Florence + The Machine is the soundtrack of my womanhood. Every song is tied to a point and situation of growth, change, and a new self discovery. From Lungs until now she’s just so amazing! It’s incredible how music, though not always in the forefront, is part of our lived experiences.
@@aynosekeponer I’m a medical assistant in urgent care, and I’ve been working through the pandemic this entire time. Sometimes blasting music and singing at the top of your lungs is the only thing that keeps you from ripping your hair out and screaming.😂
I’ve seen her live twice and both times received a hug as she ran into the crowd. She is amazing and you’ll love her live. I hope you see her one day and enjoy every moment of it.
One of the most engaging and incredible live performers out there. She puts it all out of the stage and in the audience every performance. She grabbed my face and sung what kind of man to me in Brooklyn and it was the most awesome experience ever.
I love these dancers. They are like the manifestation of the internal storm that Florence sings about. She's alone until her own chaotic energy joins her, and then she's swept away by it. It's so moving. I feel the exact same way.
The dancers are insane and I am loving how they have been incorporated visually into each masterpiece so far…flo’s wraiths, imagery and interpretation of art to each individual is unique….I love her. 🤍🕊🦋❤️💟👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This makes a lot of sense. If you’re accustomed to chaos, stillness and normality can be terrifying. The world goes still, and the person here literally can’t function without the chaotic energy.
Love how it starts and ends looking like Florence's having a panic attack and then transists to intense music and lyrics. Yet while she's singing she looks like she's kind of numb. Perfectly describes the whole quarantine feeling. Too many emotions yet no way to actually feel them
I agree!! Definitely favorite song as well. And of course it's remix potential to hear it played in a club etc !!! The visuals if it all ..I really want to understand what the overall meaning and story is for the album Like in this video referencing "The birth of Venus" by Botticelli (sp)
@Plugged Beats I get you're excited about your beats, but please stop spamming them on someone else's channel. Not that cool, regardless of how popular the channel may be.
The slow change of her outfit, King and Heaven is Here being so spooky and avant garde, then coming in with a jam like this and high class that just devolves?? How can someone be so constantly fascinating??
Since Lungs, Florence has always dropped albums when I needed their inspiration the most. This upcoming album is no exception to that. The last four years have taken a tremendous toll on me mentally, physically, and spiritually and I think my soul needs the music more than ever. ❤️

Wow, I love the references to Ceremonials as well as the sound of her first breakthrough, You've Got The Love. What an incredible range on the new album, just in the first three songs.
This is my interpretation to the concept of the video: She has said in interviews that this song is about her experience with the break of the pandemia and how the world was affected by it. She was no longer able to perform on stage, and faced her first writer's block in a really long time. Music has always been an outlet for her and now, along with being isolated from her loved ones, she had no way to release from all those feelings. So in the video she portrays a singer/crooner who desperatelly tries to keep her act together in front of an audience that is, despite all of her efforts, stunned by their own fear and angsty. It's a deep and thoughtful way to translate how we all have experienced those events, from both perspectives (the artist and the audience). Seeing it like this helped me understand better Autum's direction. At first glance I felt it lacked inspiration and the scenes were a bit lifeless, but in the end it makes sense with the story they were telling.
I love this song. I don't know why but this more upbeat music with Florence's powerful voice always gives me energy and courage. Something that really helps me with my mental struggles. It helps me stand up for myself even though I am scared and it helps me too let my pain out without being overwhelmed. Thank you Florence and the machine.
This song made me realize I did love someone two years after it ended. 'When it came, it was stranger than I could imagine. No cracking open of heaven, but quiet and still.' :(
the vocalizations in the beginning sound straight out of "over the love" omg. ceremonials is genuinely one of my favorite albums of all time, so i'm living for this. this plus the last two killer singles...i cannot wait for this album to drop. 😍
I love all this new music so much, I was a child hearing her on the radio and now I’m older and she’s making the most incredible art that I can better appreciate, love it, love her
Seeing this video really changed the song up for me. I just went through a pretty rough depression/anxiety/addiction phase to the point my friends had to distance themselves for me. The song and the visuals just hit me so hard with everyone there but unresponsive, just like seeing my friends' lives on IG but never truly being able to talk to them. Never a place to put my love them. Thankfully we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I have brunch with all of my friends in a couple days :)
@@royedwards51 for "My Love", at least, the principal theme is the impact of covid in life. We see people with no action, still musicians, open mouth people representing intubation- many of them did not survive. "My friends are getting ill": the lyrics are about the lack of "inspiration" to work in art while the world is collapsing, specially, for her, the art, escenical art world are paralyzed. she is alone, with her dancers falling one by one, struggling. She finally survived, as we can see in the heavy breathing end .

