But, being the proper manager he is, he's also shown to be unstable, choleric, destructive, dismissive, at least ignorant to how social interactions can be beneficial even for profitable business. (From my experience, there's often more to that kind of behaviour than merely trying to spontaneously cover up their forgetfulness.)

This is why I never expect anything from other people on my birthdays. You won't be disappointed if you don't have high expectations. You can always count on yourself for a little celebration, treat, present, etc since you'd be in charge. Anything else that happens from anything/anyone will just be a nice surprise.

I responded to a couple of OPs about the day (just started 10th grade at 13 years old) my mom announced that they would no longer celebrate their adopted kid’s birthdays. For four years I've shared the same house with the same set of people. One of them has a birthday two days after mine. Only one of our birthdays is celebrated with gifts including a group bought Switch, and no one even mentions the other despite repeated reminders of when it is. Byron is too relatable.
I've always operated under the assumption that my birthday was just another day for everyone else - after all, that's how every other birthday seems to me 🤷♂️

This is special. The way this was written, shot and directed is all very deliberate and fantastic, but it needs to be carried by the performance. And Byron delivered way above and beyond. He perfectly navigated the emotional roller coaster this skit is supposed to be. The quiet desperation behind his joy is literally perfect! And the amount of ground you guys manage to cover in a 4 minute sketch. This is incredibly impressive work guys!
Aww c'mon guys you gotta do a Christmas special for Byron, where everyone gets him Christmas presents or just simply recognise that he is a valued member. You guys do such an amazing job creating characters that people connect with.

I can't decide for whom i feel sorry the most in bored series throughout the years. Adam, Hamish or Byron because these guys get easily stepped on alot lol. The acting is totally insane, writing is like real life but made in humorous way while still clinging to reality. If there ever was a limit to these guys talents in VLDL then they cross these limits every day for living. So impressive and i can't help but want more!

The worst bit was having to go through the stage where he thought they'd remembered, but I know this is VLDL and there's no way that Byron's not getting double crushed... he's so happy and I know it's just going to get worse. Byron's the best.
When I was younger, birthdays were a big deal to me. When I lost my mother the day before my birthday, its been 10 years and it doesn't get any easier. I don't celebrate my birthday anymore. It is just a painful reminder. I don't make birthday wishes anymore. I wish simply to have had the time to let her know how amazing a mother she was, how much I took her from granted, and wish I only had another opportunity to tell her how much she meant to me. Anyone that reads this, please don't make the same mistake I made. Call your mother now. I mean really, right now, and surprise her with a call simply to let her know how much you love and care for her. You'll take 5 minutes out of your day, and it will make her entire week knowing it.
My wife lost her grandmother on her birthday a couple of years ago. She lost her dad last year a week after her birthday. I know how hard that is watching her work through it. My thoughts go out to you and hope that next birthday is a bit better.
Not sure if it helps you, but it did help me. Try to realize that the fact you never got to say those things are YOUR burden. You are not sorry that your mother didn't hear those words from you, you are sorry about the fact that you were unable to say them in time. So it is just self-pity. Once you realize that, try to let go of the feeling. Unless you were emotionally dead, your mother knew that you loved her, words would have been worth bonus points, but would not change the feelings anyways. Try to imagine what your mother would say if she knew about what you are stating here. I would imagine she would want you to cheer up. At least don't be depressed about it and move on, enjoy this shitty life as long as it lasts. Now that we are done with the motivational part - the video was great!

This is special. The way this was written, shot and directed is all very deliberate and fantastic, but it needs to be carried by the performance. And Byron delivered way above and beyond. He perfectly navigated the emotional roller coaster this skit is supposed to be. The quiet desperation behind his joy is literally perfect! And the amount of ground you guys manage to cover in a 4 minute sketch. This is incredibly impressive work guys!
Aww c'mon guys you gotta do a Christmas special for Byron, where everyone gets him Christmas presents or just simply recognise that he is a valued member. You guys do such an amazing job creating characters that people connect with.

I can't decide for whom i feel sorry the most in bored series throughout the years. Adam, Hamish or Byron because these guys get easily stepped on alot lol. The acting is totally insane, writing is like real life but made in humorous way while still clinging to reality. If there ever was a limit to these guys talents in VLDL then they cross these limits every day for living. So impressive and i can't help but want more!

The worst bit was having to go through the stage where he thought they'd remembered, but I know this is VLDL and there's no way that Byron's not getting double crushed... he's so happy and I know it's just going to get worse.

When I was younger, birthdays were a big deal to me. When I lost my mother the day before my birthday, its been 10 years and it doesn't get any easier. I don't celebrate my birthday anymore. It is just a painful reminder. I don't make birthday wishes anymore. I wish simply to have had the time to let her know how amazing a mother she was, how much I took her from granted, and wish I only had another opportunity to tell her how much she meant to me.
Anyone that reads this, please don't make the same mistake I made. Call your mother now. I mean really, right now, and surprise her with a call simply to let her know how much you love and care for her. You'll take 5 minutes out of your day, and it will make her entire week knowing it.
My wife lost her grandmother on her birthday a couple of years ago. She lost her dad last year a week after her birthday. I know how hard that is watching her work through it. My thoughts go out to you and hope that next birthday is a bit better.

Not sure if it helps you, but it did help me. Try to realize that the fact you never got to say those things are YOUR burden. You are not sorry that your mother didn't hear those words from you, you are sorry about the fact that you were unable to say them in time. So it is just self-pity. Once you realize that, try to let go of the feeling. Unless you were emotionally dead, your mother knew that you loved her, words would have been worth bonus points, but would not change the feelings anyways.
Try to imagine what your mother would say if she knew about what you are stating here. I would imagine she would want you to cheer up. At least don't be depressed about it and move on, enjoy this shitty life as long as it lasts.
