As Much as I love Leon.... Jill will always hold a special number 1 spot in my heart because Resident Evil 3 was the first game I played in PS1 and was instantly hooked. I will never ever forget these lines "September 28th, daylight. The monsters have overtaken the city. Somehow, I’m still alive... ". Even now, sometimes I play it back to refresh the good old memories.
Jill was done really dirty in the remake. I can't hate her any more as a character in that version.
Jill is my absolute favourite too because of the "I'll give you stars" line but that line was so horribly misplaced that it disappointed me deeply. Still my No1 though and even thought Capcom majorly redesigned her, she still looks as hot as ever in the remake.
Meh, i played remake 3 and she’s just alice with new lara croft’s personality. She wasn’t even that unique character at all like trying too hard to be fake feminist character only to show her trauma sh!t. Nothing interesting at all. If she has trauma and complain about all the damn time and being unprofessional, she should retire nobody forced her to do those works. I’m glad they nailed leon all the time.
Ethan is honestly one of my favs, he’s got a lot of dedication and strength, and RE7+8 were honestly amazing RE games. I like how different Ethan’s character is instead of being another agent or cop or something like that. He’s sick asf
i like how Ethan is the only "normal" guy. the only other non cop or agent was really Claire because she wasn't a cop or agent in RE2 she was just chris redfield's sister. Ethan is the only dude who is just a dude and I love it.
My biggest pet peeve with Ethan is not a problem with his character.
I just really disliked the first person aspect of his games. I always preferred third person RE, and hope they go back to that for 9. I don't feel connected to Ethan because you only ever see his hands or his reflection in a mirror, really. Combine that with how quiet he usually is, and he's pretty much a nonexistent space in my mind.

Leon was albeit a rookie in RE2, but eventually became "the guy you send when you need an army" after that game. Claire was the most normal, but was trained by kratos impersonator Chris. Chris is kratos. Jill is doomguy. Leon is John Wick. Claire is Rambo. Ethan's... some dude. Just a guy that loves his family so much he'd face the worst of the worst on a chance to get them back.

Losing Piers Nivans so soon and in such a away was both disappointing but also enhanced his character. I was left wanting so much more of him but also appreciating how strong and selfless he was. I do be very much wish he’d survived.

So I got into Resident Evil through the RE2make and Leon as well as Claire quickly became my favorites.

Personally I really like Ethan. He's just a normal guy, who gets kidnapped and gets limbs ripped off, but he still manages to get through it to save his wife. Now that's what I call dedication.

Leon has become my favorite video game protagonist of all time. He's witty, quick thinking, his one-liners and dumb jokes make almost anyone smile, and he simply has a great heart pushing towards whats right. Everything about him I find interesting, and am so entertained whenever we see him whether that be in the games or movies!

I think another reason why I love Leon so much in RE and why he totally deserves his number 1 spot, is because in both RE2 Remake and RE4 Remake, he’s got an incredible vocal theme that plays in the credits. Saudade showing the fear and acceptance of his trauma, and The Bullet or The Blade showing Leon’s drive to keep moving forward despite the ones he’s lost. A true hero for ANY generation to strive for ❤

To be real though they did trash him. But it wasn't just Leon though, Jill got it pretty bad and was cringe. That whole movie just didn't really do any of the characters justice but was it was their take on them.

See the reason why I like Leon so much is one is how you can see how's he's changed over the games and movies. And even after all he's been through he still going to lengths to do what's right. Basically what you said I agree with

I’ve played all of the re games except the 4 remake and Chris is the only character that feels the same. The other re characters feel like different characters sometimes. Chris feels like “Chris” but gets hardened each game
Chris is a literal manchild if you read his history outside the games. Hates his father because, argh, authority figures! His famous temper is constantly rewarded and ONLY because he somehow wins in the end, him getting his team killed every time is forgiven.
@@XXSteel He doesn't need drastic growth because he is a well-established character. Simple yet effective, a soldier who grew fed up with his boss, left the military for a better cause, lost so much, and found the reason in his loss to keep fighting.
Chris portrayed how Human would react in those situation, he ain't playing game because he knew the stakes.