Where I am,is a hard place in life right now,all my strength is gone. So for this new music I can say is THANK YOU! The artistry, the raw emotion, the power...just what I needed.
Apart from everything else being perfect, can we also just appreciate the semiology behind the dress she's wearing? In the beginning the tulle is in full volume, in 2:33 it's more stripped back and in the end it's only one layer and the gold is almost all gone.
i think her hair is also tied to this symbol of time passing/change/unraveling. as it's neat and looks like long bob/shorter, and then comes out and is looks much longer at the end of the video.
As a visual artist. This brings tears to my eyes. It's nice to know that even the greatest can experience the frustration of one's passion. Florence, somedays I feel like you saved my life
I eagerly await this album, with such a feeling of joy knowing this will be in my collection soon, blaring from car speakers and something to play for years to come in my home. Such a beautiful, poignant, deeply aching and vibrational album this far. Full of the iconic power that Florence always brings.
I LOVE that she wrote a song about Writer's Block and her writing coming out to create something strange when the Writer's Block was finally over!! 🙌🏾 💖
“My Love” is the third single from Florence + the Machine’s fifth studio album, Dance Fever. According to a press release, “My Love” was originally written and recorded as an acoustic track described by Florence as a “sad little poem,” that recounts Welch experiencing writer’s block and having a hard time adjusting to a world shifted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The song was later transformed by producer Dave Bayley into the energetic track that it is. Announced on March 9, only a day prior to its debut, “My Love” was released just three days after “Heaven Is Here,” the album’s previous single, accompanied by its music video and Dance Fever’s pre-sale. The song simultaneously premiered on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast with Greg James.
Florence and The Machine: "Sometimes the biggest dance songs, I think, have a really sad core to them." "I wrote it I think in one of the first lockdowns, one of the really long ones. The poem I wrote was like ‘tell me where to put my love’, tell me where to put this feeling that I’ve had my whole life and if the stage and performance doesn’t come back I don’t know what I will do with this feeling, this sadness, the alchemy of dance music is turned into something so euphoric, and the release was exactly what I needed. I remember the first demo we had going home and dancing to it alone in my kitchen, it just gave me a moment of release. It’s been a really nice bridge between a lot of old work, because I felt like a part of myself I actually hadn’t touched on maybe since Ceremonials, so it’s been really nice to then go back and look at older work and bring those back into the set. That song has been just an amazing bridge throughout all the songs in the last 11 years."
@@juyla100 Thanks for sharing that interview. I've not heard that one. Love the image of Florence dancing to this song alone in her kitchen. I feel I could listen to her talk all day. She always seems so genuine while waxing existential or delving into the far corners of her very unique mind. It never seems pretentious or condescending to me.
Seeing her in Herodion Theater Athens, at a time when we were unaware of the change that will come to us all in a few months, was a life changing experience. I feel her music and presence touches us to our most deep and primal levels. This song made me cry once more, moved me so much, because we all felt that stillness she is singing about.
A legend without compare, what a privilege to be on this planet at the same time, to watch these videos and hear these songs and read these poems as they release and not within historical archives
To me, this is Florence at her strongest form. The song starts off with her longest note to date. The beat builds up, and the rest is an spectacle. This song looks to her past, and future. If this was the last song she ever created, she would have went out at the summit. (I hope she never stops making new music, this song is just so powerful)
As always no disappointment. Magnificent vocals. Catchy beat with poetic words. And a very artistic music video on top. So excited for the album! It's fascinating to watch all the releases, interpret things as if seeing a story unfold.
Unfortunately I doubt Florence will reach high positions on the UK chart. She´s 35+. Just look at the current Top 100. It´s pitiful. The vast majority of the acts are very young, Many big singers and bands from the 00´s can´t even score a Top 100 entry anymore.
She has that rare gift. The secret is emotional expression. She sings with love in her voice. As I always say sing like it's your daughter's birthday or don't bother. Florence knows the secret in the sauce.
