Read the FULL guide on the Muay Thai Low Leg Kick: www.fighttips.com/muay-thai-lo...
The low leg kick, or "cut kick" is a staple of Muay Thai. It is meant to "chop" down your opponent, little by little, and shut down their leg muscles. After a few leg kicks, your opponent will not be able to put any pressure on that leg, so their footwork, kicks, and punches will be virtually useless. Make sure you practice the Muay Thai kick often, and master it, so you can "chop" your opponent's legs down! - กีฬา
now i can be annie leonhart

Lmao wtf
I searched it too lol
Goodluck doing this without proper shin conditioning lmao
But you’re a weeb and weebs are usually out of shape
;-;
In my Muay Thai class my instructor didn’t go into every small detail in how to properly kick so I was extending my leg to early and in my session yesterday I remembered this video and my kicks nearly doubled in strength as they allow you to push in with your hips more on contact
Annie approves this
Thats how I got here
lmao
AH YES MY PEPS!
The reason I’m here

I train martial arts since years, and thats the best short Muay thai Kick video i have ever seen!
Showing what NOT to do is critical, when it comes to good teaching..! Awesome!
You train martial arts since years? Hahaa.. yeah ok bro
Stockton Muthafuc*a don't act like you can do it, you have to master the pain and keep up your pace. Otherwise, you might as well lose. For me, I practice mixed martial arts for 4 years and still kicking. Try not to act super macho when that time comes for you.
I also don't give a fucking rats ass about winning or losing.
@@aliezahjuarez5723 you literally just said try not to act super macho but then said stockton mfer LMAOOO aint nothing more macho then diaz
I really like how you showed the bad technique in black&white, very helpful psychological trick!
I’m a boxer and just thought learning to kick would be cool lol
Knowing how to boxe and how to throw (and defend from) low kick can save ya in a self defence circumstance
Become a kick boxer

I am now on my 4th year of kickboxing my hands are quick asf and do crazy combos but my kicks need major improvement lol.

Just want to extend my thanks to you for taking the time to help us folks that can't always get to the dojo or gym. I practice at home and utilize your tips and techniques.
How did practicing at home go? I'm training at home but I don't know if it's worth going to a dojo yet
one of the best explanation about roundhouse kick, i've seen more than 10 videos about roundhouse kick, but this one belongs to one of the best
Great video as always. My instructors didn't seem to really care for them and wanted to brush past them. Thanks for the great content!
Leonhart squad where you at?
Wtf no one responded

Greetings
I only have the time to go to Muay Thai class once maybe twice a week.. This channel is about to help me so much more than you understand, thank you bro❤
Brother I love your videos because of you my fighting abilities have improved a lot, thank you for your videos I have been learning from you for almost 4 years.
This was very helpful. watched 5-10 videos searching, usually the same thing, a good set up, quick, simultaneously and good intent with advertising and actual reward. So, I appreciate it. I also absolutely need self defense and have learned how important kicks are as distance, knocking weapons away for more advantage theoretically, and set-ups in street fights to give balance advantage, not that I can do all this properly point is I've gotten my kicking better this year, learned to summon demons , and this helps a lot. thx.
Used this in school because a bully was going to punch me, then I used Annie’s move where she chokes Eren. I didn’t choke him though, just brought him down and left. Felt like a damn boss
Suuuure, unless your 10 or younger or trained you aren't taking a guy down unless your fat and jump on his back by suprise while headlock choking
@@rivenblaze7776 he did say iin school
@@migerrancan554 but still do you know how weak untrained girls are,he just let her "beat" him because she's a girl