Claire is definitely my favorite character IDEA. unfortunately, the games after 2 shaft her so badly she never really does anything. Even in Infinite Darkness she's just... kinda there. Sure she kicks ass in Degeneration and I haven't seen Death Island yet and there's also Revelations 2, but that's basically everything she's in. Re9 should 100% have Claire as either a major character or protagonist.

Revelations 2 gets soooo much hate without any reason tbh, that game was fantastic and we got to see Claire, Moira (Barry's Daughter) and Barry in the SAME FREAKING GAME, HOW FUCKING COOL IS THAT?
and Revelations 2 was the first game that brought a bit of Horror back into the game, no one can tell me that this game was all action, cause to me it felt like as if they for the first time in a long while tried to make it more Horror'ish than Action-like, sure they have failed here and there, but if you played it sneaky and not just went all like: "ME, GO IN, BANG BANG" it had alot of Horror-esk features to it, not as much as RE7 and RE8 afterwards, but still more than RE5, RE6, RE REV1 had before and it was Co-Op which was cool af.
and brought a new mechanic with Natalya and Moira to the game, which i fucking looooooved.

but, also talking about Claire, she really shines in Revelations 2, she's the force in her campaign, she is like the leader in the game, also she's the face of the game just like she's the face on Code Veronica, they never did her wrong in a game, they did her wrong just on the movies, because she's kinda of a researcher, in Death Island, she has her moments, but isn't her movie, it's Jill's movie, so she is there, but she's just a second character like Chris, Rebecca and Leon, i really hope she comes back besides Jill, a game of the first protagonists of the initial arc of the franchise, it would be so cool

I think Ethan is underrated. Sure he makes some really stupid remarks but it's nice to play as an average guy fighting against all odds to save those he loves.

To be honest, Rebecca is my favorite. She is the most realistic character in my eyes since most of us would react in those situation just like her. She is reliable and passionate about her friends even if she is not a skilled cop yet. She didnt have time to improve the way Chris or Jill did during their career for example, thats the reason she doesnt have much to put on the table. She got potentional but I doubt Campcom will bring her back. Still, I cant wait to see her in Dead Island, she was a likeable character in Vendetta even though she barely had any action scenes. It was a pleasent surprise to see her again. :D

Ethan is unironically my favorite protagonist in the series not because hes the coolest or strongest or even because he has an interesting personality but his resolve is just hella inspiring to me. The fact that hes just some dude who wants to be with his family no matter what happens and is just forced into these hellish situations that he fights through because of his sheer willpower and determination is just simply inspiring. His death was just so perfectly done too.

I miss her old face, she was so pretty in 1-5 but her new model just feels a lot more basic tbh. I was so annoyed when I found out they are using her re3remake model for the new movie and scrapped ideas/designs for a newer version of her.
I don't get why people complain about her personality though, she did act like she did in the re3 remake as she did in the original re3 game acting more cold and stand-offish in both I think you have to keep in mind that she had just gone through the Spencer Mansion incident about a month ago and has been harassed and stalked by umbrella ever since and most of the new allies she has in the game are employed by Umbrella so it's obvious why she acts differently towards the people around her in that game.
Comparing it to how she is in Revelations, RE5 (mainly the dlc that takes place with chris before the game) and RE1 she is interacting with people she knows and trusts so she comes off as a lot kinder and trusting deffinately when she is around Chris.

Leon has become my favorite video game character ever after the remakes as well! Just an awesome character in an awesome franchise
Claire is my favorite, and I think it's just because after playing all the games she's in, she's a very relatable character who just wants the best for the people she interacts with. She's not full of hatred after trying to find Chris and getting thrown into the scariest night of her life, in fact, she continues to push through and try to find him. And she gets two people who don't use guns, Sherry and Moira, through insane situations all by herself. She's also very understanding, kind, and headstrong. Not to mention the fact that she IS totally a badass.

I've loved Claire ever since I was introduced to the franchise via the original RE2 game. She's just such a relatable character because she's one of the few who isn't a trained soldier of some sorts but is dropped into this dangerous world and steps up to help. But like you said, there aren't any bad protagonists in this series. Every game is fun to play and a large part of that is because you care about the people you're controlling.

