- Private Arthur Dix (Martin Sheen) is interrogated by aliens called the Ebonites. The interrogator (John Anderson) controls Dix's sense, rendering him unable to speak.

A six-man strike force is captured on the planet Ebon and brutally interrogated. And when they are suddenly allowed the "respect due a conquered enemy," the prisoners to conclude that there is a traitor among them...someone who must be killed!!

The Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, and One Step Beyond used to scare me so bad I was terrified of the dark back then. We baby boomers had these wonderful, scary programs to watch but I almost think some of the episodes were way to terrifying for little kids. They came on in 1960, 1961, 1962 making me 11, 12, & 13 and believe me it had an effect on us.
This episode actually disturbed me when I was 8 years old. My parents were concerned but there was no way us kids weren't going to watch every episode of The Outer Limits.

This episode scared the shyte outa me when I was eight. The Ebonite's voices scared me so much and their hideous demonic appearance added to my fright. But I would never miss an episode though.
It's a shame that the series only lasted a season and a half.
This is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE EPISODE OF THE OUTER LIMITS. REALLY AND TRULY. I SAW THIS WHEN I WAS GROWING UP. IT IS AS FASCINATING NOW AS WHEN I VIEWED IT CIRCA 1963. GREAT STORY. CONVINCING CAST. I WANTED TO BE AN EBONITE!!!!
If I'm not mistaken, this actor is from the SHEEN family, father of the famous comedian Charlie SHEEN, (2 and a half Men), congratulations on the video, very rare...

This episode scared the crap out of me. I dont know which was scarier this part or the ending.

Sure is. John Anderson (as the Ebonite Interrogator) was a veteran character actor whose numerous credits included "Psycho". Ed Nelson (Luke) starred on ABC's "Peyton Place".

I think Leslie Stevens would have equalled Rod Serlings T.T.Z. if he started T.O.L. in the 1950's.This decade would have carried the show to at least 6 seasons.
Presumably these teasers mean full episodes are due soon? Or what?

Aliens with 5 o clock shadow
When I saw these aliens, I always thought of Batman with a voice changer. They have bat capes, and are cold, calculating......looking for weaknesses. Makes sense that Batman would have a voice changer and it would be much more scarier to the criminal element if he did. I think they used a ring modulator to do the voice changing.

"The Mice" is great. But how many times was all or part of that prosthetic costume used ? They recycled it for "The Guests", at least.

Yes, BY FAR better (although some of these episodes were occasionally intriguing with "Demon with a Glass Hand" being somewhat of a masterpiece.

It's funny cuz the 90s outer limits was MUCH better than the TZ remakes and even TOL original episodes.. THo it was very hit or miss.
TZ reboots were a huge L outside of a few episodes.
Different type of show , so was "One Step Beyond" and "Thriller" all these shows were great in their own way
These cheesy old sci-fi movies always had the aliens looking like something dug out of the ground, just like the cheesy new sci-fi movies. Won’t people be shocked to see the truth. 😊😊😊
