Morning Dave, #1 My condolences for the loss of your friend, #2 WOW ! What an amazing job you did on this one, watching you pull on the vinyl was simply riveting (pun intended), i was right there pulling with you. I have to agree with Rene, Buzz must wish he had it in his collection now that you did the impossible with it. Great start to my day thank's for sharing again, i'm off to continue the work on my Blaupunkt, cabinet and chassis cleaning all done, ready to tackle the electronics, wish me luck :-)
Hello Raymond, thanks, Trev was a good bloke. I admit I wasn't sure the vinyl would cover the corners at all but it worked very well, I was very happy with the end result. Good luck with your Blaupunkt 👍🙂
Such attention to detail, museum quality. How i love these old radios. Thank you, i do pick up a few tricks along the way from watching these uploads...imitation is the greatest compliment!
Geez Dave, what a bastard of a cabinet! Of course you did a great job on it and I trust that Buzz will do a good job on whatever abomination you've sent him. Looking forward to seeing that ! 😆 That adhesive vinyl is a product I haven't seen before. It could be very useful for a lot of things. Thanks for another great video!
Hi Don. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with cabinet. I considered just leaving it but thought I should give it a go, maybe I could paint it if I couldn't recover it. I think Buzz will have a good time working on the radio I sent 😀
Awesome resto mate, when I have recovered some my amps I find over lapping the vinyl then cut your line through both layers. A hard rubber roller can help to run out the covering on the larger surfaces. Good work David, last week I said the case looked like it was made from papier mache now it looks almost new. Once again good job mate.
Thank you Antony. Yes I agree, I wasn't too worried about a gap as it can't be seen but I should have trimmed the excess and then overlapped and trimmed to get a perfect join 👍🙂
Goodness me Dave! I watch all that you do but don’t understand the electronics at all. On the other hand your case work speaks directly to me and this one is a total gob smack. I’m in awe and very well entertained. Cheers from Tasmania
The work you did to restore the radio case was nothing short of amazing. There are very few people out there with the skill and the patience to accomplish the things that you do. This was a very satisfying video to watch and the end result proves the talent that you have.

Impressive re-covering it looks great. I like the Tipton-tip about spraying with lacquer and sanding smooth to aid adhesion. I did an old Dansette record player with new vinyl and it's starting to peel off - I'll try that method.
Well, all the superlatives have all been said, but I don’t care. I repeatedly backed up the video to study how you fixed that case. Amazing! It truly does look like new. You have my respect sir! Thanks Dan
David ! As Mister Radio says, "Welcome to another exciting, hair raising, fun filled, expeditious episode!" Well your video kept me on edge watching as you began the vinyl bend "sterreeetch" (!) successfully, not once, but EIGHT times! As you kept your cool applying those very fragile tiny press letters. From start to finish, this 3 part series reminds me of "Sergeant Peppers"; "A splendid time is guaranteed for all !" Great Job David! -Chris
