylight hours and will eat the pellets. The pipe conceals the bait from other animals and pets including little people. I know you try to avoid poisons but this is very effective in controlling slater numbers. Happy gardening.
That's sad to hear about Jet. I know how it is to lose an animal that you are so attached to. I've lost a few over the years but fortunately, like you, I have fond memories of them.
This made me SO emotional. I'm in love with this journey, you are both so inspiring and contributed massively to why Josh and I are sailing full time now. Your videos got us through the 2 years we worked and lived on the boat in a trawler harbour to get ready for cruising now. Thank you for the time you take in creating these pieces of art. Big love to you 3 xxx Phoebe
We become very attached to our animals, just remember he had an Epic life with you guys. Raising your daughter and your lifestyle are things to be proud of and those things are never easy. You guys are doing a great job.
Hey guys, I have a Maine Coon cat called Rocky and he's just turned 13, though they're well known to live till 18-20yrs old, he's my best mate and him leaving me at some time into the future is honestly going to be a struggle, so I'm SO sorry for your loss !! Also, just be careful, those fox gloves in your garden, to the best of my knowledge, even though they are a beautiful plant, are extremely toxic to everyone and everything, humans, animals etc, every single part of the plant is very toxic, flowers, stems, leaves even the root and the juice/liquid inside the plant, so please be careful handling them and most of all keep tour little girl a long way away from them. Take care, Stay safe. Seeya Rob
Don't they leave a BIG hole, when they go? But: that's not struggling, Pascale, it's "just" grieving. You are getting so much right, out there, and living life the good way, and Constance is having the most grounded, loved and solid childhood. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, keep doing the right thing, and appreciating the good bits when you can. Hugs from all of us, all of those you have allowed to share your journey.
A good dog is truly a blessing. Like the changing of the seasons, the passage of time brings new challenges and new successes. I am certain that your family will have many more successes ahead!
The Thisle issue, a way to add extra dollars for minimal input. Thisle grows well as most weeders have noticed.. 😅. have you ever thought of harvesting it? I do on my farm for personal consumption. But it is also a valuable commodity. It is easy to dry out and then run through a blender and capsule it or just save the powder in a jar.. for cancer treatments the flower is the most valuable. Checkout how expensive it is to buy just the thistle without the flower. It is a good remedy for prostate issues and for diabetes and some kinds of cancer. Another thing that grows well is the willow tree.. a very easy crop to harvest, that replaces itself every year. I just cut off the stringy parts complete with the leaves and dry them out and put it through the blender, a wonderful powerhouse of goodness. There are many other herbs that grow well without the need to care for them, just harvest them every year and sell them online ...another is Rosemary. All the best, hang in there, maybe this comment will be of help. Really enjoy your podcasts. Regards Anthony
So sorry for your loss of Jet. Now she is free to run with then Roo's. Hang in there, you are an inspiration to all of us and doing a wonderful job with your many tasks at hand with a gentle and wise approach to life. Please know that you are Loved, and I always look forward to my time with you. Constance is beautiful and active as I can see and is growing so fast.
SOOOOooo Sorry about your Jet girl 😒😒 that is sad to hear GOD Bless YOU and I sure Hope things get better Stay Positive you are AWESOME Pasale I LOVE watching you create your delicious dishes 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Good Video ! Very Sad to hear of The Loss of Your Wonderful Puppy Dog 🐕. My Condolences ! i have Learned - it Makes You Love the Ones Still around a Lot deeper. i Lost My Dad a little over 2 Years ago & Have Lost 7 Family & Friends to Date. including our Family Dog. a Wonderful German shepard. Life is fleeting ! i've found. We Don't Get Enough time with the ones We Love ! Take Pictures & Make Time with the People & Things You Love !!! Life is too Short !!!
With your daughter breaking into toddler-hood, you just can't underestimate how much more support you need both emotionally and physically. Just the amount of mental energy it takes to maintain the constant vigilance need to keep a toddler safe, much less the toll on your concentration from the constant interruptions is huge. You're doing all the right things. Taking quality time with her in the morning. Visiting family and friends. Is there anyone who could take some time to come stay with you for a week or two to help keep an eye on her to give you more of a break at home?
Sorry and sad for your loss. What a voyage life is … been with you virtually on yours since the very start, afloat! And, still here. Thank you for sharing the vicissitudes so beautifully. We are all familiar with ups and downs, some of which are steeper than others. But your portrayal is magical, poetic and thoughtful. This episode is a classic … award-winning production skills … and also an authentic narrative and a deeply human feel. Go, team, it’s great being in touch. ❤
Condolences re Jett 🐕❤🩹 I had 2 x Blue Healer x GSPs, M & F siblings, could run ~70kph. They'd take of early morning, come home hours later exhausted. Neighbors miles away would say they seen them chasing roos through their properties. I guess being two they defended each other. Both passed on from cancer ~13yrs. I planted rose bushes over them.
Pascale and Troy sorry to hear about your loss but super stoked to see how beautiful your property is and your gorgeous daughter. My wife and I hope to buy our rural property in the next couple of years. Much love Starma Llama xoxo
Roos aren’t cruel for protecting themselves from being tormented by dogs. Losing a dog is sad, but to be honest it’s not great to allow them to chase roos, and should be trained not too. Seems a very sad lesson to have to learn the hard way.
I have been otherwise occupied over the last year or so, and have neglected to watch your videos. This one was a nice "catch-up" for me. You and Troy and your daughter are doing so well to bring out the best in the homestead, and your narration and editing skills are quire good. Thanks for a most pleasant glimpse into your life. I wish you well.
Ive been following you guys for years, actually since the beginning I think. No matter how bad or good things get, theres only one thing that is certain....it will always change. Sorry for your loss. dogs are the best people
Sometimes life piles on like a fast-moving snowball, gaining momentum exponentially. What started as a flake has grown unmanageable. Bit by bit the little thing pile on. I mourn the loss of Jet with you and fully understand you've had a lot to sort out. This, too, shall pass. I hope sharing the details of how you're feeling helps . From afar, you have my love and support. Warm regards. 🤗
Seasons bring challenge and change. The season of new motherhood is a major change and so rewarding. In moments you don’t feel that way and it’s ok. Life and loss of family members, 2 legged or 4 is hard. Cherish the memories. It’s ok to say it’s hard or I’m struggling. It won’t last forever. It ebbs and flows. I still greet my Dylan and PA as I drive past cutting the grass and I like to think that they wholly approve of my current two companions as they play nearby. Time and time alone will dull the edge of the pain but in the meantime know that you and your beautiful family are all in my thoughts and prayers from the other side of the world. I envy you the flavour of those freshly lifted spuds. ❤
Did you say 'slider bugs'? I think those little things must have more local names than anything. Pee-pugs for us as kids; or pill-bugs elsewhere; and near Oxford, I believe, they are lockchesters.
Bonjour à tout les trois , à triste nouvelle la perte de votre chien surtout qu'ils sont toujours attachants , je lui souhaites un bon repos à l'abri de son arbre .
Before I moved on to my curernt yacht full-time; I was living in Qld in a remote town surrounded in bush. My tom, Jinxy, was obsessed with being Top Cat of the neighbourhood and also fighting roos in the bush. I hated him going down to the bush at night but decided that it was what he wanted. If it had killed him, I had resigned myself to the fact that he made that choice. He got lucky, and after having brought home a few blacks snakes to kill and a goanna that ended up walking out of the house after a stale mate, Jinxy lived to become a sailing cat. Nonetheless, my point is that whilst it is heart breaking to lose our fur buddies, sometimes we just have to accept that they will sometimes die doing what they love. Now, both toms just look longingly towards the shore every evening.
It's a struggle when you loose cherished pets, so much a part of the family. That large, broken pine must have made a racket when it fell. Sure you may be trimming the smaller branches off. More normal summer and your garden is doing well.
And as a retired farmer, having animals is a cycle of life and death. My ex wife cried for an hour at least, when we lost our first milking cow to bloat. As you say, life has to go on. Thanks for the video! I haven't been following your blog for awhile! It's so sad when we lose a pet, almost like losing a family member! So sorry to see that 😢. Do you still have a sailboat? Still love selling your videos! Stay safe...from the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦.
So sorry for your loss. Pets really become so much a part of your life and when they go it leaves such a hole. So nice to catch up with your busy life. Best wishes in all you do

