Thank you for watching! We would love to hear if you have ever tried trimming around your dogs eyes at home?

Yes and I used curved scissors, but with the curve pointing out away from the eyes so as to not poke or cut the dog 🐶 👁

@@bencote2219 Thanks for commenting Ben! That is a smart way to do it with the curve pointing out the other way, great suggestion!

I used to do my spaniel/poodle with some small blunt-end scissors. Now I have a Bernedoodle puppy and will have to get bigger ones but as a natural-born clutz, I will always get the rounded ends.

The difference between this dog and mine, is yours sits patiently as you brush his face, whereas mine tries to kill me.

Thanks for watching. Groomers have to have a very sturdy hand especially around the face. The shears we use are extremely sharp and accidents can happen very quickly if the dog makes a wrong move. The dogs that come to me know how to behave when I am grooming them because I am compassionate but firm with them. So many of my customers always comment that their dog would never let them do things things I can do this is because the dogs and I have a true understanding of each other. Sorry if it makes you cringe

@@FurryFriendsZone sorry i dont mean to be rude, I meant cringe as in like when you see someone fall and eat it and you cringe with an eye closed and a squirm cause it looks painful. the video was insightful definitely

This was very helpful! I have heard to put your scissors at 45-degree angle after you comb the hair forward, but I have not seen the V trick. I will have to try that! Also your " hows it going?" to the dog was so sweet. You did a nice job. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for watching! We are so glad to hear it was helpful :) Using the V trick works very well! Please let us know how it works out after trying it. If you ever have any questions please let us know :)

This was the most helpful of the ones I watched, because I've missed seeing his eyes between his four week grooms.

  • @MarisaAndChew

lol my dog couldnt see and was walking into things and missing food. It had only been 6 weeks since he was groomed. I took scissors to him, it's winter here, he doesn't need to look cute, he just needs to see, he is apparently terrified of scissors, near his face so he got what the squirming allowed for! I did do his forehead a bit further back but that was intentional since he was scared of the scissors and I didn't want to have to do it again in a few days. His hair grows so fast! Been clipping him and scissoring him now myself most of the winter, just to keep mats and such tidied up without having to pay for a full groom, I tell him when he is done "you look liike a proper farm dog wearing Uggs" he loves winter and wants his feet in the snow soo he won't be winning any fashion shows anytime soon :D

Hi thanks for watching. That’s great that you can maintain him yourself and that he lets you. Keeping hair out of his face and his eyes clean makes things much more pleasant for your pup that’s for sure.❤️🐶❤️

I think part of what made it seem rough was the sound of the brushing in her microphone. Dog didn’t seem affected at all and the slicker brush tines give as they go through the hair, I use a really wide tooth comb for my doodle and his groomer has commented that he is never matted

I have a lhasa poo that isn't quite so cotton ballish:), fluffy but more straight and less kinky. It sticks up when cut and brushed but lays down with time and dirt lol. The only thing I can brush him with is a metal comb! The slicker brush seems to just brush right over top, Maybe due to an undercoat? Any tips?