She is brilliant because even in moments of isolation and loss of inspiration, she still manages to find a way to put it into words and give us this gorgeous, haunting, majestic music.
LOVE this. She's singing about her struggling with writer's block (an issue LOTS of artists, known and unknown, deal or have dealt with). I also notice she's referring how the world (and hers, in a way) changed when the COVID-19 pandemic hit: 1. "All my friends are getting ill"-a likely reference to folks closest to her contracting the virus. 2 "My arms/skies/billboards/buildings emptied"-probably referring to her not being able to hug/touch anyone due to social distancing; airports shut down; artists/performers/entertainers not being able to perform on stage (hence her singing to a room of lifelike but inanimate mannequins. The mannequins standing in the back look more somber and...expired. Could they represent the folks who lost their lives to the virus or other personal struggles as the pandemic serving as the catalyst...?); buildings not in use or even closed due to folks working remote (or even lost their jobs) as a result of the pandemic. This may also just be my overthinking the video: but I also think the room she is singing in refers to her being "stuck in the house" (it's the only setting in the video). Because she is in a place where she can't necessarily "move", all of the vices she struggled with (alcohol and/or drugs, loneliness, perhaps depression, uncertainties, etc) seem to be also conflicting with her "love", which could be a reference to her passion for music/art/poetry, and perhaps even her determination to stay sober. I do believe the women dancing around her in the video could represent two things: 1. Personal conflicts and struggles she was constantly juggling during the pandemic to the point that it drove her a bit "insane" (cabin fever, or possibly making her a bit out of touch with interacting with folks. The temptation to relapse may have also been more difficult for her to manage during lockdown). 2. Her ideas that she couldn't seem to organize in her head (either music lyrics, or other creative ideas). I honestly do believe writer's block just isn't "not writing anything". You could have a plethora of things written down, but you just can't seem to organize them or have them make sense. It's completely understandable and relatable (another reason why I think folks are beguiled by her-including myself.) I also noticed the way she's breathing during the video. At the beginning, it's pretty labored (possibly because she's anxious, frustrated or upset about something); at the end, her breathing is a bit more steady and calm-like she found her "center" of some sort, or perhaps even an idea has occurred to her (the lamps in the background in the dark ("empty pages"-ayyyyyyy 😉) could possibly represent ideas/song lyrics coming to her. Maybe it was this song. 😊). The fact that she wrote a song about struggling with writers' block WHILE struggling with writers' block goes to show me how much she has honed her craft. She's simply magnificent.
And don't forget the hair. Starts perfect and changes to something raw and wild. Gives me a sense of discover and back to basics. Society puts pressure and set what love should be, sometimes we need to break the rules
the heavy breath at the end, all the people immovilized with open mouths, are covid references. All friends gone, mouths open trying to survive the intubation. At the end, everyone is gone, her dancers fading away. She lives, heavily breathing, blackened out and giving out this song.
@@aynosekeponer Isn't it interesting how the most tragic or disheartening occurrences can be an influence to such an awesome record? I can't seem to find the exact word to describe how much I eerily enjoyed watching this tragically intriguing video and pulling it apart. Despite the glitz and glamor of the video (which I believe, in itself, is portrayed as "artificial". Behind all the fancy clothes and being done up, EVERYONE is a mannequin (something else is layered there I think, hehehe...probably in regards to EVERYONE having to be on lockdown, despite their social status...🤔🧐)), there is an absolute heaviness and darkness to it. Despite the upbeat tempo of the record, the lyrics are frustrating and sorrowful. Even with Florence saying she "hopes" the trees get leaves soon, she could possibly be referring to her clearing her writers' block or even the hopes of being able to witness a change in the weather (lockdown-March 13th from my own experience-occurred 1 week JUST before Spring Solstice (March 21). This lyric could possibly have also been a tongue-in-cheek retort as she is probably irate at the fact of being in lockdown and not being able to "see the daylight" or watch the weather change-another thing LOTS of folks can relate to, imho). In the midst of tragedy, grief, personal struggles, any sort of ordeal...I do believe Ms. Welch is advising us to dance...wherever the hell we may be at 😊 This could very well be the "Shake It Out" of 2022, imho.

