@Al Miller In the past history of our American democracy, there were unlimited terms for the U.S.A Presidents. Mr. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s progressive policies, such as the New Deal, which created the social security payments for the elderly senior citizens in America was so overwhelmingly popular that the American voters always voted for Mr. President FDR to be re-elected. When Mr. President FDR passed away very suddenly during the beginning of his fourth term as the President, that’s when Mr. President Harry Truman resumed the Presidency. The republicans were given the fair chance to try to win elections, although the republicans continued to lose to the more progressive Democrats during every Presidential election. As an effort to make it more possible for them to have an actual chance to win in the elections, the republicans amended the constitution to limit the Presidency to only two terms for any President. That’s true. As a very young American generation Z baby and a very young American college graduate with my political science degree, I’m looking forward to campaigning to be our President when I will be old enough for the job in the future. I will be our very first straight male Native American Indian U.S.A President when I win my two terms as our President, because of my fellow American citizens electing me and re-electing me to be our American President. I will bring a woman of color, Madam Vice President Alexandria Ocasio Cortez with me to be our Vice President when I am our U.S.A President. The future is going to be very positive and successful. Our multiracial and multiethnic American democracy will prevail. 🇺🇸
After Admiral Yamamoto informed the Emperor of the loss, they had the Ministry of Propaganda cover up the loss by informing the public they won. They sent many of low ranked sailors who survived on doomsday missions to prevent them from telling anyone about the loss. Needless to say, Japanese soldiers were shocked when the American fleet, that was suppose to have been destroyed, popped up and attacked them
Which was accurate. They were just there. But the most dispiriting part of being a history student over the last 40 years is watching our "education" system change the WWII narrative from "A group of allied nations worked in concert to defeat the most evil empires the world has ever known" to "Russia did everything and beat the Germans all on their own," and "America is *actually* the evil nation and they only dropped the bomb to scare the Russians." I really hate to be the one to rain on a USS Enterprise parade, but the Enterprise shown in the video is CV-65 (Enterprise Class) and was built over ten years after WWII. Instead, it should be CV-6 (Yorktown Class), which served in WWII and is the ship discussed in this video.
The Yorktown‘s hull number was CV-5. Other American carriers were under construction when Yorktown (CV-5) sank, including CV-10, which had the name USS Bonhomme Richard. After USS Yorktown (CV-5) sank, the USS Bonhomme Richard (CV-10), still under construction, was renamed USS Yorktown (CV-10) in honor of the sunken carrier. USS Yorktown (CV-10) was decommissioned in 1970, stricken from the Naval registry in 1973, and is currently a museum ship in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina.
Wait a minute, those three Japanese aircraft carriers got sunk after being targeted due to no defense from Japanese planes as they were miles away looking for US aircraft carriers, leaving the ships indefensible? I could only wonder what the pilots of the returning Zero planes must be thinking, not seeing their aircraft carriers, nowhere to land but the ocean...
It was absolutely criminal that they scrapped the First big E (not the nuclear one but the one discussed in the video. Also could you guys do a video on the USS Laffey?
My dad's oldest living brother served on the CV-6 in WW2. His youngest brother served on the Sumner in Vietnam. Too many inaccuracies. Graphic for Enterprise is of CVN-65, the 1960's nuclear powered carrier. The Doolittle raid of 16 B-25 Mitchells had to launch early because of a Japanese patrol vessel. The planes were unable to reach the safe airfields in China. All but one were destroyed (a lone B-25 landed in Vladivostok and was interred by the Soviets). The 16 bombers attacked multiple targets, not just Tokyo. All the fighters at the Battle of Midway were needed to protect the island! Some of the fighters were used for CAP over the carriers. The rest were used haphazardly to protect some of the torpedo and dive bombers. The fighters, torpedo bombers, and dive bombers were supposed to link up and perform a coordinated attack. However, because of the timing of spotting the Japanese carrier force (under Admiral Nagumo), the squadrons were sent ASAP. They hoped to link up on route, but the majority were unable to do so.

Congratulations! Most of the animated military equipment look like actual World War II vehicles! Except USS Enterprise. The one you showed was the nuclear powered ship, CVN-65, not WWII's CV-6.
Also, the Yorktown and Enterprise were sister ships of the same class.
Because uss enterprise was reborn as a cvn after ww2 era type as a yorktown class
@@Anthony-66 Actually CV 6 Enterprise was decommissioned shortly after WW2 and sold for scrap CVAN Enterprise was commissioned 1961and was the first of the Enterprise class but no sister ships were made. I was stationed on her from 1993 to 1997

