You should look into Korean beauty products. They are way cheaper and generally made for all shades of skin on the paler side. Plus, Koreans are skincare-obsessed so you don't have to worry about harmful ingredients. :)

It's funny because I know all the base products that this woman used and where to find them online, and how to make custom makeup at home in bulk way cheeper. Everything from foundation, pressed powder, loose powder, blush, lipstick, lip gloss, highlighters, eye shadows, eye liner... Etc. Natural minerals, natural dyes, and natural moisturizers like the ones she mentions; Shea butter, soy, etc research people!! You can do this at home!!

I'm not impressed with the hygiene standards here. The lady mixing the cosmetics should at least be wearing gloves and a face mask; as do the mixologists in the Bite Beauty lab videos, and those in the Lush's 'How it's made' videos. This is NOT hygienic at all. Makeup is already a fantastic place for bacterial growth from us dipping our fingers in it or touching our mouth/eyes directly with the applicators; it really should be completely sterile when it's being made. And the makeup in this video definitely isn't sterile.

Well maybe she had already washed her hands? i didn't think it was unhygienic.
That's an easy mistake to make. I'm not saying she's DIRTY, I'm just saying these aren't sterile working conditions. You can't wash your hands until they're 100% free of germs, and you're still going to be breathing on the makeup and shedding skin cells and so on. Manufacturing makeup doesn't call for quite the same brutal standard of hygiene as surgery does, but it's pretty damn close.

Everyone has trouble finding the right shade... It's not just black women. Pale white skin is also hard to find foundation for.
still does not negate the fact that make up, particularly foundation shades are more accessible to those of a lighter hue.

thats the same with darker skin except high brand names usually dont dont carry as dark shades as they would for lighter shades. we both have the same problem, but darker have it harder as there is less diversity in make up for us.

Wet n Wild do exactly that coral red shade of nail polish - I'm wearing it on my toenails right now. The lipgloss could be bought from any cheap brand and the lip liner looks like the shade I wear from MAC, Estee Lauder, wherever - every brand carries that shade! But the foundation and blush would actually be worth the money as so many people have difficulty finding an exact shade match - I'm going to research the brand a bit and see what the quality of the product is, because I'm sick of mixing two foundation shades every day!

It seemed so unsanitary to me. Made her makeup and just stuck it on the shelf with the other jars, wide open to set, didn't wear gloves, rubbed the finished lipstick pencil across her own hand to show the color instead of putting it on the client, and never used hand sanitize or any sort of wipe once.
