That DOES happen when your parent gets Alzheimer's disease when they deteriorate to the stage where they don't recognize their own family members, or even friends. My mother had it, and it was heartbreaking. She would either become fearful of us, or belligerent towards us. My mother was a sweet, loving person who was big on hugs and kisses, she loved EVERYONE. But Alzheimer's took away her memory and the person she used to be. Personality change is a big part of the latter stages of Alzheimer's. It's heartbreaking for the family to watch the person you loved turn into someone completely different. It's an insidious disease and I wouldn't wish it on ANYONE. This video touched my heart seeing her reaction to American soldiers on leave, surprising their families. My heart goes out to the North Korean people, especially after I saw 2 documentaries a few months ago, on life in North Korea. I had NO idea it was so dystopian! I cried watching those documentaries. Thank you for this channel.

From what I understood, she wasn't an orphan since young age, but she lost her parents during her military duty, and that's why she takes them home. Because she regrets the fact that she followed the rules and then lost them before she could meet them one last time. So she takes that burden off helping others don't do the same. She's amazing anyway, I'm just saying that it wasn't a case of not understanding the bond between parents and children, because she does

I cry when i see the reunion videos and I cried hearing about North Korean families who don't see each other for years and that her husband and his mother didn't even recognize each other. 😪 Blessings on you for trying to give soldiers some time with their families. They will never forget that.

I think the U.S. and the international community should be doing more to pressure North Korea's leaders into easing up or abdicating. Hearing of what goes on there makes me so sad and ANGRY for the people of that country; it's so dangerous and complicated to maneuver, but my best wishes go to North Korea and those who escaped, as well as South Korea for taking in their fellow Koreans and remaining the bulwark against NK.
Young American man over here, admiring the spirit of Korea and the people's will to fight against the oppression. The spirit of Arirang is strong, and I hope we can foster it into something stronger. 💛💙

Absolutely. How much more time does the international diplomacy need to realize APPEASEMENT IS NOT WORKING. AGAIN.
For all the awful things Trump did or said, or the needed ones he neglected to do, he was probably closer than any other world leader to treating Kim Jon Un the way he deserved be and handling N. Korean regime the way it should be.

The reason we can't, is because they are allied with china. Also they might try to destroy us or south Korea which makes it hard because China is one of the smarter places in the world, and have a lot of military upper hands

    • @ElleMin88

Trump said that he was doing great things in North Korea ..... I’m not sure how that could be seen as handling North Korea well. He continues to praise Kim Jung Un and suck up to dictators. He acted as if he was going to handle the situation then praised him and turned it into a bigger mess. I say this as a Korean American.

It's not so much North Korea, but China's & Russia's support of the regime that perpetuates the misery in that country.
