Would love to know how the sound of the Aiyima T9 Pro stacks up against the A07 Max with the Op Amp upgrade. That's where I'm heading now. The additional inputs would be useful but it's the sound that is most important.

Hi Randy, Thank you for the great review! We have a large shipment of these units coming in with the 32 Volt power supply. A smaller amount of the 24V power supply units are coming in as well, but not as many due to demand. We are authorized to resell by Aiyima and will cover the warranty on the amplifier. A couple of quick things that you might consider mentioning about this piece, since so many people (and so many reviewers) miss them: First, most people don't catch that you can still adjust tone controls without the remote. (All you have to do is short-press the mode button, and the display on the left toggles through treble and bass before coming back to volume.) Second, the VU-meter is adjustable on the fly using that little flathead set screw in the bottom center of the gauge. I realize that you guys know these things, but it seems that most people do not.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS REVIEW, RANDY!!! A couple of things: People are saying you can't adjust tone controls using the front panel of the T9-Pro, and you can. All you have to do is short-press the mode button to toggle to the treble- and bass adjustments one at a time. Also, I was surprised that you didn't mention the redesigned tube buffer, which Aiyima adopted in direct response to reviewers complaining about how easy the tubes in the T9 are to prang out of their sockets.

I have the original Douk version and I was very pleased the whole time except for the clicking. Jumped on the T9 Pro with the 36 V power supply as soon as it came out.
I’ve used it with the stock 5725 tubes and also 5654W tubes and the 6K4 tubes from the other amp. I have no opinion on which tubes are “better“ just which tubes I prefer. One of the great things about these amps is the ability to roll tubes and find different characteristics that pair well with other components, especially speakers. My preference is the 6K4 tubes and I would encourage anybody with these amplifiers to try different tubes.
My PSB Stratus Speakers, Schiit Mani phono amp, Fluance RT-85 turntable and REL T5i Sub all outclass this amp… or do they? I’m not lacking power, detail or tonality so I am very pleased with it as is and will probably benefit most by adding a Denafrips Aries II DAC before worrying much about a spendy amp.

I picked this up based on your review to power a set of speakers on my home office desk, but I'm not to pleased with it. I have 2 computers connected, one via BT and one via USB. Some issues I have with it:
    - There is no auto source select
    - The BT connection is turned off when another source is selected, disconnecting my laptop
    - It makes a loud clicking noise on the BT connection when there is no sound. This is because it goes into power saving mode, but the power consumption drops from around 12 watt to 7 watt. 7 watt is still a lot
    - The USB mode has no power saving.
    - Above means I manually need to shutdown the unit at night to save power.
    I found the following benefits
    + It sounds great
    + It is cheap
+ It is small and it looks good
I'm thinking about returning it, because it misses auto-standby and source select.

After hours of TH-cam videos I finally bought a T9-Pro and a Douk ST-01. For speakers I bought a set of JBL A130's and a set of Elac BS41's. After testing all combinations I find the T9Pro with the JBL's by far the best combo. The T9Pro has a noticeably fuller sound and more punch IMO. 2nd best would probably be the ST-01 with JBL's but very close to the T9 Pro with the Elac's. The T9Pro is louder with a noticeable difference in high volume sound. With most music on the T9Pro I could listen at full volume with little to no noticeable distortion on the JBL's. The ST-01 is more hands on with constant tone adjustments to listen to the top end and not as loud overall. Obviously the JBL's have a bigger driver and are a more expensive speaker ($189 vs $129 is what I paid). For my listening the ST-01 with the Elac's just don't make the cut and will be my TV system. Bluetooth and PC/USB inputs on both are not that great but I am streaming through a WIim Pro. Overall for the money I highly recommend the T9Pro over the ST-01 and I cannot sing enough praise for these JBL's for such a small speaker.

Hi! I'm a complete beginner in the hobby and I followed exactly the same path. After hours of YT, I got a Aiyima t9 pro. But I made a mistake, I got the one with 24V Power supply and I can't manage to get a 32v ps in my country (I've just sadly found it out). There's the option to import from China but the cost is 30% of the T9 Pro itself. And if I cancel the order, I'll lose the discount I got from an exclusive coupon. I'm looking for affordable speakers for my budget now and the JBL stage a130 is the cheapest available here. But I'm afraid 24V is not enough to work with them. Do you think I can drive those speakers with 24V? It's a 18m² room and I don't intend (and I can't, it's an apartment) to listen to music extremely loud.

