    This is what cracks me up is people will say these are bad lifters. Not knowing what the real cause is.

    • @RacingRamFam

      You can leave it just super annoying and exhaust is leaking from the engine bay which is not good

      The potential issue is that a significant leak can cause health problems by leaking into the cab of the truck

    Is there such thing as the aluminum head itself warping to cause these exhaust leaks? I have a 2018 hemi that I’ve done the passenger side manifold on twice with no luck. First time the back most stud was clearly broken, I pulled manifold and had it resurfaced at a machine shop. That mostly fixed the tick on cold starts but the tick came back pretty quickly once the engine was up to temp. I thought it might have been the shitty gasket carquest sold me so I bought the whole kit from dodge including a brand new manifold. Did the whole thing over again, no broken studs this time around, resurfaced manifold had warped more though, so i put all the new dodge parts in including some new brackets the kit came with that i assume are intended to help the manifold resist warping. Thought i had it fixed cus it was dead silent on the first couple starts and idling but once again when i took it for a longer drive, the damn tick was back again. I haven’t messed with the driver side because the studs are intact and from what I can tell its pretty definitively coming from the passenger side. Its driving me nuts because the truck only has 80,000 miles on it. Are the recommended torque specs too low or something? Seems like I’m the only person who can’t get the leak to go away and im too pissed off now to give up and live with the tick

    • @RacingRamFam
      @RacingRamFam  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      At 80,000 miles and constant rick noise from the passenger side it’s prob cylinder 3 lifter starting to eat the camshaft alive

      @@RacingRamFam so i got the good tick, cool. How many miles can I expect to get before I get the misfire and the engine becomes worthless? I’ve put 10k on since the tick showed up and I havent had any performance problems yet

    hello friend, why do you think in my Hemi 5.7 2010, when mds is turned on and in eco mode, a crackling sound comes from the engine, as soon as you give gas everything is fine and quiet at idle, it’s also quiet, I don’t know where to climb, I changed the mds solenoids, the vvt solenoid did not change . any thoughts on what to do?

    Any idea what the cause of the broken bolts is?

    • @RacingRamFam
      @RacingRamFam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes cast iron exhaust manifold and aluminum head. Two different metals expanding and contracting at different rates sheers the bolts off. Pretty much any Oem aluminum headed engine does this dodge, Ford Chevy all have this issues. The new hemis they put a tie bar in to try and stop this issue. Now they just crack manifolds lol

    • @mattlowe5881
      @mattlowe5881 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Always theorized having the cats right off the manifold doesn’t help. High heat of the cats transfers into the manifold making the expansion and contraction even more pronounced. Just my 2 cents tho
