Riley mentioned treating processes, and would love to see it done as well. I’m kind of concentrating on Boulder Opal right now, and this parcel looks amazing.
@@jhcali71 Yeah me and riley were kicking around ideas a few months back to improve treatments. He gave it a crack but I'll record the process as I trial a few methods.
I'm voting #1 or #4, you've almost convinced me to buy a parcel from Nick, not just cos of the beautiful stones he also sounds like a swell guy and that means something to me.
I would like to see number 3! I have some similar to that so seeing what you do to sort it out will give me good insight to when I work mine. Thanks as always!
I love these "unboxing" videos, it's such a rush getting new stones in the mail. Still haven't messed with any boulder opal! Every time you make another video with them I definitely consider buying some. Some absolutely incredible pieces in that parcel! Nick is going to be getting a couple new friends after seeing all these beauties! Have you ever sold one of your stones(finished or not)? My vote is IV, love the almost grain looking pattern around it.

Hey Roy, the stone you picked up at around the 7:40 mark right after putting those other two stones together for a pair...I'm pretty sure that stone was pre-shaped with the other triangle to make a perfect pair!
Good afternoon Roy. #4 for me. Fan of the blue. I have some boulder opal that looms like the last 4 pieces you showed. I haven't done anything with them yet. Still practicing. Thanks
I personally prefer green but blue are cool especially in darker stones. The boulder matrix is interesting stuff. You might be interested in the treating methods.
👏👏👏👏👏 Boulder....... My eyes. Oh, my EYES!!! 🤣. Great parcel, Roy. Must be addicted. Now that I have had a taste, I WANT MORE!!!!!! Seriously, there are some ripsnorter pieces in there. Can't wait for the next video. 👍
Very interested in seeing and learning about the treatments you mentioned at the end of the video. In the meanwhile, #3 looks like a very interesting challenge!
Hello Roy ,So happy to see some beautiful crystal boulder ive never seen anything less than Nick Hoops top quality material on your fb group amazing stuff and another top video 🤠
4. You can do a stone like Nick was doing that resembles a Blue Eye. Guessing that one was left over from that collection he did awhile back with the blue slits / blue gorges through the stones.
@@nancycurtis7315 problem is the stone was meant for a previous collection by the seller. So not much individuality to be had. Again I'm pretty sure I seen that material previously as stated. Not sure why the laugh, but my input is solid. How many Opal get cut into ovals or other common forms? There isn't as much difference in people's work that you are trying to relay there is. Pardon the delayed response, just thought of a proper one in passing. A previously worked stone, that was meant for something already. Would be best served finishing the job it was set out to. It's an obvious plan moving forward when looking at the stone.
Thank you for another awesome video Roy. As someone very new to the Opal seen I appreciate your knowledge you are sharing with us all. I’d love to see you finish #4. I wonder if you could finish it a double sided pendant that has the ironstone on the outside

Nick sent me a first time buyers parcel for $100, it was amazing for not much, I’m curious as to what you hope to achieve by treating Boulder opal, the matrix is already dark? Stunning parcel, so much to do there. Excited about those vein samples of branch or whatever they were. I’m sure there will be no views curse here, they are all great. Number 4 is the one I’m curious about, good luck
Have you seen treated boulder matrix? That brown ironstone can turn fully black and on lower quality boulder matrix it can transform a boring stone to an incredible piece. Riley (53Frogs) on opal auction has been selling a bit of it lately and it can be stunning.
Hi Roy I have just managed to get my hands on some rough opal ie. shell fragments etc. I'm just wondering if you could help me with acquiring some diamond sintered burrs and pacific nova burrs for my rotary tool . If you could give me a name if place to go I would appreciate it thank you cheers

Some rippers you got there. Hope to see most of them on your channel. But my favorite for starts is galaxy colour #4
It has some nice colour for sure.

Boulder opal is some of the most stable stuff out there. Only had a few fracture over the lasr few years. There are rarely issues in the ironstone.
