Thanks for sharing this. I had this plant when I first started on orchids. It was nice. I was just out in SD hanging w my friend Jess and everyone thought it was you. You in California.

Haha, next time you’re in CA maybe we can meet up and then it really would be me 🤣

Beautiful orchid and blooms. That main fan is so large 🪴. I also got a few markings on mine and lost the odd leaf from it being outdoors but I think it gives them character 😎.

Growing outdoors, I find more orchids end up with some markings. Not all orchids can look perfect all the time and I am ok with seeing the history of the the plant on the leaves. Good reminders of what I did and what not to do 😁

Thanks for sharing Jess. We sometimes get distracted and they are so easy to get burnt. She is looking very happy now. I like the way new fans help to make the plant bushier ❤️💖

Thanks! It’s always a fine balance between getting enough light and too much. I like to push them but sometimes they don’t like it 🤣

Looking nice! I just need to bloom them. So you do keep it outside. Very nice. As far as Neo… I was encouraged by a Japanese nursery owner to keep it outside all year around in my climate… 😳 supposedly Neos can withstand and do fine down to 30-29 F… wow…
That’s way lower than I thought! Thank you for sharing!

Haha yea! Those Neos are pretty tough and they can handle a lot! As long as they get used to gradual changes in temps, they’re fine. These days we are getting more extreme swings in temps so it’s a little rougher on some of my plants 🤣

I sunburned two of my cattleya seedlings recently and you are absolutely right…mistakes happen and we learn and adjust. The seedlings are recuperating and bouncing back fairly well. I also recently got my first Neostylis vanda type orchid from SVO. Thanks for sharing your experience. I feel more confident in caring for mine.
