1) what was happening on January 6, AND WHY vs.
2) what happened in Tennessee AND WHY. Very different indeed.
The "...why..." appears to be that the Democrat Party opposes what happened on January 6, and the Democrat Party supports what happened in Tennessee. Before you respond, just consider one thing; I agree that those who broke windows and doors at the U.S. Capitol committed crimes, behaved in a manner not at all protected by the First Amendment, and should have been punished appropriately under the law.
However, many of the so-called !!!INSURRECTIONISTS!!! of January 6 were not in any way violent or destructive - as has been shown by video evidence that was hidden / suppressed for well over a year - and some were known even at the time to have not actually entered the building, and yet were treated little differently from those who were undeniably violent.
Also, is this now the new norm? If a legislative representative or three fail to have a vote go their way, is it now acceptable to lead a crowd of demonstrators into the legislature's place of work? When the inevitable day comes that the roles are reversed, will you support Republicans that behave in this way?

I grew up in Massachusetts and my family are outdoor enthusiasts. We fish and hunt not as sport but as a way to feed our family. We eat what we hunt aside of varmint elimination. Skunk possum coyote and fox which threaten the farm animals. We possess shotguns and a couple of rifles and black powder guns. No machine weapons. This is how homes were equipped back in the 1700’s and this should be the norm. Hollywood went and created the image of a hero pulling a machine gun out and fighting the bad guys and citizens went and looked and purchased these guns as a novelty and to no avail. The country has to look and see whether these arsenal fit a reasonable purpose. Ask what is the reason for owning a weapon that can shoot 30 rounds of high velocity ammunition. This may help to create a better understanding of why things need to change. I do support the 2nd amendment but it has been so manipulated that it is getting out of control. Have you examined the instances where a good person with a gun has saved lives? Happens quite often. Think of it this way...schools are the strictest gun free zones in existence, yet that is where many kids are being killed. People at the capitol riots were charged and are still in court over it. There was a youtuber who never even entered the building got charged with trespassing. You are spreading misinformation or intentionally lieing. Proper sentences don't start with and btw.

I met Justin Jones and Bud Hulsey (the one who introduced a resolution to expel Jones) while I was interning at the capitol, the day before the protests. I don't know how I feel about this. Of course I have lots to disagree with between me and Jones but this expulsion process really feels as if this should be reserved for the worst of the worst, not something that ultimately didn't harm anyone at the capitol, although being arguably irresponsible. This is a really bad slippery slope and this feels too partisan. I know these people, too. I wish I could talk to some of them directly right now like I could've when I was at the capitol but I can't. I can only speculate how they are taking this situation right now. Tennessee politics has just been surreal lately and I jumped in at such a crazy time.
I agree that this is very dangerous, i don't know if people just miss this or no one is commenting about it but what they did by expelling theses representatives is take away the voice of their constituents. The people they represent should be outraged by this, and i assume that they are.

Comparing this to Jan 6, when people were destroying property, injuring and killing Capitol police, and trying to obstruct the continuance of the transfer of power and the certification of the election is entirely inaccurate. The elected representatives were participating in a protest, not trying to overthrow the TN legislature. If the protest was conducted in a way that violated any laws, they are most likely misdemeanors and at worst should result in censure, but not being removed from office. The ones attempting to do this probably call the Jan 6 insurrectionists "peaceful demonstrators" and "patriots." Elected officials don't lose the right to protest, when they assume office, any more than they lose any other Constitutionally protected rights any individual is entitled to.