Gutted for Jet. Losing any dog is a soul killer. Love to you all.
Sorry to hear you lost that beautiful doggo. You are right about spring, cycle of life and all. Wishing you wind at your back over the next few weeks.
Run free, Jet! So sorry to hear the news. May the memories of many happy times with Jet ease the grief of the moment.

Sorry to hear about Jett
The opening shot is beautiful
Broccoli leaves are edible as well. High in vitamins A,C and K. They are great raw or cooked like collard greens.
I’m so sorry to hear about Jett. She was a lovely creature. They are like family.
We become very attached to our animals, just remember he had an Epic life with you guys. Raising your daughter and your lifestyle are things to be proud of and those things are never easy. You guys are doing a great job.
Big hugs from Newcastle NSW.
Thanks for the memories of Jet. So sorry for your lose. We have lost 3 dogs over the last year. But still have 6 left.

What parent doesn't have a season ticket to the clinic? And a loving tribute to Jet.
Regarding the tree. Call your local SES and see if they need a training tree.
You're amazing and very inspiring! :)
Losing a pet is very hard. But it could have been worse. Hang in there. Love from the USA
Keep your heart and mind opened for love to flow. Thank you for sharing this video.

I feel so sorry for you guys. This is my greatest fear about moving to a farm with my spaniels. Because they dont listen, chase everything and the fear of losing them is quite overwhelming.
I truly miss your sailing adventure..

I think will again .,

Could I suggest Kangaroo Paw as the plant for Jett. Seems the most appropriate.
Always remember your pet had the best life with you.

Shame about Jett. Nice tribute at the end.

Always hard when you lose a good dog. Even when they are naughty.
