Hi you don't know me, but my name's Chris and I'm a Stage Right student in the homeschool group. I just wanted to say I really loved both Snow White and Sleeping Beauty and I'm actually writing my own musical based on Rapunzel.
h193013 That's wonderful! Dave and Greg, the original two writers for Stage Right Theatricals, began as Stage Right students, and Lena, the composer on this project, wrote shows for her friends to perform in her spare time! The earlier you start, the better you get, so follow that dream :)
Writing this comment? Yes! But it's not just MY page, anyone in the production company could be posting here. That's why I wrote it in the third person- sorry for the confusion!
You guys should do a sequel where Briar Rose and the prince have children and then an ogre tries to eat them. There is a version of Sleeping Beauty where that happens after she's woken up.
Hi, I just want to say that I've seen parts of this play and I think this is a good play. Is there a way that I can look at the script of this play and that of "Snow White?" Did you find the scripts for those plays on a website? How did y'all come up with the play? Who originally wrote it? Can I read those scripts?
Yes! This show was created by Neverland Theatricals for Stage Right! Professional Theatre in 2014. The rights are available if you want to do the show with your company- just email me!
Actually, we license it ourselves in-house for now. In fact, it's getting its school premiere with Westmoreland County Home Schoolers this spring! Email us at greg.kerestan@gmail.com and I will pass your request on to the rest of the creative team. Just let us know what your organization is, when you want to do the show, etc. We'll get back to you with everything else.
Spider7o Up fun fact: when the composer was given the lyrics to “Lament,” the only advice we gave her for how the song should work was “think of when David Bowie has that breakdown at the end of Labyrinth.”
No problem! The dialogue wasn't from the soundboard- it was live audio from the camera mic. Doderic was just being chased by the guys because they always bully him, and he tried to stop them from stealing apples. Hope that helps!
The actual story wasn't even made by Disney so it could have some parts from other versions. Like i watched a movie where Briar Rose had a friend. I don't think he worked in the stables though. Also there's obviously lots of versions where Briar Rose is asleep for a long time and the Prince hears the story about it and goes to find her. But i'm pretty sure they wrote this, not really looking at other versions XD
Niko, we love dragons as much as anyone else does, but this version has nothing to do with Disney's famous retellings. It was loosely inspired by the original fairy tale, as well as by the comedy stylings of Monty Python.
This show is amazing. I love the music in this show and snow white
Wow, these people in this musical really got talent!!!
This is an amazing performance of the classic fairy tale sleeping beauty - i really enjoyed this theatre version
This is a great play!Thanks

What did Diderot say the guys were chasing him for? I can't understand him-he talked too fast
Is this dubbed in english if it's the french version?
It’s in English. It’s not a French version; this show was written and premiered in Pittsburgh in 2014.
