- As fallout grows after Kate Middleton admitted to editing a family photo and more than a dozen inconsistencies were spotted, Kensington Palace is refusing to release the original photograph. NBC’s Molly Hunter reports for TODAY and Daisy McAndrew joins with analysis.

Imagine releasing a fake photo and trying to pass it off as real. You still haven't seen Kate in 2024, you don't even know if she had surgery. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. They've been caught in several lies and it just keeps going. As for her healing, she doesn't need to be affected by any of it. You think she's on Twitter and social media, checking for news about herself? Ridiculous. she has 5 estates upon which to recouperate from, surely you can't feel sorry for her. The best medical care, all free, full time nursing on call, butlers, maids, she doesn't have to lift a finger.
Meanwhile the homeless are still starving in the streets and what has William really done for them, other than announce he's going to build 24 apartments some time in the future.
This is such a stupid controversy.
It actually is not a controversy. The AP directed its media members to retract a photo, and that is what happened. The AP cannot force Kensington Palace to do the same, so people can still view it there.

Michael Bloomberg made a joke about it as he handed over the Earthshot donation that William had come to beg for. Because it was a joke.
But British media didn’t treat it like a joke, and that’s the answer to your question. They are accustomed to being lied to about the royal family, but choose to believe it.

@@manonxg Other sources are saying that the metadata on that photo shows it was taken a week or two ago (I don’t remember the specifics) at their cottage..and that it is a mix of a few photos taken unprofessionally within a 40 minute period.

They wear the same clothes but changed the hair and skirt from Charlotte and sweater from Louis. Exactly those things are edited in the photo "from last week". They also used a colour filter over her sweater which is super easy to do. The question is not if it's real - because it's not. Not even her left fingers are real. The question is, why are they lying by "this photo is from last week" and then blaming Kate for absurd edits?

All the controversy over the photo is so silly. Try to get three children to pose for a picture. The metadata revealed it was taken last week, and via Photoshop, it was a combination "good" shots. They probably just didn't do a great job of it. The original statement about her health said it all. She's trying to keep things normal for her kids. She loves children so much, but if your stomach muscles need to repair after surgery, try having kids running around, regardless of any "help" you might have. Imagine all the mixed emotions she (and they're) having. Have an ounce of empathy. Truly, it's much ado about nothing

This was more than simple edits, or else the direction to retract would not have been issued.
TODAY Show? Are you the National Enquirer now? You are above these kinds of stories! Leave her alone. Everyone edits their own photos these days! She probably selected the best photos from several different photos so each of the folks would look their best.
As a photographer many of us use the new AI photo editors to touch up and brighten things in photos. So maybe that’s what happened to Kate’s photo. Maybe she was pregnant and was showing in this photo and lost that baby and wanted to keep that private and that can explain the abdominal surgery she had. Who knows, just let her be and hopefully until then she can learn to photo shop her photos better or hire a professional photographer to edit them.
Kate and the rest of the royal family has an ocean of people and professionals that handle these things. She did not take the photo, she did not edit the photos, she did not deliver the photo, she did not handle the file, she did not have anything to do with this mishap. She may edit her own photos on her cellphone with some modern AI app, but not an official photos meant to be used in a press release worldwide.
Pretty poor excuse for a photographer if you can ignore the glaring editing issues in these photos. But judging by your profile picture, it makes sense that you would oversee very basic things...

Metadata confirmed it was 4 photos, taken a few seconds apart, 2 days before it was released. The photos were merged to get the best picture of the kids. What’s the problem? This is bullying of the worst kind. Just leave her alone…

No, the photo was totally fake, they put an old image of her head on this body. You don't seem to understand Prince William committed fraud when he knowingly release a totally fake photo. That's why the Palace is no longer a "trusted source." He destroyed any credibility the monarchy had. No one believes a word out of William's mouth now. It also goes to show Harry was telling the truth the whole time. He talked about how William issued a "joint" statement from the two of them that Harry had never seen or signed off on. William forged Harry's signature.

Speculation:
Pippa Middleton told Kate that she was being physically abused by Thomas Kingston; when Kate had an opportunity to confront Thomas, things got physical; Kingston hit Kate, resulting in William quickly jumping in. The fight then escalated between William and Thomas until Thomas died.