Aha, Battle of Midway! Excellent! 👍
Now we have a vague idea of why that ship in Star Trek was called that, heroism an valour!
Shout out to those who repaired the Yorktown in such a short amount of time.
The main reason for the American victory at midway was the intelligence war. America has break Japanese naval codes and knew about the attack. But as well it was to the men and aviators who sacrifice their lives for victory. May those who perished Rest In Peace.
I highly recommend the film Midway for this. The film covers everything from Pearl Harbor to Midway, is incredibly accurate and epic. Ofc it's main character is Richard (Dick) Best who was that one pilot at 10:50 . Although he did not participate in the events after Midway becouse his lounge got heavily damaged in the fight.
Battle 360 is a 10 hour show that covers the entire war. Good stuff infographic show.
But if I remember correctly, some videos are unviewable anymore
Even if the japanese won the battle of midway, America was already about to commission 24 Essex class aircraft carriers, 175 fletcher class destroyers and 4 Iowa class battleships
They had no chance to win from the beginning, exactly as Yamamoto Isoroku predicted
The one thing iowa can be known for
It was ambitious to attack a nation with a higher margin of industrial capacity with equally impressive resources to match.
@@happykiwi dont get me wrong, pearl harbor was a pretty cute attempt. It's like trying to stab a bear with a stick though.

Not trying to be funny.. im European and i know the red lines of the Asian theatre in WWII. But not details like you propably are hinting to...
Sure, i knew "battle for midway" and that it was a carrier battle. But i didnt knew how small those battlegroups were 0.0"
Kamikaze footage allways shows a lot of ships, but that was late war offcours. This is the start of.
Edit: and that the IJN and USN had a totally different approach to their CV tactic (full waves versus suppresion)
By chance today i learned that the battle for Shanghai (1937) is considered the first battle of WWII (wiki).
In school in the netherlands we learn 40-45. Coindentally, our teacher mentioned Sudetenland (German landgrab in '39).
Before i thought that Manchuria was considered the Japans start of the WII......
Edit2: by chance i also know that an Iowa class was fitted with cruise missiles and fired upon Iraq xD and that one of her turrets blew up(cant remember the details)
@ Bismark, love what he said about invading the USA: behind every single patch of grass, there will be an american armed to the teeth xD
Then they were allowed to buy full automatics xD

You're cool!
My uncle Q.D. told me about serving on the CV-6 Enterprise during WW2 and his fellow servicemen who died on her.
Every movie I've seen that depicts the battle at midway is seriously great. Just so much going on!!
Battle 360 is a documentary series of the USS Enterprise. Highly recommend if anyone is curious about the story of the legendary ship and crew.
Yes
Videos like this is why every member of the Marines and Army that likes to bash the Navy need to watch. Branch loyalty is one thing. But don't forget each Branch has honor and that needs to be respected.
These voice effects are hilarious
The Big E. Our nation's greatest warship. May her legacy live on.
She does, in every Star Trek episode and movie. Captain Archer had a picture of this ship in his ready room, not the nuclear carrier.
Darn was hoping they would talk about Richard best who was the one who sunk 2 aircraft carriers in the battle of midway he was in Wade McClusky group
You guys should do a full episode on the uss johnston and the insane and moderately suicidal stuff the ship and crew pulled before it was finally sunk
That’s when the four term U.S.A President, Mr. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the President. 🇺🇸
@Al Miller false it was changed in 1947 when truman a democrat was in office mainly because we don’t want to be a dictatorship
my bad it was 1951 but truman was still in office
No $#!t
@Al Miller
In the past history of our American democracy, there were unlimited terms for the U.S.A Presidents.
I will be our very first straight male Native American Indian U.S.A President when I win my two terms as our President, because of my fellow American citizens electing me and
re-electing me to be our American President.
I will bring a woman of color, Madam Vice President Alexandria Ocasio Cortez with me to be our Vice President when I am our U.S.A President.
The future is going to be very positive and successful.
Our multiracial and multiethnic American democracy will prevail.
🇺🇸
My uncle Jerry an my brother, Rod, both on Enterprise! Not sure uncle's duties, but brother was a plane captain on F-4A fighter plane! Cool!
I wish they made the Enterprise a museum ship
This is pretty much an animated midway. 10/10 I LOVE IT
After Admiral Yamamoto informed the Emperor of the loss, they had the Ministry of Propaganda cover up the loss by informing the public they won. They sent many of low ranked sailors who survived on doomsday missions to prevent them from telling anyone about the loss. Needless to say, Japanese soldiers were shocked when the American fleet, that was suppose to have been destroyed, popped up and attacked them
Doomsday missions?

