The sad truth is I don't know a single successful musician that doesn't play cover songs. I made the decision years ago as a musician to not play covers in live concerts for the most part and it made it so much harder for people to connect. I painted abstract exclusively for years and found that mixing in the occasional recognizable character helps sell the art and when you're working artist that's what you have to do, is sell art... So thanks for the kind words and for the understanding. ❤️
@@michaelgarfield as I’m sitting here struggling to sell my art.. lol I get it man. Also made the no cover songs decision when I started playing bass at 11. Nobody will look at my work let alone purchase an original. You are talented man. I love Giger too.
@@Sprtm as I've gotten older *be softened on the "no cover songs" position...it's good to celebrate the artists that inspire us and to create meaningful first impressions. Good luck out there...!
Sasa Jugovic thanks! Somewhat missing the point of my irreverent rainbow-ificication of Giger's nightmare...maybe this makes it more obvious?: 😉 steemit.com/art/@michaelgarfield/rainbow-unicorn-pegasus-xenomorph
Alien is still one the most unique movie creatures ever
🤯 🤯 🤯 Giger would approve sir!
I sure hope so!
Xenomorph biomechanical design is on point! So good! My alien drawing ends up looking like a blob of spaghetti
Thank you! I got a lot of practice in grade school. 🧛
Beautiful! I'd like to ask what are the two "pens" you use at the beginning? I mean the white and the next one. Really awesome work.
Thank you! The first is a Sharpie oil paint bold tip and the second is a Liquitex gray (70%? I forget) acrylic paint 1" tip.
A beautiful piece and I think the music went brilliantly with this creation.
Thanks @Janine! You can grab this (and many other) tunes for free at bit.ly/the-good-old-days if you're interested. :)
Muito bom 👏👏👏👏

It’s like being and extremely talented musician playing in a cover band.
