This car proves that HP is not everything. the HP/weight ratio is what makes this car pretty amazing even in comparision against much higher HP cars.
You are right. I'm driving Suzuki Vitara with the same 1.4t engine, and it's only 1250kg. It moves like a squirrel :-)

@@nozopoke1782 yes, it has AllGrip, which adds 50 to 70 kg compared to 2WD version.
It's also how well the torque is used, the shorter ratio gears, the classic Suzuki throttle response

Tommy27_usr ive had a new 595 couple of years ago and ive been looking at this Swift Sport. Seems a better all rounder than the Abarth. I really liked that car but I think this Suzuki is better for long journeys and practicality.
I have an alfa mito Quadrifoglio and I think maybe i should change it by this one cause is Newer and there is s lot of aftermarket parta. What do u think?

I had the 2010 model with the na 1.6 engine and absolutely loved it,but it destroyed my pockets on fuel.

I wish Suzuki didn't pull out the states, but they stopped making the Swift in the states way before they left out.
Financially it was the right decision for Suzuki to exit the American (including Canadian) market. They are doing pretty well in Latin America not to mention Asia (can't say anything about Europe I guess they're doing alright there too). Americans only buy big SUVs and huge Pickup Trucks and that is not their focus at all.
Two of colleagues and my uncle have swifts. Those are really funny cars to drive, but they are picky in maintenance and often have failing components.

Then they are very unlocky. Suzuki is known for almost nothing giving trouble.. Especially swifts but tell us more about it 😉
Maybe let them try bmw or audi etc etc etc if they want maintenance
I have had many suzuki, i love them but the reliability name is just a myth. They are not that reliable. Infact my neighbours fiat is laughing at me 😂. But love the cars they are querky and unique looking.

Looks like a fun car, love the exterior styling! Mazda need to make a car that can compete with this and the st. I wouldn’t get a Suzuki cause of the poor build quality. Meanwhile the fiesta is too firm, has reliability issues and seems to attract negative attention.
Your right, this car is made of tin foil and i wouldnt dare put my kids in it on a motorway trip. Same for the baleno, which is a shame because i love suzuki but these 2 models have dissapointed me. I having to save for the S cross instead. And whats with people comparing sport cars with ST and FR ect. They are completley different. They dont say anything about the gutless, boring, way of date interior, rusting ford focus sport 1.6 115hp and them.
The build quality is solid. It’s Japanese made. Cant go wrong. Yes there’s a lot of plastic inside. But who cares, it’s about the driving experience not the ‘touching dashboard’ experience.

@@simonhaley103, 140, but real hp are about 155, and the car only weights 975kg, lovely gearbox and awesome chassis, and the 0-100 is about 7,3 seconds so it's a little pocket rocket. No all is only about horsepower

Well the reliability isn’t that good. It’s not a Toyota, Lexus or Honda. The build quality is quite poor. Personally I would avoid and go for a slightly less quick but better made Mazda 2.

Ignacio Mardini no its a 1,4 from Fiat, like 1,6ddis its 1,6 multijet from Fiat too. Same engine on the vitara S. Boosterjet is just a name
@@tony973 You're wrong my man, the Multijet Diesel known as DDIS in the Suzuki brand was only used in the third generation Swift and the S-Cross with the 1.3L variant in some markets, while the 1.6L DDIS was only applied in the SX4 and Vitara as well as the 1.9L.
Boosterjet was launched in 2015 in the K series Suzuki engine family, starting with the 1.0T, which was applied in Swift and then came the 1.4T (K14c) assembled in Japan and applied in Vitara S, S-Cross and Swift Sport. Multiair gasoline engines were launched in 2009 with Alfa Romeo Mito (135 and 170 hp) and assembled in Italy. These gasoline engines were not shared with Suzuki as they did with diesel engines.
@@ignaciomardini5734 the old vitara diesel used 1.9 dci from Renault, not fiat, only 1.3l 1.6l and 2.0 multijet was used (vitara, sx4, swift etc...) but you're right this engine is manufactured by suzuki but uses almost the same technologies as Fiat multiair. Anyway, good engine, good performances, but I prefer the old Swift Sport with 1.6l.

Yeah tbh although I like the look of the ST I have concerns over the general relaibity of Fords and in particular the relaibity of the 3 cylinder engines - would be a very risky second hand purchase out of warranty. Suzuki's are bomb proof and this new SSS looks like alot of fun - need to test drive one soon!
Suzuki’s might be better than Ford for reliability but they are certainly not bulletproof. It’s not a Toyota, Lexus, Honda or Mazda. Personally I’d go for a Mazda 2, might not be as quick but is better made and the gt sport nav is only a second or two slower.
