  • Maybe it was not rider error at all? The coolant hose split which allowed all the coolant to escape and expire the engine. This bike is a 2023 Beta 300 Race Edition!

    Thanks for sharing this! I'm more encouraged then ever to continue living in the past with my Yamahas. 😆

      You can do it! Yamaha makes a great bike, but I also just had a friend with a 2021 Yamaha 250F completely grenade... not sure any one brand of bike is immune to issues! Enjoy The Ride, Jared

    Seems that Beta really has some problems with cooling system. I have Beta 390 RR Race edition MY2022 (~1k miles) and I have never finished a single race because the bike overheats all the time. It stalls when it warms up. And no, this is not the issue with gears near to the starter motor (my dealer has grinded inner dimeter already twice).
    So noticed the issue with coolant that leaks in the gearbox when it overheats. And no, those are not seals as I have replaced water pump seals. After researching this issue seems that this is cooling system (maybe thermostat which is not opening or radiator cap). Either way seems that it when it overheats it leads to an increase in pressure in the cooling system. Seems that first are failing water pump seals. Afterwards it is starting to stall on a tiny clutch movements until it stalls completely and cannot be started for a couple of minutes. I ordered a new radiator cap and a hose kit eliminating the thermostat. Hopefully it will solve the issue.

      Good Morning, if you are at all racing a 4 stroke we HIGHLY recommend the Samco coolant hose kit!! We would say to combine that with a high quality coolant and also get your bike reflashed with the most current map. Beta is ALWAYS updating the computer maps so you really should get it done every 6 months. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

      paradox is that using a + 200 idling rpms map helps a lot / you can too have sensors problems, as they are upon exhaust heat. Engine temperature one is cheap and just replace it. it can drift and give bad values very fast to ECU. Same for tmap sensor. Best would be ro run an small odb2 dongle under seat and record on your phone all datas , riding hard, by launching the record real time data log / show too gps position / This is what I do when shit hits the fan ! Too bad so few people do it. Simple, efficient, track all things real time, like air boot leak, bad sensors, cuts in charging, etc ... car scanner pro on android is the best for it. Guess i'm gonna do a youtube video about it

    Did the radiator cap valve opened? Might want to look in to the cap as well, how can so much pressure (to break a hose) build up?

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, yep the bike also got a new radiator cap. Not sure the sequence of events but it seems odd the cap didn't blow off extra fluid. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

    As hot as that engine must have gotten I would love to know what Tranny Oil and premix Oil he was running. Was expecting a lot more damage than what it had. I'd say the oil did a great job for as long as it held out.

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Morning! Great question! He runs the Motul oil. Transmission side would be Motul Transoil and the Premix is the Motul 710. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

    Does Samco make a silicone replacement for that "T"?

      Yeah if not samco then another brand of silicone hose is available. I hot one that came on my 23’ 300 race edition..

      The standard one would be fine but this thing just got abused till the point where something had to let go and that pipe was the weakest link

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Morning, yep Samco does make a hose kit! To get the "T" portion you have to grab the whole kit. We can offer discounts and parts can ship straight to your door if you wish! Feel free to reach out if you ever need parts! Enjoy The Ride, Jared

    Hi, can I ask how you discovered the faulty stator?

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Morning, the Stator actually still worked but the fact is that the engine got SO hot it melted the wires that rest against the cylinder. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

    What I want to know is what caused the hose failure in the first place. That’s just a byproduct.

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would like to know as well.. Maybe I'm starting to not like the stock hoses and thermostats more and more... Enjoy The Ride, Jared

    • @babar69110
      @babar69110 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      thermostats are fail proof, so even dead, they let coolant flow ;) But having hoses not visible in frame is not easy to check for sure. To make them last and resist forever, feed them with Red rubber grease . I do it on cars and bikes and temp is always around 3 degrees less in same conditions. they don't harden in winter and don't crack and last for years. Same for intake boots. So they get advantages of Silicon hoses with sadly have more permability....

  • @samuelford
    @samuelford 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    1 in 10000 faulty hose I bet, not really "caused by" the heat.

  • @jaredfortner
    @jaredfortner ปีที่แล้ว

    Isn’t there a better hose kit besides stock. Could it have potentially stopped this from happening ?

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว

    Great update, another poor design by Beta, that tee piece part on a KTM is metal !!

    • @3SeasRecreation
      @3SeasRecreation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well to be fair we have sold the Beta brand for 13 years and this is the first hose we have ever seen split. I also field a TON of calls from around the country every week with people looking for help and this has never been brought up before. Secondly, we just had a samco hose fail as well and they are a premium upgrade. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

      @@3SeasRecreation Thanks for the reply, had a Beta 300 in 18, great motor & gearbox but that's where it stopped. It's this sort of stuff that keeps me orange. Cheers
