- After the first photo of Kate Middleton released since her surgery was recalled by photo agencies for apparent manipulation, the princess responded to the backlash and shared an explanation. “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” she said NBC’s Molly Hunter reports for TODAY.

The entire image isn’t real, it was created, and not very well at that. Some of the kids’ hands look all wonky, etc. It makes it look like they aren’t available for photographing, like the princess is missing perhaps. That’s why people are upset.

Try to get three children to pose for a picture. Almost every kind of camera phone has this kind of editing software, so you can combine "good" shots. They probably just didn't do a great job of it. Her original statement said it all. She's trying to keep things normal for her kids. She loves children so much, but if your stomach muscles need to repair after surgery, try having kids running around, regardless of any "help." Imagine all the mixed emotions she (and they're) having. Have an ounce of empathy. Truly, it's much ado about nothing.

After seeing the various spots that were edited, I couldn't help but notice the spots are mostly of people's hands (or near), so I believe they removed something from their hands.. but what and why would they remove objects? Unless it was some toy guns or recognizable action figures (i.e. marvel), would it really be necessary?