Japan: I sank their ships
America: I sank your navy and set your islands on fire
Russia: I am just glad to be here :v
Lol 😂
Which was accurate. They were just there. But the most dispiriting part of being a history student over the last 40 years is watching our "education" system change the WWII narrative from "A group of allied nations worked in concert to defeat the most evil empires the world has ever known" to "Russia did everything and beat the Germans all on their own," and "America is *actually* the evil nation and they only dropped the bomb to scare the Russians." Sad indeed.
@@bobw1678 lol wtf america and russia beat the germany at same time while america is beating japan on the pacific lol i know russia gave a big part in ww2 but us just have the bigggest part if dont drop the a bomb and start an invasion for japan more lives will be lost .
@@bobw1678 Japan did to the Chinese what the Germans did to the Jews, but way worse.
@@bobw1678 Meanwhile back in reality, the Russians were the 4th of those evil empires and only got to sit with the victors because the allies(the USSR was not part of this)grossly overestimated the threat posed by Germany. Had they been left to their own devices, it's possible the cold war never happens and most if not all of Eastern Europe would be liberated, rather than occupied by the reds for 46-50 years.

*"The USS Enterprise is the most revered and decorated ship of the second world war."* - Battle 360 Narrator
Though I do play Azur Lane, I've been a history nerd since 3rd grade and always loved reading about WWII, especially the Big E. I only hoped she wasn't scrapped after WWII, which always confused me. How is the most decorated ship scrapped, yet some Essex-class carriers aren't?
Well, Enterprise was scrapped bcus she was outdated after ww2, The US had the Essex class which was more modern and easier to refit for jet fighters
@@dutchthespitfire3204 Yeah, but why scrap the most decorated ship? Even the HMS Hood would have been persevered if she was not sunk in the Denmark strait.
@@Tankdestroyer467 Thats bcus the Brits were too proud of Hood and after ww2 the US needed a lot of steel
@@dutchthespitfire3204 Well, why not upgrade her then? Though her deck was short, many Essex class carriers who had similar lengths got upgraded and slanted runways that were longer. Seems counterintuitive. :\
@@Tankdestroyer467 Well, lets just say
You have a few new CV's which are cheap to refit and you have an old one which cost a lot to refit.. which one would you pick?

It's a real shame the Enterprise wasn't turned into a museum instead of being scrapped
If CV-6 Enterprise hadn't veen decommissioned, there wouldn't be a CVN-65 Enterprise, or a CVN-80 Enterprise that will be commissioned in a few years.
@@captainmidnight4262 It would have been a museum not an active duty ship so the navy could have still given the name to another ship

If you're interested in the Enterprise on the History Channel on TH-cam page there is all 10 episodes of battle 360 which is completely about the Enterprise in World War II probably one of the best shows the History Channel has done
I COULD WATCH THIS SHOW ALL DAY AND NIGHT 🧐👀👀👁👁
The fact they used the cv-65 enterprise instead of the cv-6 enterprise makes me mad
Great video.
Enterprise was my favorite carrier of ww2 and always will be she deserved a better fate
I love your channel
strange they are using the cvn65 enterprise insted of cv6 enterprise
Someone has not read history. Oh wait, people want to destroy history.
These videos are very well done. I enjoy them. Thx
I really hate to be the one to rain on a USS Enterprise parade, but the Enterprise shown in the video is CV-65 (Enterprise Class) and was built over ten years after WWII. Instead, it should be CV-6 (Yorktown Class), which served in WWII and is the ship discussed in this video.
CV-6 was built around 1937-1939 and was scrapped in the 50s, CV-65 was built in 1965
I don't understand why they used CVN-65, they have a model for CV-6 so why not use it.
also for the Yorktown and Lexington they showed Essex class Carriers not the real deal
The Big Japanese bodybuilder looking dude from the beginning of the video had me laughing. I had to replay it like 5 times. Lol
I remember watching the uss enterprise on the history channel.
I myself have the entire Battle 360 series on DVD.
Yeah I was just watching it the other day lol
Battle 360
The Yorktown‘s hull number was CV-5. Other American carriers were under construction when Yorktown (CV-5) sank, including CV-10, which had the name USS Bonhomme Richard. After USS Yorktown (CV-5) sank, the USS Bonhomme Richard (CV-10), still under construction, was renamed USS Yorktown (CV-10) in honor of the sunken carrier.
USS Yorktown (CV-10) was decommissioned in 1970, stricken from the Naval registry in 1973, and is currently a museum ship in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina.
This will save my hearts of iron 4 game
I love the bi tut were the pilots were freaking out about the mechanics removing their 50's
"I swear our carriers was just here hours ago!"
"Are you sure we're in the right coordinates?"
They can land into enemy ships, technically.
@@novemberecho3899 Idiot, those carriers were still stand for days
It was absolutely criminal that they scrapped the First big E (not the nuclear one but the one discussed in the video. Also could you guys do a video on the USS Laffey?
My dad's oldest living brother served on the CV-6 in WW2. His youngest brother served on the Sumner in Vietnam. The Laffey is maybe the last Sumner class destroyer still in existence and I was glad to have the opportunity to go aboard at the Patriot's Point Naval museum. The vulnerability of a destroyer and its sailors is made clear by its proximity to the Yorktown.

Why is USS Enterprise CV6 being represented by USS Enterprise CVN65 in World War II?
