If you've gone hard into faith during your playthrough it's actually possible to recruit the Lord Governor and unlock the Varyag. The Varyag is a strikegroup deleting machine, but it's such a gas guzzler that bringing it to bear is a challenge, especially in the endgame as things transition to requiring more air/missile resolutions. It's nice to see someone streaming a Highfleet playthrough who's just doing a playthrough without super optimized strats or extensive knowledge of the game. It feels like most players either recruit the Varyag or do something lame like headshot the bridge with a corvette and armor piercing ammo.
Thank you for the comment! Yeah I was trying a mixture of Faith and Force, unfortunately I didn't get a few events early on to lean into either paths too heavily. I've beaten Normal once before, and failed a bunch of Hard mode ones lol. I do need to redesign some of my custom ships, based on observations from This playthrough (the Duel scene is a good example lol). If I do another Hard run after this (kinda want to play different games between series), I would like to lean more into Faith or one of the other attributes to "roleplay" it more lol. I don't really play Min-Max in like any game, I tend to play them more like an "Ironman" style and embrace the flaws of my own designs lol Thank you again for the comment, I'm glad you're enjoying the series! 🙏
