- Chesapeake 1000 teamed up with the salvage claw work to lift a massive piece of the Key Bridge in Baltimore. The Dali remains in position where she has been since the collapse.
This is a modified 4k video sped up to show the work done today with an overlay of audio from our livestream.

Cpt. Andy, thanks for putting up this time lapse of the live stream, as I couldn't come aboard for the live stream. A long and arduous process.
Very welcome
That’s so impressive. Not only the strength of the Chessie 1000 but also the skill of the people doing the maneuvering!
The operator of the yellow excavator with the shear on the barge is very good at what he's doing. He's on the right, much smaller than the cranes, He's cutting up the huge junks of mangled steel making them easier to haul off. Great footage!
Thank you for the effort to give the juice! The fast speed is fun to watch❤🎉
Thanks Mike!!
Wow amazing that is a great big bite!.. keep’em coming Capt. Andy
Thanks, will do!
Watching from Aotearoa New Zealand. Thanks for being our eyes on this piece of history.
Thanks for watching!
Wow, that’s a big chunk.
Amazing how much more detail is seen at faster speeds, thanks!
You bet!
I am a Civil Engineer and I'm absolutely mesmerized by these videos. The salvage operation is quite fascinating to watch. Thank you for your time and effort in compiling videos. Just fantastic!!
Thank you very much!
That was a chunk. I missed the live today. I watch the live and the recap, but this today is especially appreciated. Thanks Andy.

Very welcome
Thank you very much for covering this bridge dismantling . . Simply fascinating...Bravo on your show⚡️🔥⚡️
Many thanks!
Nice getting in here 19 minutes after the member posting. Saw your last 1-1/2hrs of the LiveStream, but this is so much clearer. Still really liking the sped up rendering. I think this one is your best so far Captain Andy! Thank you sir!
Awesome, thank you!
Chessie got another big bite later. Thanks for all the video.
You bet
That definitely looked like a full truck load for the dumps !!! :o) Thanks for providing the great images !!! You have gained the full respect from everyone having anything to do with reporting this work. Well deserved for sure !!!
Thanks 👍
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Big job. Props to everyone dealing with this mess, and you for documenting it.
Nice haul for the claw. Worth the extra time to make sure it was secure.
Little Golden Books: "Scruffy the Tug Boat" heaven.
That was a nice lift!

Big thumbs up 👍👍 ,
Take care Andy!
Much appreciated!
This is always worth looking out for especially as due to time differences i cant watch the whole Livestream.
Its incredible how much more detail is in the 4k videos. And the sped up view kind of helped me work out what exactly was happening during the Livestream. Thanks Captain
Andy
Wow the clarity is particularly great this time! Thank you Captain!
Glad you think so!
Great Job Andy. Heard a lot of comments today about the Weeks 533 not doing much but lifting a man basket all day. Correct Me if I'm wrong but the Weeks 533 crane is working directly with Resolve Marine on the Dali, and has nothing to do with Donjon on the rest of the bridge structure.
Hi, Kiewit employee here, as far as I'm aware yes Weeks is subcontracted with Resolve Marine.
To be clear, I'm quite inland and not involved in Weeks operations.
YES. The 533 is a Resolve asset at the casualty
Keep up the good work Capt Andy.......Jay
Thanks!
Thank you!!
💯💯👀🌺🌴☔️☔️❤️🤙😎
Thanks for staying longer than planned. We greatly appreciate you & your videos.
You are so welcome!
Thank you! ❤ these modified when I can't catch a live.
Enjoy!
Tug Tug tug tug tug.....I love tugs. Great work onthe cranes and barges.

Thank You for the Overtime
Wow! What a chunk of metal !!!!!!
Another brilliant video.
Thanks again!
Great to see the 4k version. Thanks Andy
You bet
Nice job Capt.Andy. Boy I'd hate to have that bill from DonJon, that is a large gathering of very professional skill.
Awesome job. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
BIRDS? MAKE EM FLY, CHESSIE!
I am very much enjoying your coverage of this event! The amount of debris they have to deal with is amazing. Thanks for being there!
Glad you like them!
Thanks.
You're welcome!
Great video, best one yet IMO 👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you
That was a great piece of video. Thanks, have a great day!
Wonderful video!
Thank you very much!
Great stuff👍

Great coverage thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@MinorcanMullet Thanks! Great channel! #Jeffostroff recommended your channel, and I enjoy watching your videos!!
Amazing work from the crane operators. Thanks for providing these videos they are great viewing for me in the UK.
Our pleasure!
Watching all these videos from Australia thanks to you guys job well done. Keep up the good work 😊
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Awesome coverage!
Thanks a ton!
Amazing day. Great job Capt Andy!
Yes it was!

