Zoom H6 vs Tascam X8 | For Handpan Recording | with Rode NT5

I am amazed at your music. I've never heard handpan music before. Came to hear the recorder comparison but stayed for your incredibly beautiful music! Both recordings sounded great to me. It was a coin toss. So I would probably opt for the Tascam for its bigger screen and bluetooth functionality to access the mixer app on my iPhone.

Both are great, but I hear on my studio monitors that the Tascam has a slightly cleaner sound from the built-in mics.

I think the Tascam captured more dynamic range of sound, but both were excellent.

Would you be able to do the same sound test but keep the same music for each method? The music for the Tascam X8 internal mic is different than the Zoom H6 internal mic...

I've recently got a tascam x8, and I've been recording in piano mode and the volume sounds very low, and in guitar mode it sounds still a little muffled, so I'm wondering how you set the parameters?

Very nice record, easy to compare the caracter of each setup, well done and usefull. They both sound really good, the X8 has a fuller sound maybe just more balanced. H6 with the Rode NT5 has incredible detail in the highs (birds wow), I think a mix of the two units would be fantastic :)

The Tascam X8 sounds so much better. It picks up much more detail. I even think it sound really nice without the Rhode NT5. How did you position the built in microphone using it without the Rhode? In the crossed position or outwards?

I prefer NT5 because I do most of my recording in the field, not in the studio. If it breaks, it is not expensive and I can buy a new one.

Dobry produkt, posiadam Tascam dr100 mk3, x8 jest podobny, lepszy gdy chodzi o zapis glebi dzwieku, ktory bedzie obrabiany w programie audio.

Amazing review, that's very interesting. I'm very much in favour of the Tascam that for me have better preamps and dynamics. However this is just a question of details. I've tried to download the files to my iMac for better listening on my Logic Pro DAW but was not authorised to do this ? Thanks for your help.