dude so glad your doing this fight tips i have been watching your channel sense 2011
Thank you so much for teaching man. I actually learned this kicks at the ending of your video. I've been teaching myself mixed martial arts for 4 years and it feels fucking fantastic!!
Thanks for breaking this down (I'm still pretty new to this), kicks always look so simple when you just watch them but footwork is key!
I'm going to start adding this to my bag drills for sure, hopefully I can get it down soon :D
I always watch your videos and practice the techniques; thnx Shane!
Excellent tips, I'll be practicing tonight, much appreciated!
Been watching Shane since I was like 16 15 crazy I stumbled on you again 💪💪
Helped a lot. Thanks Shane
Fist time ever I find a good video were they explain the kick perfectly well I think
The best expo on this kick on the whole of TH-cam :)
Thanks for the video, I've had trouble with learning this kick! :)
I needed fine a beginner to learn leg kicks and this guy is the perfect candidate
Subscribed because of the motto. Super true. And also because of great content!
So anyway ye iv been kicking the bag wrong for about 9 months 🙋🏻♂️
actually a very good video. i wondered why i was always seeming to line my feet up on the leg kick. turns out i was extending far too late. granted my Kru corrected me, but for anyone else not working under someone, take note
That was powerful.
thank you for this training you're like a master
Pause at 0:59 thats how my year book picture looks...

Aaaand Christopher Ryan Curtis comes back with a STUNNING rebuttal!
lol me to but not yearbook picture my picture in the attendance book for my teachers
@Christopher Ryan Curtis you shut up
@Christopher Ryan Curtis Bruh that’s racist why did you have to say “black”
This is the most useful video I have seen on TH-cam.All other videos. Even the video of yokkao all failed to solve my problem.I used to kick like a round house.I don't know the reason myself. All I know is that my kicking is terrible. Thank you.
Awesome video. Learned a lot here! Right on. 🙌🥊🏆
Do more kick videos

