Yea here in NZ, Mince'n'Cheese and Steak'n'Cheese are our 2 most favourite pie flavours. But I've been to Aussie (Brizzy) a few times now and noticed they almost never put cheese inside their pies. I'm still perplexed as to why.
@@JayBowen you can buy cheese and cheese and bacon pies at almost every bakery in Australia. we don't say mince because it's a given that it has mince unless it's stated it's a steak pie.
That looks great, I’m learning a lot about what Australia loves to eat from your channel. You have me looking for chicken salt in TX. You’ll love this my great grandmother was friends w the Colonel Sanders or Harland as she called him founder of KFC. She lived in Corbin Kentucky.
Great, isn't it!! Even home cooked frozen products are cool, too! Money saving AND can be tweaked! Eg. Oven fry chips can be seasoned once just defrosted and starting warming in oven, season well coating evenly then continue cook. Easy! As I don't drive, takeaway ISN'T very easy. The freezer is! Lol
Oooh yeah! Hey GREGO - I live in Las Vegas. If you ever want a free stay contact me. My apartment is sh**, but I’m 10 minutes from the strip. Love you mate!!
Hello from California 🇺🇲 That looks so GOOD I don't eat ground beef so will substitute Gardein plant based meat I had never heard of Aussie pies until a few weeks ago I was watching Crikey it's the Irwin's Robert said " Im going to get a pie" I thought he meant a dessert.........lol
My brother posted me my pie maker from Melbourne 3 weeks ago and it arrived today. Not sure if the plane actually landed in Bangkok or they just threw it out of the plane as they were passing by. It’s looking like it had a rough few weeks in transit. Anyway it’s working and now it’s time to try out your recipe mate. Woohoo.
here in the states the ingredients in that pie are the same ingredients in sloppy joes....onion,ground beef, garlic,Worcestershire sauce, tomato catsup.
I want a bigger one... One pie the size of the 4 little ones... be a Pretty good size for one person. They only hold about 1- 1.5 Tablespoons of filling in each small pie. .5 of a pastry sheet for 1. 10-12 Tablespoons of filling... 1.5-2 sheets of pastry per pie I think! Lol You get a LOT of pastry, little filling with the little ones. Still fun though!! Lol They're cheap in Kmart, etc. I don't have the "proper" cutters, either. ☮💛🕯
I cut them up into odd shape strips - doesn't matter the size just to make them smaller (thickness of your Roger Ramjet icon, length of half your comment. (Sorry don't have my banana for size around) Cinnamon sugar the pieces and put small lumps of the wormy strips on a bake paper lined tray and bake 180c till ready - they will stick together. Or parmesan cheese if you hate cinnamon or taco seasoning or just salt and pepper and try for bigger odd size individual pieces and call it rustic. If you mush us puff pastry it doesn't puff as much cutting up and piling up gives you more puff. If you really like things neat, mush up the 'rests' and roll out and recut add a dollop of jam. It just wont puff up as much. TBH I don't have a pie maker. I just cut the puff sheet square in four and make triangle pies/apple turnovers when I do stuff like this.
You didnt show us what you did with the left over puffed pastry sheet. I've never seen you waste a skerrick of anything Grego. Loving this Aussie pie video in Peaceful Cambooya
yum have you tried doing apple or sweet pies ? do that next. Do a review of Loaf 'N' Around pies Biggera Waters, I reckon they are good be interested to see what you think, I used to buy cold ones and freeze them.
Thank you for making my days with your videos GregO! Was wondering when you would finally show us how to make an Aussie meat pie. You should make a fish & chips recipe next!
Hi Greggo, im a community worker in Sydney made these pies for my client but added garlic pepper, oh he loved them. Thankyou would like ti send you something but dont have yr address. Janelle

I was thinking there'd be room in there for a slice of cheese :-)

Top shelf divinity work there GregO... Throw in one teaspoon of Vegemite to ya mince mix to totally blow ya mind bruz...!! Cheers Gibbo
Grego! I just made these pies, but didnt add the nutmeg. Legendary! 🤤🤤 Tastes bloody brilliant, thanks!
Those pie makers are so great. Never would’ve thought to put nutmeg in a meat pie filling. Will try it next time.
Great recipe, made them and tastes fantastic
To make this pie recipe even awesomer, make the meat filling the day before and add a couple of bay leaves during simmering.
I use bay leaves as well as a tablespoon of sweet paprika in mine. A quarter cup of red wine and half a teaspoon of dark soy sauce also work a treat!
I use olive oil, passata, cinnamon, and red wine when cooking my mince. Delicious!
Well done. A big thumbs up.
They look absolutely brilliant 👌🤤

Thank you for sharing.

Nice work greggo, more pie maker recipes please
that looked great I have the smallest kitchen, ie no storage, but makes me want to buy a pie maker
You can bake American biscuits (scones) in them too!
They look delicious.
Thank you 😋
I love that pie maker!
Yay an actual cooking video!! That’s a handy machine!
The only problem with making great 'takeaway' food at home is you end up never buying that takeaway again as your own version ends up better 😋

This is like the sophisticated version compared to the original true blue recipe you posted, Greggo.
Awesome Greggo.. Gonna give this one a go!..:)
Greggo mate, the only Worcestershire sauce you should be using is Lea & Perrins, the real deal !
Looks good mate
Thanks 👍
Heavy play school vibes with this vid and the edits aha
Will Mrs Mac be proud ?
We Say "Just Like Down Town!" Instead of "like the real thing"
I want to make Grego bc I buy pie maker while in lockdown n yet to use
Great pie,, do you reckon it would work with a basic pie plate.
Nice dogs eye grego! You bloody legend
Any suggestions about what to do with the pastry off-cuts.
Join all the bits left.. Put them in the piemaker, check them every couple minutes... Add a scoop of icecream, and theres dessert! Yum

Damn! Those looked pretty decent.
Hey Greg KFC has new sliders out you try them
I'm so baked I keep thinking the thumbnail is a jam donut...
hey greg how did you know the pan was hot before you put oil and butter in,normally you do the old touch test.
Make a braised steak and onion mix and add that in a pie best ever
I want a piemaker, the kind you don’t need a pre-nup. 😂
Does the pie maker do a nice, crispy base? I have real issues with soggy pie bases. Nothing worse than a lap full of scolding pie filling!
I would put brown sauce instead of ketchup
Dave Tempe 2 false statements...
@@Bigobe244 its true we never heard of brown sauce
@Dave Tempe you might know it as. H.P sauce . Some call it brown sauce if that's what the guy is referring to..
Great lookin maggot bag Grego..
hey greg .chuck a bit of cheese under the lid its a rippa cheers bud
Oh hell yeah... I need a pie maker
