1 weeks with graphics assets without any artistic direction, leveldesign, gamedesign, gameplay, ui, npc, dynamic music, sound effect, voice,... It's cool, dude trained doing that, he learnt many thing. But nothing impressive. Praise him for being passionated, not for skills, because he's an amateur/student doing amateur/student stuff.
its unreal engine. You just put together free assets, animations, textures etc. Even the systems and mechanics can be purchased or downloaded for free in the UE Market. Its really not more than throwing everything together.
No matter how scuffed, it still is nice as an immersive map.
For one guy and one week, this is incredible.
Give this guy a job immediately. He can get a play test ready version of anything you can imagine up and running in two weeks.
Infinitely valuable.
Riot already has people with these skill working on the game. It does take time to make such a huge game.

This was made in a week, and the sheer scale of it and accuracy of some of the places is amazing. I get that this is just meant to be a dumb video and whatnot, but Necrit legitimately didn't give this enough credit for how actually awesome this is. Spending the whole time joking around and making fun of things... I don't think Necrit realizes how insane this really is.
I think Necrit was mostly joking. Like he did act like this was the real MMO made by Riot at times lmao
its impressive, but tbh any half decent 3D artists that even vaguely familiar with Unreal 5 would be able to do this in a similar timespan

Yeah, I feel like he poked a bit too much fun at the project even if it was done as a joke for entertainment value. The joke about the library of Nasus being filled with weed got me and gets a pass, but the rest of it was too much, especially pointing out all the broken collision and lack of people. The best parts of the video were Necrit just being a tour guide and pointing out key structures and features on the map and how they related to nearby locations.
Anboni’s projects are crazy. This large scale (but not as large as the real thing ofc) shows his progress in game design after all the other projects! Had no idea he made this, I gotta check out his work again :)

I loved that event where Atreus flew to every region and rated each one, really gave character to him 🎉.

I feel like Necrit is insanely critical for something made in a week by one guy. I know its probably mostly a joke but it just feels like he's making fun of what is actually pretty impressive.

It would be cool if in the actual mmo you could see the Immortal Bastion from different zones. Like how you can see Icecrown Citadel from different zones in Wrath of the Lich King. Just to give a sense of scale to the thing.
Tbf we don't even know if the riot MMO will be 3rd person, top-down, or anything else yet. But I imagine if the scale is as big as it should be it would be nigh impossible to see the immortal bastion unless you were somewhere in the general area of noxus or you were up in a mountain on the same continent.
Though there might be some touches like potentially seeing it from the coasts of Ionia - but who knows.

@@biowbe4522 Yes I would say we have an 80% chance it's 3rd person. On the careers page they were looking for people with action combat experience. Also Riot said they aren't aiming for niche. Top down MMOs are usually very niche. So no I don't think it will be top down.
I'm really impressed of Necrit literally naming every single little village that some champs second cousin passed by on a trip and I'm impressed that the dude that made the game made it in one week but still added many lesser known lore places in there. I'm sure the real mmo will totally miss out some of those lore details.

@@itsgonnabeokay9341 It's just because the devs might forget, it's more because for example if you add every village mentioned in lore they will end up really close to one another and there will be nothing to do in them. They can just add 1-2 quests but that will mean doing 2 quests and running to the next village. Not a great game design.

You know Necrit I wouldn't be surprised if Riot hired you to be part of the Lore team to help keep everything accurate/consistent.
They would be doing themselves a disfavor if they don't it, legit we need people who are really invested on the lore on the storytelling team otherwise we would have Ruination 2.0 ☠️

Actually, you had enemies, items, gameplay, quests, storylines and it's almost good
I don't think Piltover will be the most popular regions considering that Ionia exists, there are furries, samourai, ninja, blademaster, spirits, everyone will go there, while I'll probably be kinda solo in the desert.
In truth, everything other than Noxus and Demacia will be saved for expansions because having Runeterra all at once would make for an empty world devoid of content

5:43 The only thing that bothers me about Piltover and Zaun is that Zaun has smog, but only when you enter its bounds. Adding smog visible from the outside would be really easy 🤔.
Edit 17:08: He even shows that he knows how to do it. It's the same thing as this water texture, but for smog instead.

Failing that, if Icathia is an option, being some time wizard under Zilean would be bonkers

This is awesome! Even though its extremely scuffed, it's incredibly cool to be able to fly over a map of Runeterra and see most of the major land marks and get some sense of the world!

Can we appreciate the fact that Necrit was given an open world map of medium detail and he still tour guided the whole thing and knew exactly where things were supposed to be? Also for one week, this is pretty darn cool. Well done to the creator.

this is actually pretty hype, just helps putting into perspective the variety of the world
Who needs the actual MMO when we can have a constipated Pantheon (who accidentally shaved off too much beard while getting ready) flying through a small and basic diorama version of Runeterra where
- Piltover and Zaun were built in Simcity
- Noxus became the city from Rain Code
- all of Freljord is within eyes view if you go onto a mountain
- Demacias "Grand Plaza" looks like it could barely fit a market on the weekend
- Mount Targon is a horror game that tries to eat your soul
- Shurimas Sun Disk having a questionable meta physical state (also Nasus became a weed farmer)
- Icathia looks like its overgrown by a giant metalic purple thornbush
- someone stole Ixtals flying crystals
- Yorick made the whole Shadow Isles into a graveyard and then went on a well deserved vaccation
- Bilgerats took Bilgewater Bay and shoved it somewhere else (after Pyke took a lot of names from his list)
- and a lot of Ionia decided to stop physically exsisting for no reason but to annoy more people who already hate Ionia (which is mostly LoR players because anything from Ionia is not fun to play against...except Shen...Shen is cool with everyone)
The guy saved 10 years of development for RIOT 🙏

To be fair, i think it would be kinda boring if his explantions would be "here should be this, there should be that," because the land is barren. Like Brand's village is just, land.
He did explain the geography, half of the video was him saying "X would be here", "This represents Y" lol.
Fr I think he forgot about the “scuffed” part and the fact he still complains of not having other champs, sound and the interior should be bigger is just kinda hard to watch 😫 like the lack of a appreciation for a 1 week project I’m so disappointed of his reaction plus the low ratings😭 I really love this idea though an open world mmo league would be so cool imagine actual riot made this (they probably won’t) but I love Necrit specially when he talks about the lore and him giving some guide where that should there etc. is kinda nice🛬

Damn... this is cool. I love the style of the trees. If this game had a group/world-chat where newbs could ask questions about LoL lore, i could see myself jumping in there.
Maybe update it with something like a map-overlay that shows the icons of champions where they would probably be located in the world?
