The album *Purple Rain*, serving as the soundtrack for the film, held the No. 1 spot for 24 consecutive weeks. Prince was extremely private and didn't allow anyone to see him record his vocals. Prince did numerous charity concerts and made anonymous donations, often without allowing them to be filmed. Many people and organizations received money from him without knowing it until after he passed away. When he was characterized as not being charitable due to his ego, he released a song called "Hello" a week after the recording session to explain his position. His substantial charitable work was largely unknown until after his death. Additionally, the rivalry between Prince and Michael Jackson was more about friendly competition than animosity. There was a rivalry between their fan bases much more so than between themselves. They had a healthy rivalry but were ultimately friends who occasionally had their differences, just like most friendships.

Prince donated a lot to charities - look it up. He did most of it anonymously because he didn’t want the attention. He earned his money by working hard. He was always working on his music. @Gina-kb9xg well I haven't accomplished showing off on stage or killing myself with drugs.
This is a (poor) copy of the same song at “Concert for George” at Royal Albert Hall London to mark George’s 1 year passing. Slight change (upgrade) in personnel includedPaul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Billy Preston to name a few. Look it up and see Claptons solo !!
You don't Know Jeff Lynne rofl
You have to watch some Traveling Wilburys to better understand why Petty and Lynn are there.
Prince CAN NOT ACT. You are right, but he is Prince and we loved the movie because Prince and the Time were in it , so the made the movie great. LOL!
STOP SHOUTING. !!!
There were much better guitarists than Prince.
What is wrong with you !!!!
This is why Prince won’t be looked at as a great from everyone. Prince try’s to out do everyone rather than be part of the band. Yes he’s talented without doubt but it’s all about him & no one matters.
@stevenredmond7455 well said his performance was way over the top and way out of line.
Lol😂 This was the evening Prince was inducted into the RRHF. He had every right to show what he could do. His solo is also the most searched for online. I wonder if you have another problem with his talent 😮
@cheriwinn3852 he was over the top among other guys all talented but who didn't need to show off.I liked Prince but not when he's acting like "oh look at me "
@cheriwinn3852 there are much better guitarists than Prince ever was.
Wow bashing a dead artist … way to go.. prince wrote over 1000 songs and played 27 instruments 15 number one songs and 8 number one albums world wide ….. please do tell us all, what you have accomplished in your life !!!
Prince's performance was way over the top someone should have told him to fk off with his solo.
Go away and hate on someone else …
2 🤡🤡
👎🏾👎🏾
Totally skipping the fact his son is there playing, with Jeff Lynn and Tom Petty singing. Prince is a mediocre sideshow.
Never been impressed with Prince, typically believes his own Publicity. Americans aren't the only people who can play Guitar.
Oh let’s see now … Prince wrote over 1000 songs and played 27 instruments… 15 number one songs worldwide hardly mediocre… what have you done ???
@Gina-kb9xg you asked the question "what have you done", so he wrote all those song's and could play a lot of Musical instruments, The Celebritie Culture is just that, yes he brought enjoyment to millions but he also made a lot of money. Did he support Medical Research, like Cancer and Dementia or The Homeless which you Americans seem to have Ten's of Thousands of.
Us your skills or talents, not just to enrich yourself but to Help Others.
Prince donated a lot to charities - look it up. He did most of it anonymously because he didn’t want the attention. He earned his money by working hard. He was always working on his music. Prince wore out his bandmates and engineers. He would do a several hour sound check. Perform a concert then after would either do an after show at a club or go into a studio to record. He taught himself how to play all of those instruments. Prince not only played them all but did so at a high level. If he isn’t your cup of tea that’s fine. You can’t deny his talent though. My husband isn’t a Prince fan, but totally gets his talent. My husband said the two Prince concerts we went to were the best concerts he had ever been to.