I can't do these small class d amps. These seem great for a desktop set up, but, I much prefer a full sized component like the Yamaha R-S202 or if the Sony STR-DH190 would ever come back down from its stratospheric pricing. More inputs, fm tuner, still get bluetooth support, and tone controls. You don't get a subwoofer out with either though. You'd have to use B Channel or a sub with a high-level pass through. Also, I come across SO many decent receivers when thrifting for around $30 that these are off the map.

I already had one. T9 sounds very nice, but there is a big but! It has a terrible dynamic range. There is one piece of music that perfectly tests this aspect. This is "Time" by Hanz Zimmer. The song continues to build towards its climax. At T9 the dynamics closes in 1.5 minutes. meanwhile on another amp the song keeps growing until climax at 3:30.

I'm posting this before the intro is over. I bought one to replace the T9, which I liked, but couldn't get over the click/delay, in spite of trying to convince myself I could. (Yes, 1 tried 1hz loop etc)
I think it's a little warmer or clearer. Something is subtly different in the sound, in a good way, at least to me.
Without looking like a real noob, I did have a question about this amp and the SVS 1000 pro. subwoofer.
So I'll ask. Maybe Randy will answer, but I'm sure others on here can.
Would the aux out connection be able to leverage the features of the SVS 1000 pro with a 3.5 mm jack to male RCA?
I thought I read that using this instead of the LFE port fixed the crossover at a certain frequency.
It's entirely possible I'm confusing that fact with an REL or Emotiva review.
Or, I should be able to use the 3.5 mm jack to 2 male RCA's and adjust via the back panel or the application just fine?
Clearly I have $600 burning a hole in my pocket after I got the T9 pro and the Sony SSCS5s cheap per Randy's recommendations.
In any event, keep up the good work!

I hope you can explain more on amplifier (those Pioneer brands) vs T9?
Honestly I don’t have a clue, would the performance judge by chipset? or other things …
I can tell some amp put in ‘digital’ component to the sound output, a bit like sub woofer, the brass is strong, many people thinks strong brass is good hi fi….etc.

Love your videos.. Long time viewer, first time commenter. I was wondering if you haven't done one already an in depth explanation about power supply switching. You often mention it in videos. One thing I specifically have questions about is whether as long as the power supply is not internal can it be swapped? I have an SMSL DA-8s and was wondering if that one can be upgraded. Other things to cover would be if there is a way to tell what the max supply an amp can handle. Thanks for your videos. I rarely buy anything without checking if you have thoughts on it first. Haven't bought anything you recommend and was disappointed.

Thanks for the review. I'd have liked to hear opinions about the T9 Pro's internal DAC in this video. Upgrading the power supply will increase its power output but will increase the THD as well, am I right? I think it's mentioned in the manual.

    • @CinemaDemocratica
      @CinemaDemocratica ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'd be very interested to know what the manual says about this because something doesn't add up: Ordinarily upping the power supply should reduce THD at any given volume level, since THD is a function of how hard the amplifier is being driven. More power should make it easier for the amplifier to reproduce a given SPL.

I bought it from Ali after considering the T9, and I'm happy with it. Appearance is a matter of personal taste, but as you know, the numeric display on the left side is convenient when you switch the desired bass and treble values. Additionally, if you use this for several input sources, you can more easily prevent noisy sound when switching between input sources with different gains, which is better than the T9

Hi, I bought this last month(129 at walmart) for a replacement while my vintage amp is in the shop for my desktop listening station. there's a few things I feel like I need to add to Randy's review. He says it sounds amazing. I think what he means is it sounds amazing for a 169 class D amp. My vintage amp and other class a/b amps sound way better. This definitely has that edgy class d sound. If you can, save your money and get something else. Also, Bluetooth has crazy distortion and is unusable. Vu meters don't work unless amp is cranked. Randy, you also say that you couldn't test dac with high res files because you don't have any. Really? Can't you stream tidal or Amazon and at least test to see if it works? That's what we pay you for. Randy I find your hyperbole on these audio products hard to digest and would just like an honest review.
