I would agree, but the truth is that killing someone is such a shitty revenge. You want to avenge someone and you shoot him in the head, how soft is that? For all you know you've done him a favor, not everybody gets quick death like that. That's why my favorite revenge scene is from Law Abiding Citizen. Now that's fucking revenge

In my opinion, Vito Corleone's revenge kill in "The Godfather Part II" should be on this list. Don Ciccio killed Vito's parents and brother when Vito was a little boy. Vito waited a long time for some revenge.

I generally don't care for Superhero movies. I think they can be much better, but Erik/Magneto's "move the coin" is one of the best arcs in any superhero movie and a glimpse of what they could be.
@@CH-sl5eq You're not the only one who I have heard say that before. First Class seems to be one of the exceptions to the rule for people who generally dislike super hero films.

The best revenge kill of all time was “Last House on the Left” the father putting the killers head in a microwave so that he could literally feel his head explode was so hardcore. And it was completely justified making it a great kill.

No matter what you think, Harmonica from 'Once upon a Time in The West' had the best revenge kill of all time ! Seriously, with so many spaghetti western and Asian revenge movies out there, it's like you deliberately went with the ones that you thought were more popular. No mention of Memento, Old Boy, Enter the Dragon, V for Vendetta, Die Hard or even Mad Max 1.

You missed Liam Neeson's; Bryan Mills killing Marco from Tropoja in Taken. He told him, and us, what he was going to do.
In the unrated version, he tortures that Serbian POS. But also, I enjoyed the way he emptied his gun on that French POS too, the one that sold girls to sex slavery.
One of the most highly regarded films ever made "The Godfather Part 2" isn't mentioned... Vito Corleone returns to the village in Sicily that inspired his name to finish off the man who murdered his father, brother, and mother.

Michael killsed McCluskey because he protects Sollozzo (And for hitting him)
Sonny killed Bruno Tataglia for his father's assasination attempt
Other families killed Sonny and Apollonia for Sollozo and Bruno's dead
And Michael killed heads of other families and Carlo for Sonny and Apollonia's dead
It deserves honorable mention, but the Don in Italy is super old at that point. He lived a great life. Vito stabbing him in the gut had to hurt, but how much longer was the guy going to live anyway.
Why wasn't Carrie White's murder of an entire high school in Carrie on the list.

Once Upon a Time in the West. Frank's death by the mysterious gunslinger that everyone only called Harmonica was absolutely poetic. Frank had only one talent: killing for hire, which he also took ultimate pleasure from. When he tried to do otherwise, and live as a business man, he could only then wait to die, as he had stopped moving, and his past caught up to him.
Seriously? Not even an honorable mention for Conan killing Thulsa Doom in one of the greatest revenge scenes ever?! (in the original Conan the Barbarian 1982)

I know what you mean, but that wasn't really that great of a revenge kill. Hector knew he was going to lose and was not seen as the villain. Even in the original story, Achilles chases Hector around Troy in circles as the gods watch. Not very satisfying.

He kills him in front of his father, his wife and his son and of all of the people of Troy. Since this is about *movie* revenges, the Iliad doesn't apply, but Achilles doesn't chase Hector around Troy, he drags his dead body after his chariot in order to mutilate and humiliate it .
I'd say that's a revenge-job pretty thoroughly done. The fact that Hector wasn't a villain only makes it more epic. It's not a real tragedy if only villains die.
There are two movies that you missed: SinCity: The City of Sins and John Wick.

Conan killing Thulsa Doom should have made it on here. No villain ever did more to the hero. First he kills his parents decapitating his mother right in front of him. He kills his entire village. Then he sells him into slavery where he is eventually forced to fight in brutal gladiator contests. Then he captures him later on and tortures him all culminating with him being crucified to the point of near death. Finally he kills Conans wife. This has gotta be in top 5 revenge kills.
Um... dude, Conan never marries Valeria... they have some drunken sex, that's it. I think the reason it didn't make the list is that the way the revenge scene is done is strangely anticlimactic. If they do a second top 10 on the subject, its bound to make it there.

If you're going to do anything from the "Kill Bill" movies, you should've picked O-Ren Ishii's revenge kill. Becoming a child assassin to get revenge on the mob boss that murdered your parents, then using that boss' love for pedophilia to murder him is genius. And it was uniquely and brilliantly shot, imo.

Could have been more descriptive in how Inigo Montoya defeats Count Rugen. Inigo stabs Rugen in the same locations he was stabbed himself, then slices his cheeks, just like he was sliced when his father was killed. Totally takes the number 1 slot, for me.

Now you're talking. The range of plots and characters throughout the movie and the revelation of the mysterious Harmonica's motivation has a lot of resonance because it wasn't overtly built up to throughout the film.

I love Korean flicks. They are so overlooked! The ending was so sad though.
If you guys like Oldboy definitely worth checking out Chingu, which translates to 'Friend' in English. It's a legendary movie in Korea that put their cinema industry on the map and to this day holds all the box office records there. It's about a close group of 4 friends that grow up together in the early days of South Korea before it became an economic superpower. You just have to see it though, the ending is one of the saddest things you'll ever see and it's probably the reason why so many Korean films center around revenge

Simplify wasn't revenge. He had years to kill the old bastard. He stuck with him since he already fucked his life over for power, or at least the promise of it. He killed him to save his son. Even then he almost didn't give a shit. But old pally had too much fun slowly torturing Luke to death.

Law Abiding Citizen is one of my favorites. The method is so methodical and diabolical while also being absolutely horrifying nightmare fuel. The cherry on top is that you can't help but feel that it's rightfully deserved.

No that's not really revenge. And that's not really what happened either. He killed him because he realized he was wrong. But he was basically trying to kill him. But even that's not true both Vader and Palpatine were trying to turn him.

Yes which was right at the very end of their conflict when Luke was first fighting Vader the Emperor didn't want Luke to be killed but wanted to have him join. Which is stupid. Luke was mad because Vader killed Obi Wan and because he found out he is his son and actually for a short period thought his dad was someone good. Also because Vader consistently fucked with his friends and therefore also hated palpatine. For the two being so evil they spend a lot of time trying to recruit others.
That was basically a rescue.
The original Mad Max had the best revenge kill ever, cut your own foot off with a hacksaw or burn to death from the leaking fuel.