People will ship whatever they want to ship. But that doesn't change that shipping Jill with anyone other than Chris is ridiculous to me.
Also I'm convinced that those who ship Jill with Carlos have only played RE3R and not the games that show Jill and Chris pretty much have had feelings for each other since the original first game. And that's sad.
Leon, Billy Coen, Rebecca Chambers, Jill, Carlos, Wesker, Nemesis, William Birkin, Spencer, Ada, Lisa, RE4 market guy, Krauser, Luis Sera, Saddler, and Claire Redfield are not only the most iconic RE characters, but the best RE characters (imo)

Man, i would love the return of Sherry, seeing her in Resident Evil 6 was mindblowing to me, from being this girl that you cared in RE2, to a literally playable character, not only that helps to establish a connection with Sherry as a character, but the background and story that the creators gave to her made her such a unique asset.
I mean, she literally has regeneration powers.
But what i would completely agree 120%, is that we NEED an Ada Wong game.

A question for the people crapping on RE3 remake Jill's character: what more could you ask for? Capcom preserved the foundation of her personality (determined, altruistic, vulnerable (in a good way), a team player, etc...) and then depicted the trauma from RE1 (distraught, hot-headed, mistrustful, etc...), and then added an extra dose of humor and sarcasm (similar to Leon), not to mention a phenomenal voice actress and visual model that expressed a great range of emotionality.
The main thing is the "Hot Headed" and snarky bit. Jill is considered to be cool/calculated in tense situations, it's supposed to be her trait that separates her from other characters. One liners and snarkiness is a Leon thing. Many fans from 1996 don't want everyone to be like Leon and don't have this kind of picture of Jill in their minds

I understand the distrust and dismissiveness, Its the mannerisms and personality that don't feel consistent. An example would be her retorts to carloses flirting. Would be more in character to not give him the satisfaction by responding like an annoyed teenager? I'm not totally sure how to describe it l, it just feels off.

For me Ethan is my absolute favorite, I mean the dude went through so much in re7 but still kept his psyche somehow stable for re8 and them shit befell him again. My man started another fight again and gave all he had. Simple man, doesn't have much gun knowledge yet somehow beats if not the most then at least one of the most strongest resident evil villain, Jack Baker (well not completely but still) and lives to see another day. I absolutely love him, and in my list he takes the number one spot, not the king of one liners Leon, Not Boulder Punching Chris, not cute Claire or Jill but this absolutely normal dude, Ethan.
Note- I am just playing RE8 right now so if I got any information wrong about it or anything else, forgive me for that, also please dont spoil the game, I have completed till Moreau only yet.

For me, personally, Chris and Leon were always 1A and 1B. Interchangeable depending on the scenario. While Chris' character can be inconsistent, his ties to Wesker puts him at the top of the list for me.
Edit: Chris, Jill, and Leon are 1A, 1B, and 1C. Interchangeable depending on the scenario. I completely overlooked Jill's encounter with Nemesis in Resident Evil 3. Also, just saw Resident Evil: Death Island. It's extremely difficult not to put her up there with Chris and Leon.

i dont really agree with sheva's placement. i think she was a great character and definitely a better "player 2" than the others. i would've loved to see her appear in more games

Seeing Ethan's hands constantly being abused really made him grow on me
Personal favorite is ethan 2nd is jill and 3rd is leon. Ethan strays away from the cliché mc for a resident evil game of being a trained super agent or cop on a mission. Hes just some guy who would go through hell and receive punishment like i haven't seen before in a resident evil game just so he cam save his family. Besides his side dialogue never really bothered me its just any other dialogue in any other resident evil game. Jill my 2nd for most of the same reasons said in the video. And leon just like everybody agrees is just the goat.
If you needed footage and help for the other RE protagonists in other RE games especially Dead Aim I would've been happy to provide footage and help make the video longer and add more protagonists with the side games that are still cannon to the story.
Good video anyway fella, does suck sheva is bit low but ngl she hasn't been a very active protag in the series so unless she got more games (or if that sheva like voice was actually her in Village) then you may have put her lil higher.

Jill is my favorite, Claire 2nd,Ada 3rd, Rebecca 4th, Leon 5th, Chris 6th. Piers dying is the only thing that drops him way lower.
