You need only to listen to this amp to know it's one of the most revealing, musical and entertaining amps under $1000. I've owned Cambridge, NAD, AMC, and others. I added a DAC to my AMC and still feel THIS little amp brings music alive better than any of them. I can't address its' longevity but sound quality is stellar and build quality is very good. I played the Titanic soundtrack, Ron Sexsmith, McCartney, Johnny Cash... all showed more detail right down to the quietest sound as songs fade. I'm hearing details in the arrangements that are amazing. Bass extension was better than my AMC, the tone controls are very musical... bottom line, for under $200 Canadian it's a steal. DONT consider it a "little, desktop amp." Mine is paired with a pair of Monitor Audios. This amp belongs in an "audiophile" setup.

I had an FX Audio D802 amplifier. In terms of sound quality, it was in no way inferior to a vintage transistor amplifier, and even surpassed it in power. I sold it later. But the vintage one was so old that it began to break down often, so I started thinking about buying a compact amplifier again. Indeed, the sound is best over an optical cable. I ordered the Aiyima T9 Pro amplifier.

so you get volume also from the tv right?so the amp wont have to work as hard ?not sure how this works but i want to hook my digital internet radio to this it has 10 wats with rca out r l i think it would work ???you can use the volume on the device you hook the amp up to to get even louder ??thanks
It replaced my Denon pma 1600 lol. Awesome amp didn't expectes as serious performance. Although for me external dac is needed for best performance. Im using it with topping dac but I replaced it by mini dsp quite quickly for one of the best performance in the price range

How can you tell what the volume level is with no markings on the volume dial??

I ordered it. I wonder how it will compare to my Yamaha RX 396 Receiver.
Now I got it. It is amazing. Didn't compare it directly, but bass even seems tighter and everything is fine. VU-Meter stays at nearly zero. I don't think it is broken, because my big speakers are quite sensitive.
One minor drawback: It clicks slightly when there is no input for a few seconds. But it stays on and immediately plays again, when there is input again.
I am on the fence on ordering this. I was looking online for used hifi and was surprised you can really get awesome used hifi for the price of this mini amp. You can get a used AV receiver for dirt cheap and it will have all the features of this mini amp.
@@stevelouie5928, I don't like AV-Receivers with DSP. My Rx 396 seems to be more natural sounding. But it has no Bluetooth nor a DAC.
You can run av receivers direct with no dsp. Or you can just get an amp like the Denon pma 600ne. It has everything and only cost 500.
You can turn off that Auto shut feature by using M1 button on the remote. It's simple, but not sure why people keep complaining about the same.

This result has more to do with the sensitivity rating of the speakers.
The amp is rated at 100w @ 4ohms and I bet bench tests close to that.
It us important to understand the sensitivity of the speaker its max power and ohm rating whem matching an amplifier.
Can I use it as a guitar amp?

Get the smsL da-9 amp set the bass to 9 and the treble to 10 you will be blown away hundred times more then what you heard here. That's because the total harmonic distortion on it is 0.003% and the signal to noise ratio is 111 decibels.

poor quality sound, prob because those open baffles are too close to the walls (room is way too small) OB's need space.

It's a class D amp, I'm not sure how lamps are used.
