Fix Particle or Chipboard Screw Holes 🧰

  • Repair any furniture that has damaged particle board / chipboard using one of two methods mentioned in this video and you'll be able to extend it's life.
    Manufacturing furniture with particle board is very low cost and is commonly found in many famous brands including IKEA but the downside is that it is weak and rip out can occur after a few years of usage.
    Screw rip out is very typical with the screw holes for hanging kitchen cabinet door hinges due to the weight load on the weak wood composite.

    Great advice on the taped depth guide, but any tips on how to prevent the drill going in too fast (and accidentally through the entire board thickness)?

    do you need a pivot holes for larger screws?

      Yes a pilot hole should be drilled first when using a larger screw.