3:12 that exclamation sounds so much like Lungs and Ceremonials. So glad she's going back towards the bombastic sounds again. HBHBHB was the best combination between bombastic and intimate she's had while High As Hope was too consistently soft for my tastes. It was pretty but there was none of the explosive high energy songs like Drumming Song, Spectrum, or Queen of Peace. June was probably the closest that album got but it was more atmospheric than bombastic. Glad she seems to be going back towards that HBHBHB balance!
Florence is definitely pure art! It's incredible how she combined an art deco aesthetic and scenography with the mystical, metaphorical lyrics and choreography. She's simply the best artist ever!

Wasn't a massive fan of King, but this sounds great. Thanks for asking 👍
Florence is magical. This woman is pure talent like no one else.
Florence + The Machine is the soundtrack of my womanhood. Every song is tied to a point and situation of growth, change, and a new self discovery. From Lungs until now she’s just so amazing! It’s incredible how music, though not always in the forefront, is part of our lived experiences.
cant believe this song is also soundtrack and testament for all survivors of covid.
@@aynosekeponer I’m a medical assistant in urgent care, and I’ve been working through the pandemic this entire time. Sometimes blasting music and singing at the top of your lungs is the only thing that keeps you from ripping your hair out and screaming.😂

I swear, if I ever meet her, I'll just break down in tears. I love this woman, this artist. I need to see her perform!!
I think usually it’s her who’s shy haha, when she’s not on the stage she’s just super shy and introverted
She’s powerful live! See her if you can!

She’s a real singer and artist that’s why.

Right? She doesn’t have bad songs for me, just songs I’m less connected to
One of the most engaging and incredible live performers out there. She puts it all out of the stage and in the audience every performance. She grabbed my face and sung what kind of man to me in Brooklyn and it was the most awesome experience ever.
Maybe I’ve seen it on TH-cam lol iconic
I love these dancers. They are like the manifestation of the internal storm that Florence sings about. She's alone until her own chaotic energy joins her, and then she's swept away by it. It's so moving. I feel the exact same way.
The dancers are insane and I am loving how they have been incorporated visually into each masterpiece so far…flo’s wraiths, imagery and interpretation of art to each individual is unique….I love her. 🤍🕊🦋❤️💟👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Gemini moon type beat 🌙
The dancers need more love and respect. So I'm happy to see that here. They're too often overlooked.
We are all going to give up to them. I swear. When I watched them crawl I just smiled. Amazing.
Too many emotions yet no way to actually feel them
Words can’t express how much I love this woman, each album is like a piece of art. I think this is my fave song so far.
Oh yess, I feel you!!
I agree 1,000%. This is my FAVORITE track off the album so far. It's already added to my playlist hahaha
I agree!! Definitely favorite song as well. And of course it's remix potential to hear it played in a club etc !!! The visuals if it all ..I really want to understand what the overall meaning and story is for the album

The power behind her songs, it hasn’t waned in the slightest, I’m still getting goosebumps, I couldn’t be more excited for this album!
@Plugged Beats I get you're excited about your beats, but please stop spamming them on someone else's channel. Not that cool, regardless of how popular the channel may be.
this one reminds me a lot of lungs but renewed if that makes since?
live, her fans must go crazy at the start of this song. truly love Ms. Welch, this song. she's starting to hit her stride.
The slow change of her outfit, King and Heaven is Here being so spooky and avant garde, then coming in with a jam like this and high class that just devolves?? How can someone be so constantly fascinating??
There's literally no way somebody couldn't love Florence, I'm convinced. She's a ✨goddess✨
Since Lungs, Florence has always dropped albums when I needed their inspiration the most. This upcoming album is no exception to that. The last four years have taken a tremendous toll on me mentally, physically, and spiritually and I think my soul needs the music more than ever. ❤️