I also do Muay Thai, but had problems with the turning.. Well, I hope I'll get my teacher impressived by this video; Thanks!
Shane always looks chill.
It's as if he is teaching pop-locking.
Im from Thailand, I like it!!!! Keep up the good work!
Quick good on this one mate!
Look at the hand movements as well when you throw a kick. - I realised when I got told for that in my classes.
Nice bro! Appreciate the help
Man I love you Shane ypur the best dude ! You deff got experience and know what ur talking about .
Thanks! It worked great on my little brother.
aaahah lol
Thank you soo much for these defense and how to videos I really do appreciate it I'm just waiting for the next bully to pick on me.
Ty bro for the info..Ur the best Shane..
Thank you for the video. Really appreciate it
Really good chopping down on the tea drop muscle. Works and its quick if practice
In fact, no rotation with the other leg hurts on the hip and knee and isnt that good in the future. So after many years of Martial arts i allways wonder how much important stuff i ve learned since i am in MT about body moving, rotation, technique and spirit of kicks, blocks and ellbows i NEVER was teached in TKD, HKD or Modern Arnis. Thats why MT fighters are that dangerous. I regret to waste so many years in the wrong MA but now i do my best. Thanks esp Shane for your great tips, and even i am 54 yrs now and just in MT for a few months i think my understanding about kicks and stances are better than ever.
This is been on my mind for the last 3 weeks and I keep neglecting it but my locate suck ass thanks for making this video
Great video make more like this!
Good! Learning this now!
A number of Ajahns actually teach no quad extension at all, 100% of power coming from the twist and swing of the hip, and an almost straight loose leg. This also delivers a punishing blow, in general leg kicks are amazing and if legal in your sport should always be a focus.
Thanks, my grandma didn't stand a chance!
I wanna subscribe more than once.. just because you derserve it!
This is dutch muay-thai kick. Specifical to kickboxing/K-1 Gyms.
Shane. I struggle with Hip Flexibility on this move. Any stretches and or tips on improving this? Sometimes when I go up on my left in the middle of my pivot it feels like I can't turn completely because my hip is so stiff.
Thank you for this video. Ive been teaching my daughter self defense for 6-8 months. Doing boxing classes and teaching her wrestling. Ive been trying to teach her leg kicks ( I believe they are the ultimate self defense tool) but I was having trouble explaining everything to her. This video helped a lot.
This is why we fuck with you shane
STILL LEARNING IN 2020 THANKS
Shane, how about taking us into different types of Muay. These other muays are so much more practical for your channel. I believe your viewers are not going to compete, they are more interested in beating back bullies, and self protection.
Awesome video good explanation
Hey shane, when are you going to make a Q&A video?
The great ironshin techneque... COOL
I really liked your vídeo!!!!
The foot placement after the step before the kick is key. Before this I could only get power into high kicks
guy looks so blazed 🤣 great video
Love your explanation power is key in real self defense you would take out the knee
Good shit shane! Thank u
Great lesson
Thanks for making/posting these;its a confidence builder while sometimes funny/entertaining.Used to take Shotokan when I was much younger, but I wasnt able to stick with it because of funds.
Some say Karate is not useful in a real street fight.Would you find truth in that?
+Karnage Fails Depends on how you train , but generaly it is very useful! If you train a lot of kumite and perfect the techniques it is just as useful as muay thai. Check out Conor Mcgregor, Lyoto Machida and others.
César Alves Tnx for the referrals,I'm gonna check it out
Karnage Fails No problem, they are both UFC fighter who have been succesfull using karate. You can also check out Georges St-Pierre
Those shorts are badass
oh my. I wish there was such a thing in my day. It looks like so much watching my grandkids do it
Very good video
This is where my MMA career starts lmao😂😂
Good video. Low kicks rule!
Great videos Shane .But this kick without shin protection in street fight would be painful to execute if you don't strike a soft target.
Trust me it works..just keep kicking the banana bag. Look up Phoenix jones superhero on TH-cam. The guy is a real life kickass version and he beat a guy with leg kicks. The vid is about eight mins long
That's why you kick there thighs
Tested on my 8yo brother, works pretty well
Hey Shane, can you do a video on side kicks.
This used to be my strongest technique couple months ago when I used to do muay thai
I think you'd do real well in movies....
I was trained to kick a bit more toward the inside of the bone. Shin blade, it seems like your hitting right on the front of your shin? Love the vids
The 3 checkboxes at the beginning and the end of this video are so important. The video was cool, but the encouragement to only fight in self defense and not be a bully is so important, that those checkboxes alone were worth giving this video an upvote. Plus, nowadays, with video cameras everywhere and social media sharing and cloud storage and the internet, the likelihood of being caught and punished if you misuse martial arts is really high, and getting in trouble with both the police and the general public is very probable.
Learning this just in case
Love the Infomercial Black & White, LOL
Lol always thought I was kicking wrong because I had 2 years of kickbox training but stopped and started again but I did it right al along
"you want to bend the knee..." ok daenerys targaryen
Thanks bro
I’d love to be that stoned.
Hes so high😂😂😭
You're a god
You lift you leg up a bit before you bring it down onto the opponents leg, turning the hip down into it, that's where the power comes from
I remember these old days
When do I keep the standing leg bent and when do I stretch it fully?
You don't extend the leg in Muay Thai like that, you keep the knee slightly bent as you make contact but you don't extend as you reach the target. That makes it less powerful and is more of a Karate style kick.
Thanks for pointing that out. I noticed something wasn't right with the technique.
citysambo No that is how you do a Muay Thai low kick. Shane has another video on this topic. You have to realize that if they did Taekwondo-like kicks they could end up getting swooped from under by leg kicks
@Nikolaij Brouiller is right on the money. Trainers in thailand have a lot of variations in their methods and style. Just like western boxers and mixed martial artists.
bro I have been saying this exact same thing for years gyms in Thailand are just like Boxing gyms in the USA all basically the same but most with different tweaks and methods
I agree, in my opinion for middle and high kicks even if you hit with the shin you extend the leg in sort of a whip motion. For low kicks i've found out with the years that it is more effective and powerful to not extend the leg and it hits more like a bat instead of a whip.
nice man
