  • Today I will be unboxing and installing the updated EVbase Retractable Roller Roof Sunshade in my Tesla Model 3. The shade material is now a roller fabric versus paper in the original. The Model Y version is a one piece design vs two piece for my car.

Here is an advice: my wife and I felt claustrophobic inside the car with these shades, I end up with the Joawua also adding a black fabric on top so that's the way we 've driving it since more than year, I didn't even remove them in winter, Fk Glass roof is impossible to enjoy the view if you live in HOT climate, also check the cars been sold at HERTZ, these fake leather seat tend to MELT!! some cars show warped door plastics, dashboard, and some show some type of wavy lines "like melt ice cream" is crucial that if you live in hot weather and don't have a garage you must use the roof shades and full 3M Crystalline or ceramic tint go with 20% I went with 30% and I regret it, is too light.... the quality of the Tesla molded plastic is very poor, then add the extreme heat inside due to the glass roof, they know that that's why they offer the "cabin overheat protection" I didn't use it last summer because I didn't want to waste energy but this summer I will have to use it, but man is going to drain electricity like crazy our summer here is 4 months 95F to 105F....

Interesting, thanks for your comment. My car hasn’t had any issues with the interior plastic or seats at six years old. NC can get hot, but I do keep a car cover on it and park in a garage when I can.

@@MTNRanger I noticed that in some of the used Teslas for sale by Hertz, because I may buy one, most of those cars were 100% under the sun without any shade, for 1 or 2 years, I saw some with the wood and plastic bezel surround it warped, on the passenger door only, also some with warped dashboard, and MANY with those weird wavy lines on the seats, like if they were melting, but Im still looking to buy another one, $28K for a red one with 28K miles is hard to resist

Have you received a Highland yet? I checked and it currently is not verified to fit. They are looking into it.

do you think you could use both? that mesh one you complained about and this one? living in vegas i want to block as much of that damn sun as possible, because using a totally glass roof has to be the dumbest idea on a car ever.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Interesting, I never thought of that - like double protection. Yes I think it could work as long as you don't need to remove the mesh one.

i could care less about removing it. if it was reasonable, id have the whole roof glass replaced with metal.@@MTNRanger

just returned the same set that I purchased for my M3, I was desperate for this set as I live in South Texas, I ...NOPE these retractable shades made the M3 feel EXTREME SMALL AND CRAMPED INSIDE... IM 5' 10" did not fit in the back seat with the shade installed...... I already spent 1500!!! on 3m crystalline on all the windows, sunroof and windshield. I HATE THE GLASS ROOF!! ...RANGER Hope you don't delete this comment, this will be the 3rd time I upload it, if you do I will unsubscribe, because you have bee bought by the accessories companies

Wait until the side curtain airbags go off and send that frame bouncing in the cab

      I'll look into that.

the curtain airbags go down, and inflate outward and upward. i dont see it sending that frame all over the place. the frame seems high up above the airbags. however, this for sure is a concern.

What a stupid statement. Do you even own a Tesla? I do. There's plenty of us that HATE the glass roof. Want to be hotter while driving and use more power because you have the AC turned up higher? Want a sunburn on your head just from driving? Want a hotter car while it's just parked? Want everyone around to see the inside of your car more easily? I've wanted a retractable sunshade from day 1. I got clothes ones from Temai, but I can't roll the windows down because they blow off. So I have to remove them anytime I want to roll the windows down while driving.

@@andrewskaterrr as a matter of fact, I own two.
      1. Hate the car? Don’t buy it.
      2. Glass roofs indeed lead to a hotter cabin but it’s not more than a few degrees which is marginal compared to the ac and battery consumption needed to cool down
      3. I haven’t ever in my life rubbed my head against any of my car’s roofs to be afraid of burning my face. You’re really trying hard to nick pick reasons to support your silly claims.
      4. Park any car in the sun and you’ll pretty much get an unbearable cabin temperature regardless of a glass roof or not. A Tesla will certainly be warmer but nothing that opening the windows and cranking the ac wouldn’t fix in a couple of minutes.
      5. If you think people can see you from the outside of the car you clearly don’t understand how reflective principles work and you’re just an ignorant individual.
Doublecheck your facts before calling strangers stupid and Stop whining like a little brat.