I don't know why but whenever I hear a Florence song I can't seem to breathe until the song is over.
Breathtakingly beautiful, overwhelming emotions that hit you on the first note with some healing factors mixed in.
Beautiful.
Thank you Florence for a wonderful experience.
This is a clear reminiscence to the Ceremonials era, she’s referencing her past and incorporating it into her new work, showing that she’s still the same artist, evolving and I love it so much
The way her breathing alone can add so much context. Stunning as usual and I am just feeling so lucky to be one of the first people to experience her new music.
If I never hear her and Hozier collab I will die a lonely, soulless husk of a human. Her and AURORA, too.

This is my interpretation to the concept of the video:
She has said in interviews that this song is about her experience with the break of the pandemia and how the world was affected by it.
Pinpointed
Florence + The Machine also deserves an Oscar because of these ultra-splendid visuals & sounds. 💓🔥✨

I absolutely cannot wait for further videos to see where the symbolism goes
Me too 😄
This one at least is about consequences of covid
How much more do you need? We are gonna be witches.
What symbolism?
@@royedwards51 for "My Love", at least, the principal theme is the impact of covid in life. We see people with no action, still musicians, open mouth people representing intubation- many of them did not survive. "My friends are getting ill": the lyrics are about the lack of "inspiration" to work in art while the world is collapsing, specially, for her, the art, escenical art world are paralyzed. she is alone, with her dancers falling one by one, struggling. She finally survived, as we can see in the heavy breathing end .

Apart from everything else being perfect, can we also just appreciate the semiology behind the dress she's wearing? In the beginning the tulle is in full volume, in 2:33 it's more stripped back and in the end it's only one layer and the gold is almost all gone.

Florence and The Machine:
"Sometimes the biggest dance songs, I think, have a really sad core to them."
"I wrote it I think in one of the first lockdowns, one of the really long ones.
Listening to the acoustic version after hearing this one first is a weird experience though. Seems like this should be “original”.
It's like I'm rediscovering myself through Florence's new music 💫💫💫

She is brilliant because even in moments of isolation and loss of inspiration, she still manages to find a way to put it into words and give us this gorgeous, haunting, majestic music.
THE CEREMONIALS VIBE IS KILLING ME LETS GO QUEEN
yes!!
LOVE this. She's singing about her struggling with writer's block (an issue LOTS of artists, known and unknown, deal or have dealt with).
I also notice she's referring how the world (and hers, in a way) changed when the COVID-19 pandemic hit:
I do believe the women dancing around her in the video could represent two things:
It's completely understandable and relatable (another reason why I think folks are beguiled by her-including myself.)
I also noticed the way she's breathing during the video.
She's simply magnificent.
grear analysis
And don't forget the hair. Starts perfect and changes to something raw and wild. Gives me a sense of discover and back to basics.
Society puts pressure and set what love should be, sometimes we need to break the rules
the heavy breath at the end, all the people immovilized with open mouths, are covid references. All friends gone, mouths open trying to survive the intubation. At the end, everyone is gone, her dancers fading away. She lives, heavily breathing, blackened out and giving out this song.
@@kixmix2450 thanks 😄
Welch is advising us to dance...wherever the hell we may be at 😊
This could very well be the "Shake It Out" of 2022, imho.

Love this song. She is such a talent. Phenomenal voice, Literally streets ahead of the rest
This feels so much like spectrum or most of the stuff of ceremonials but more refined. It feels almost panicked but gorgeous and confident

She's simply the best artist ever!
this feels like it could fit right into high as hope! I adored that album and love how smoothly she transitions from each album to the next! Beautiful journey
I can’t wait to hear an acoustic or live version pf this. I would love to hear a more melancholic version of this song!!
