The cobra was designed around the 60s and the best technology of the day only allowed for a nose gun. The Apache has a 360 degree belly gun in contrast because it was designed afterwords and the flaw was fixed.
Does your clan use real 9 line procedures or 5 line procedures when playing? would love to fly and play a real milsim with you guys. remember pilot, visual friends tally target contact objects/terrain features. we can also discuss the proper close air procedures of an AH-1 including popup attacks and medium altitude attacks. you almost always want to be moving in the attack and rarely use a hover hold to shoot targets that can kill you.
Aaron Oldham 9 and 5 lines would be pretty awesome but I don’t think they go that in depth in these sims

The rule of thumb when using coms is to keep your communication short and simple. Too many of you are having long-winded conversations with the grunts on the ground.
try a real 9 line ;)
or break up the coms like you said and keep it short. That and the radio traffic at times got nonsense haha

Hey good video guys. I just had some questions cause I notice this with alot of Arma 3 Milsim units out there. Where you using the Viper as in terms of a ARB (Attack, Reconnaissance, Battalion)? I only ask because normal Viper tactics has the bird coming in at terrain masking 30 to 40 meters and poping up to about 150 -175 then coming down at a 30 degree angle of attack to use guns and rockets to maximize damage and the less possibility of blue on blue.
Masking by the terrain any helicopter whatever you are, i mean transport.. Gunship... Or attack chopper, u should fly very low.. In this case u already know that there no-one AAA over the battle zone and no-one AA manpads as well...
Drewski with TFR you can swtich channels with the numpad
so if you switched to channel 2 if you need to quick reply to ground team use channel 1

Like the kind of "roleplaying" you're doing, but tbh with the heli you're flying you could've easily destroyed everything yourself
michiel .vdh this is late but no he couldn't have destroyed them because he has limited bullets its not like normal fps where planes and helicopters have unlimited ammo he has to conserve ammo to not run out in his helicopter
@Boss Man, I think he meant he could have gone on the mission himself and aimed the chopper himself. Of course he couldn't have destroyed the city, that'd be breaking the Geneva Convention.

Needs more forces on the ground. It feels like these skirmishes are too easy, you could probably have cleaned up the entire force with the helicopter only. Switching the video from the helicopter to the ground forces would look very cool as well, I've seen you do it in other movies before.

Look it up on Steam, it has the game requirements listed there. It actually can be quite the forgiving game for older or slower systems as long as you don't load it up with CPU intensive mods (ALIVE mod for example).

How do you report the contacts in the text chat like you did in the video ? When you spot an enemy its location pops up in the chat "contact-infantry etc"
that goes automatically, normally. Your character does it when he has a radio equiped
GiellBig it never does for me, and what do mean by radio equipped ? I have it equipped in my inventory in the right slot and it still doesnt report anything in the chat, do i have to turn it on or something ?
@@tr3nta345 You in a group or playing solo? If you are in a group/squad you will see that. Unless you are using a mod like ACE which has an option to turn that off.
@@slayerjohn447 i sold my PC so i don't play anymore but i used to play in squads against AI in online servers.
Can you operate the main cannon as the pilot as you would being the gunner?
If I remember, you can take manual control of it, but you lack the ability to properly aim it like the gunner can. Pretty much firing the line of sight of the gun.

There's so many possibilities, which makes it unclear what you can really do.
If you straightup join any server on Arma 3, you'll most likely be playing Island Life (roleplaying) or Wasteland (sort of DayZ but with teams and without zombies). Personally, I also like to make cool scenarios in the editor to play myself. The thing with Arma 3 is that it really has little content. You either need to spend fuckloads of money to fulfill that gap, or install a bunch of mods.
Point is, the possibilities are endless. You can make *any* mission you want and decide to play it with or without friends. Or just download any mission you want.
(I'm assuming they play on a downloaded map, on their own server, with downloaded mods.)

It's too confusing. I wish it were easy to sort out and just play a bit more casually. I bought it, have mods, can barely figure out how to join a server and I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

Are you using a controller of some sort? If so, it's probably configured wrong. If not then make sure nothing else is keybound to the engine throttle outside of whatever you are wanting to use for it. Also, does this happen on just the modded helis or the base game ones too?

Yeah usually at briefing they're given what they can engage and what their priorities are. Sometimes you might be greenlit to take out any armor you see, but a priority might be to take out certain kinds of armor.

What would you say to someone new to the pc community and just getting arma 3? good idea? bad idea? whats your take?
Bad idea for getting a game like ArmA III. I suggest getting CS:GO or something if you're into shooters.
K1LLA SK1TTLEZ I just got my pc about a week ago I bought arma 3 and have had a ton of fun on altis life bc it doesn't take a lot of skill and gets you used to the game

How many squads are used in one operation? (Infantry only)
Depends on the operation and the size of the group playing. The game supports up to 110 groups per faction if I remember right (110 leaders, you can have as many men as you want under their command).
