Picture this: Demise has almost come to an end and only two hermits are alive, so they play a match of boom box to decide the winner while the dead team watches
People can use totems of undying to play the game without risk (should talk to Xisuma about getting some totems...) Maybe you could make a few elevators in the maze to let people pop up into the upper level and return to their base - so depending on their play mode they can remove themselves from the game when "killed" or return to the starting point to "respawn" and get another totem
thought the same thing. but once that is over is should be a lot of fun. and truthfully it might take that amount of time to finish it anyway so might not be that big a deal in the end.
@@tetsujin_144 I think that would only be if there is somewhere with two-high water. You shouldn't be able to go into swim mode unless your head is in the water.
@@tetsujin_144 That might be a cool idea for one of the biomes in the corner - a trap door or a column of water so you can get into swim mode for a speed boost until you stand up.

It would be cool if all the quadrants have different combat mechanics as well, for example having soul sand or magma in the nether quadrant and ice in an ice quadrant, the tnt could again be ignited by levers on the bottom blocks. There could also be a totally underwater section, where you could use swim mechanics. Will add more ideas if I think of them :)
Underwater would be really fun! You could have places that you can swim through one block and you could power the top and bottom block to ignite tnt from anywhere
Hey Tango, both Stress and Grian sell god armor, if you'd like some for after demise is over. Also, I'm a new viewer, and I've really liked your videos so far!
Just a note that players can get through 1.5 block gaps in 1.14, crouching changes hit box size; part of the strong hold quadrant, when you were talking ‘see but not get to’, i wanted to make sure you knew
It's so fascinating to see the vast array of minigame designs all the hermits come up with. Just when you think you've seen everything, out comes another fantastic game!
When a few people die in demise, they should go play loads of minigames to taunt alive people. Then the alive people will willingly join the dead team!
24:04 - (the armor drop in Boom Box) What if there were some gear that was better, and some gear that was worse, but all of it had Curse of Binding? That way any time you get a piece of armor, you have to choose: do you go with the armor you got, or hold out for something better? (Because if you wear some crappy armor, you're stuck with it until it's destroyed) If you went with a system like that it might be better to give the armor more durability, but vary the enchantments.
I want to do the whole #shopatsahara but I don't want jam it down his throat like how we did Keralis. He should check it out soon, but when is the question.
One idea for the Boom Box, since swimming is now a thing, add sections where the tunnel is completely flooded. This will let players swim through the half flooded sections. You can even drop the ceiling in a few areas so the 1-block path is through the water.
You should use stained glass ceilings for each of the biome quadrants for added aesthetic effect. Also you could intentionally have water flowing in certain directions to push activated TNT as a sort of "ranged" weapon, but I don't really know how well that would work in practice. Honestly, I've never really played around with TNT to any great extent. Eitherway, it looks like a load of fun. Goodluck with Demise. Try not to blow yourself up lol.
13:20 - 2 diamonds per stack (of concrete) They're actually talking about maybe going to 3 or 4 diamonds per stack, given the amount of sand and gravel required, and the manual crafting step needed to produce it. So enjoy that 2D/stack while you can, I guess!
The Mending enchantment works like this: When you pickup XP the game checks for an item with mending on all your armor slots, second hand and the item you're holding. It will chose one regardless of how much durabillity the item has. If the item do not need repairing, it will give you XP to the XP bar, instead of chosing another item with mending. The best way to use Xisumas XP shop is to only hold the item you want to repair and nothing else.
Hey tango, love the return of boombox! But there is something you may have missed: when a player crouches, he is only 1.5 blocks tall, so you have to take that into account when designing the maze. Also because the whole game is in water a player could go into swim mode and only be 1 block tall. Just something to keep in mind while designing the maze. Can't wait to see everyone play it!!
You should use spectral arrows when someone captures the flag. It might make it interesting as both teams would go to them to and there would be a big fight
I think a blast furnace with iron ore or other type of ore in it would be even cooler then the smoker with the potatoes in my opinion. Seems to make more sense with the relationship between stone/ore and the cobblestone vault door.
Sooo... For the maze portion of boom box, what is to stop players (mumbo) from placing 2 tnt making a crude tnt cannon? The tnt could potentially fly above the water, and if timed right, explode above it destroying the arena...
Tango another idea for boombox is that you can put a hopper minecart collecting the items when people die and takes it to the middle for a better gameplay...
I used to watch tango all time but he started slowing down big time. I am so happy he is making videos again. I made a mobile gameing that I don't show my face or use my voice on because I don't want people to unsubscribe because I'm ugly and I sound weird on camera. But does anyone else agree its great to see tango back
Fire Protection and Blast Protection cancel each other out. Each specialty is worth '8 points' toward that specific damage, while the normal Protection is forth '4 points', so two Protections would do the same as one Fire and one Blast, but the two Protections would also give '8 points' to Projectile as well. I made a couple of videos demonstration this talking about Best Armor Enchantments (with and without taking wings into account).
Adam S but then you can’t just drop tnt on your enemy - you might not place it on a red stone block. Can’t kill your enemy without the red stone on the floor!
Idea: players can set the amount respawns everyone gets / length until respawning ends using the trapdoor going into the game closing after a certain time or after a certain pressure plate is pressed.
How I expect boombox to go (I know, I didn’t put everyone down): Grian: plays boom box like a champ saves team, dies in process. Constantly asks players on the other team to shop at Sahara Stress: puts snowmen in maze, uses frost walker boots Mumbo: Spoon. Iskal: laughs like a maniac, burns all diorite found. The chicken survived the hit and the fire and it has 2 hearts
I loved this game on season 3 and I'm so excited that you're remaking it! I do think that it's a bit unfair that the blue team spawns next to the OP totems of undying and armor, while the red team is left with potions and golden apples on their side. (Also you can sneak into 1.5 block spaces in 1.14 btw)
You can shift under half slabs. Putting slabs on the ground as well can make it a working wall while still allowing visibiity. Also implementing different "obstacles" in each biome would be cool: shifting under slabs in the end quadrant, magma blocks in the nether quadrant, one way passages in the mansion quadrant, and iron doors/trapdoors you can open or close in the stronghold quadrant?
A little idea worth exploring? One or two machines in some corner for which you need a speed boost key powerup to activate, that machine plonks your head with a trapdoor, making you able to swim in that 1 block high water for as long as you want/have breath, so you can zoom in and surprise attack people or rush to save your flag, or rush back to your base with the enemy flag, people can cut your swimming short by placing the tnt infront of you too so it wouldn't be too OP I think