Already happened , CAPTAIN!
Wow!
I could stare at the TV all day and see nothing moving except the birds fly by. Watching this spead up video is very interesting to watch.
Thanks Andy, great coverage..
Very welcome
There is a lot of traffic on that river!!
give you am idea of the weight involved. those stringer members on the bottom just folded up like a pretzel when the full weight of the piece was set on them.
All of the people involved with this almost impossible task have managed to turn a disaster into a miracle. Thank you, Captain, for your videos and your highly informative narrative.
Its all making more sense to see the production going on in the background details.
This scene would make one heck of a Picture Puzzle!!
It can be done on a website called "Jigidi" with a screenshot, the pole in the foreground would be a tad dissapointing though. One would need Captain Andy's permission though, one wouldn't wanna get busted for copyright infringement.
👍😉
Chessie picking up a big pile of steel spaghetti… who’s got the sauce?
Momma mia!!!
Remarkable Clarity from this 4K , thanks to Capt. Andy &all involved in filming and to the workers and Operators out there on the site . Amazing work
Many thanks!
That was amazing. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you from Texas.
Absolutely awesome time-lapse coverage, well done!!
I love it.
Remember, that crane load gets heavier when they lift it out of the water. Simply, steel weighs less in water.
I was watchin this before I left for work a the after I left for work. The first time they brought the chunk up it reminded me of the head from the Alien from the movie 🍿 Alien… it was exciting to see The Claw bring up such a Huge Piece.. I remember watchin that machine workin on the Golden Ray and the incredible work it did then…. All those months at that site
Fabulous Videos.. Thanks Minorcan ..!! I'm gonna ask questions on the next live stream . Brilliant work.
Thanks
Wow that was awesome 👌
Wow!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and at the point the chunk was even with the Weeks cab as comparison to the size
👍🤠
I know It wasn't, but I saw what looked like 2 Tug Boats at the Barge near Chespeke 1000 and they looked like they were pushing against each other, and so I called it, Tug of war. Lol. Thanks Captain Andy, Terry
Thanks for recording this piece of History Andy ... Are they taking stuff off the Deck of the Dali as well ??
I believe so. We have seen a damaged container moved off while we were livestreaming
What's with the same barge that keeps going back and forth?
Holy cow! Do you think the repeated up-and-down movements may have been to lighten the load by getting mud off?
Or ripping what they have away from other debris maybe..
A better and more compacting grip than the first, which was only by a few "strands".
Would remove more mud though.
👏👍😎
Thanks Mod!
Looks like containers are being removed by a crane on the right side of the view.
I hope you weren't too delayed for us on your drive back Captain Andy.
👍😕
Worth it!
Boat loads of activity at the Bow of the Dali too..
Andy all of us at FMJ Salvage thank you for the video and TYGER for doing what he does?
Appreciate the South Florida squad!!!!
Andy, Isn’t it true that as the Claw is lifting, the pumps have to shift ballast to compensate for the load. The barge receiving also h as to transfer ballast to compensate for the debris. Dropping from the claw, the wake could swamp some of those small boats. Nerves of Steel in these operators!
May God bless you all in the name of Jesus Christ Amen ❣️
Another Great Video! What was that barge that kept going back and forth, had the white area on it's bow?
Not sure
I wonder how much that thing weighed. I suppose the crane operator would know.
"Go Chessie Go Chessie Go Go Go!!"
...? are they using sonar to prelocate debris ?, or are they dropping blind and hoping to grab something ? ...
SONAR is being used
Have you seen the footage from weld warehouse of works behind that barge wow
A delicate operation if all safety measures are being adhered to.
Certainly looked like a big piece this time.
I guess divers aren't being used here due to safety and communication issues.
What's that low, black boat that keeps going back and forth, for example at 10:23? Why are there so many small boats tootling around? I would think they'd want as few boats as possible in the vicinity of the crane and the barge.
A lot of material to claw off the bottom
I know I sound stupid but do the tugs tie onto the barges?
Yes
I wasn't sure if that was tangled or mangled.
Certified mess!
@5:33-5:34 there appears to be an explosion in front of the claw location, hidden behind the barge. Slow your playback speed to .25 and see if you agree...
I'll have to check it out
Start at 5:32 and zoom close, observe the cutting torch immediately above the surface of the barge, also the rusty looking piece at the tip and above the barge will drop out of sight behind the barge. Your "explosion" is actually a splash from the falling piece of structure out of sight behind the barge, this all occurs and the cutting torch ceases at the moments imediately after Andy completes the word "cable".
Sharp eyes you have there.
Suppliment: The "piece" cut off was actually on the barge and hanging over the edge.
Great segment! . . . BTW where is the Chessie's operator located? Is there a control house?
Yes. Tall tower towards the stern of the barge
I'm beginning to wonder if the ship is stuck in the mud outside the channel.
I believe the answer is yes. They ballasted it down into the mud to keep it from moving and possibly damaging the underwater gas line near the bow.
Any idea how much fuel is being consumed a day by all the crains & barge positioning tugs ?
The barge with the office on kept coming across the shot. Any idea why? i counted about 6 times. caroline
Can you imagine the amount of wages being paid daily to these men and woman working on this job. Especially the heavy equipment operators and ironworkers, towboat operators.