If you’re going to buy a shulker box’s worth of concrete for 54 diamonds, you might just buy a Sahara now membership for 100 diamonds since they are soon going to be giving their members free concrete of any color
You could add blue ice and honey blocks when those come into the game as resistance floor types, so in a few random areas you can zip past really quick or get stuck in honey!
Can you imagine being that guy that prepared so well for demise; best enchants, totem, fire resist pots and even a bunker, then dying from randomly faceplanting on the wall or the floor.
You should also have a button that works when a certain power up is received. When you put it in, you push the button to a random dropper in the the ceiling that blows up one of the biomes.
This looks good, but one potential problem with the dispensers and the non redstone spots is that people could potentially place TNT on those, and in a large explosion chain with many blocks of TNT, that can create dry spots (especially on a large, multiplayer server) that can blow up your minigame. I would recommend putting the dispensers on the ceiling instead, and if you want a pattern on the floor in the middle (to make it look cool), you can put redstone torches underneath non redstone blocks, but maybe the pure redstone blocks look better. In any case, that is my recommendation to avoid catastrophe.
Great ideas Tango. Good to see you back. Would be cool to see a skeleton or something in the nether corner biome, maybe other mobs, make it tricky to get the rare stuff.
For the center: You have two exits on each of the four sides, eight total. Instead of blocking off one side completely with the trap, block one on each wall. That still leaves four exits, one in any direction, but you have to really pay attention to get out. It raises the risk to match the reward, I think.

For the center: You have two exits on each of the four sides, eight total. Instead of blocking off one side completely with the trap, block one on each wall. That still leaves four exits, one in any direction, but you have to really pay attention to get out. It raises the risk to match the reward, I think.
I remember back in highschool I was a mod on twitch for you and impulse and I actually got to play this game on one of the thursday night streams and it is one of my fondest minecraft memories. So glad its coming back after all this time
Tango your mods are the best mod I have ever played (it is lag free)
You should add splash potions of the turtle master
Good idea
You should have an ocean monument section as one of the structures! Have it completely underwater and only 1 block high. Include a bucket of pufferfish as one of the power-ups, or just have a pufferfish somewhere in the maze that you can pick up if you want to risk it.
This game sounds awesome! With every new feature you explained for it I found myself going that's such a great idea! Well done this game has been really thought through
